Sort by creation date Resource Pools

Hi all

First of all, all the PS newbie here...

I'm trying to figure out a little PS code to extract that information from our vCenter server.

If I use:

Get-ResourcePool | Sort-Object ID - descending

I got the list based on the prime number, so, for example:

RP01 ResourcePool-resgroup-99

Healrp02 ResourcePool-resgroup-881

Healrp02 is mentioned after 01, even if it was created at a later date, all simply because the first number (9) is greater than 8.

Is there a way to list by the real resource pools, multiplication, so I can have at the end of the list based on the creation date?

Thank you

Luca.

Although I don't know that he'll give the resourcepools sorted by date of creation, you can sort on numbers in the id resourcepool with:

Get-ResourcePool | Sort-Object-descending - property {[int] $_.} {Id.Split("-")-[1]} | Select-Object - Property Name, Id

    This is a bug that has been fixed in the next release of Premiere Pro. In fact, all the metadata columns sortable will be sortable. Often, sorting by name will sort the clips in chronological order. Have you tried?

  • Place / Mac Finder sort files or images by creation Date

    Hi guys,.

    Is it possible to place an image in InDesign, and when the windows of the finder opens for the sorted by creation Date? This will be on the top of the most recent images instead of having to search by name, which is slower.

    See you soon,.

    No problem here. In the OS X version that I use the so-called columns updated and Date added and I can sort by.

    What version of InDesign? What version of Mac OS X?

  • Get data center or resource pool by using script vRO

    I am trying to build a service plan, but don't want the user to have to enter the information pool or a folder of resources.

    How to retrieve the objects as a data center pool or resource using the vRO scripting language?

    I'm trying to use var myDatacenters = VcPlugin.getAllDatacenters (); to retrieve a list of data centers to go, but I'm back zero results.

    Are there tricks to do this?  Should I connect to vCenter?  VCenter may not communicate with vRO?

    Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    I solved this by running a configuration in vRO workflow that adds an instance of vCenter vRO.

  • How can I restrict a resource pool to a single data store?

    I am setting up an environment to exercise for different groups of users and you want to limit/permissions to users in each resource pool so that they see only the data store where their enclave of virtual machines.  I was able to configure the actions of CPU and RAM correctly, but access to storage is stumping me.  Clarification: I'm not worried about storage i/o, just permissions/quotas on the data store itself.  Did anyone done this before?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

  • VCO 5.5 - How can I sort a table / VC:VirtualMachine resource pool?

    Hello

    I want to sort a VM of their resource pool table.

    I tried a few things from various research but none of them does not seem to work, but I can't find a lot of reference material.

    where WindowsVMs is an array / VC:VirtualMachine

    WindowsVMs = WindowsVMs.sort (sortVMs);

    I tried these two functions, I also tried the same thing with the name of the virtual machine as a sorting criterion. Doesn't seem to work and the System.log does not create an entry.

    function sortVMs(a,b) {}
    return (a.resourcePool.name > b.resourcePool.name);
    System.log ("0");
    }

    function sortVMs(a,b) {}
    var vmA = a.resourcePool.name.toLowerCase ();
    var vmB = a.resourcePool.name.toLowerCase ();

    If (vmA < vmB) {string ascending //sort
    Returns - 1
    System.log ("1a < B");
    }
    If (vmA > vmB) {}
    Returns 1
    System.log ("1a > B ');
    }

    Returns the return value 0 //default (no sorting)
    System.log ("0");
    }

    Any thoughts?

    Concerning

    Mark

    I have managed to get this to work using this function

    function sortVMs(a,b) {}

    If (a.resourcePool.name == b.resourcePool.name) {}

    return 0;

    } ElseIf (a.resourcePool.name > b.resourcePool.name) {}

    Return 1;

    }

    Returns - 1;

  • Get the emails in descending order of creation date. [REST API]

    Hello I am trying to GET emaiils of the REST API in order descending creation date. So far, my URL params look like:

    emails/assets /? Search = * BN * & page = 1 & number = 50 & depth minimum = & orderBy = converted

    This seems to put in ascending order. I wonder if I can specify the order? I noticed for the contacts there is a sorting = {sortOn} & dir = desc, so is it possible

    to do with e-mails? I tried to join the above URL & dir = desc but not luck and assuming that he only is not supported from this page http://topliners.eloqua.com/docs/DOC-3083.

    Yes I can reverse my logic in the program from the end of emails received, but I wonder if I can simply specify order emails using the REST API?

    Please let me know and thank you.

    Hi John,.

