Hi DCwell1977, while they inspected the drivers of this model, it seems that this unit doesn't have drivers available for Windows 8.1. You can also visit this link and check the compatibility of this model to Windows 8.1. It's not necessarily you cannot upgrade to Windows 8.1, but we cannot guarantee that all the features of this unit will work.

  • VAIO Motion Eye Camera stop working

    Laptop: VGN-SR190E
Problem: USB Motion Eye Camera stop working
    OS: Vista Edition Home Premium

The Sony Visual Communication Camera died in this laptop. I want to talk about the "Motion Eye" webcam above the screen.

In the Arcsoft window, frame (window of the camera) went black, screen resolution went to 176 x 144 (QCIF), whatever that means.
In addition, no image using Windows Live Messenger.

Worked very well (image capture), then quit. Removed and reinstalled the drivers. No help. In the properties of the device, he says: "this device works correctly. Well maybe, but no picture.

What else can I do to fix this?

I can't stand Vista another day. I ordered Windows 7. I hope that its an improvement. Could install Windows 7 remedy? I guess I'll find out.

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

    Thank you
    Phil

    Update: not working yet.

Error message in Arcsoft WebCam Companion:
'Webcam not found or does not work properly. Please click the Connect button and try again.

    Previous post:
No help from this Forum, but I got the Motion Eye Cam working again. He would sometimes work for a minute or two and then quit. I thought it would be connected USB so I downloaded the registry USB patch (and a whole bunch of other updates and more) and installed it. After the patch USB Webcam has started working again. I don't know if it was the fix, but its working now. The Vaio "Updater" program did not work (it should be updated as well) so I had no idea there were so much software upgrades available for this laptop. I highly suggest that you check the Sony Web site for downloads (if you did not) available for your computer. Good luck.

I had no problems with the operating system being true til this summer when my computer wrong not dated and crashed my anti-virus software (screen was blue and the system had a difficult time in commissioning. After much patience and research, I fixed my computer and removed the faulty software. However, sometimes my computer does not recognize my product ID of Windows 7. When I start first my computer, the information is not available and that my computer updates, it will not update as it does not find the correct information. With this, my computer started to warn my that I am victim of counterfeit software. I have no idea where all this comes from and why is - it now say my software may be counterfeit? In the last year and a half, I never had this problem. Also, after a few minutes, my computer cannot find the operating system information and says that it is authentic; which leaves me more confused than ever. Gah. • Sony Vaio VGN-NW270F not illuminate, no LED light with battery cable or power supply

I have a Sony VAIO VGN-NW270F, it is quite dead. No led light, no boot, nothing. No lights with battery or power cable. I did some research:

    1. I did press the button power for 60 seconds, nothing. (Battery and cable not plugged in)

    2. I replaced the DC power jack in my research, it is said that the laptop can turn off completely if the plug or the charging circuit has problems. The motherboard looks fairly integrated, I do not see a power billing for the circuits that may be outside the MB.

    3. I plugged a different power cable, nothing.

    4. I can't find a replacement MB online which is less than $1,000.

    5. I see not all covers of breath, or a repair kit online.

Anyone, has any idea what should I do then? And for sarcastic readers of this post, yes I know. But rampage it seems such a waste... Even for a computer dead.

  • Sony Smartwatch 2 - device not detected when connected to laptop computer

Hi when the connection of my smartwatch 2 in my laptop I get the USB device cannot be detected / no driver error and PC companion doesn't recognize it too. I know this isn't a laptop problem that I connect my Xperia Z tablet and Z1 phone him fine. Any help would be appreciated. Gavin

The SW2 is not a device that will be detected as a connected external device - updates are performed via an update to the app and apps are done via the phone - so you can not transfer files simply load it via your laptop

  • Sony Vaio VPCEE45FXL will not start

My laptop does not light. The power button shows green, but the screen does not light. It worked perfectly an hour or so before that this problem occurred and when I tried to turn it on again it happened.

Check if the NUM lock or CAPS LOCK lights up when you press it or if there is an indication of activity LED when you turn on the computer.  If there is, try to connect to an external monitor to isolate if it is a dim display problem. You also try to press Fn + F7 to toggle video output modes. Make sure that the brightness of the LCD screen is not turned all the way down. Try pressing Fn + F6 keys, then press the arrow UP or RIGHT.