    To sort by a column name, such as the 'name' field, you can simply add the following query string parameters: & orderBy = name % 20desc

    The sort directions are: asc | / / DESC

    We will share a post soon to describe how to do this. The API should support the "dir" query string argument, but it doesn't seem to work. We will look into it as well.

    Hope this helps,

    Fred

  • Resource pool limit Datastore Quota

    Hello

    I need to limit the quota of data store for a specific group, e.g. they can only allocate 1 TB to 10 TB data store for their virtual machines.

    CPU and RAM are possible with resource pools, but how can I accomplish this with data warehouses?

    what you are asking for can be easily achieved in vRealize Automation or vCloud Director.

    But in the vSphere environment, you have to achieve by using roles and permissions, where you create datastore with limited storage space and assign permission to users wished to not to exceed the use of storage space after certain limit. That way they won't see all data warehouses and they will not be able to use all the space.

  • Monitor the IOPS / s in a Resource Pool?

    Hello world

    I am quite new to vROM and just get your feet wet for me.  I've been delving into the book "Mastering Operations Manager vRealize" useful and which was helpful, but I'm trying to understand an important piece on:

    We have pools of different resources for different departments within our Organization, and I try to get a good graph for IOPS / s in each resource pool.  I was able to get a list of all virtual machines in a resource pool by creating a dashboard with the widget resource pool game object selector, then use "Diagnose e/s disk of the Virtual Machine list" view to see all the virtual machines within the list of resources and then for the summary allows you to SUM add them all together.  This gives me a number, but does nothing for this over time.  I'd like to be able to see that number over the next few months (even if it means just go ahead of data today onward, not historical).

    Any ideas?  I think I must be missing something, like the Resource Pool looks like it would be a good way to measure the impact of the drive.  Folder of the Virtual Machine might work also, but is not as clean as I would like.

    Hello world

    Right after I got this resolved so I thought I would mention it here in case anyone else is curious.  It has to do with the SuperMetrics.

    The formula I created is as follows:

    SUM (${adapterkind = VMWARE, resourcekind = VirtualMachine, attribute is virtualDisk | commandsAveraged_average, depth = 1})

    It takes the sum of all virtual machines to a level under the resource pool.  I also used average and Max values, because this helps to show trends and you have aberrant VMs eating a ton of IOPS / s.

    I received lots of help from Iwan Rahabok virtual red point.  Specifically, this thread here: http://virtual-red-dot.info/any-vm-abusing-your-iaas-by-doing-excessive-workload/

  • Root user cannot create VMS within the Resource Pool after you rename the Cluster

    Currently, vCenter manages two clusters. I renamed a single cluster and the root user seems now are not allowed to create a new Virtual Machine in resource pools to the title of the group with the changed name. I tried to change the name of the cluster to its original name... no luck.

    The root user can still create a VM under the individual cluster nodes, but not in a resource pool.

    The cluster that has not been renamed yet can be managed completely with the root user. Resource pools it allow me to create a virtual machine.

    I found this last issue and checked on each cluster node that the ACEDataRoleId is-1 for each section: http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US & cmd = displayKC & externalId = 1031192

    I am at a loss, any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

    I think it's a bug. When I created a new data center and migrate all nodes in cluster about him, the permissions problem I was experiencing did not follow.

    Thank you for your help.

    Of course, you can insert your Where clause.

  • Configuration issue Resource Pool

    We do currently not pools of resources within our environment. What we seek to do is implement with reserves resource pools memory based on our VM sizes. For example, we will create a pool of resources of 4 GB for virtual machines with 4 GB of memory, a pool of resources for virtual machines with 8 GB of memory, 8 GB etc. We would then define the reserve of memory halfway (the virtual machine) for each pool. Thus, the 4 GB VM will have a reserve of 2GB. Our goal in doing this is to reduce the size of our swap files. We have a few virtual machines spread in our environment that are configured independently. For example, a 12 GB VM with a reserve of 6 GB has a 6 GB swap file. At the global level, it could save us a lot of space to store data.

    A few questions while doing this, however. What will happen for the VMs who have already activated bookings? The resource pool overrides the individual VM settings?

    And no one sees this as having harmful effects on an HA event? We had problems in the past in a different environment with reservations (big 38 GB +), and when we lost a multitude of virtual machines have been unable to turn on because there was no more available resources.

    Resource pool reservations have no effect on the reservation of the virtual machine in the pool - they are independent

    Difficulties with HA is a question - another is by assigning reservations to all VM you can come to the point where an ESXi host won't have enough memory to satisfy the reserve causing the VM does not start.

  • Is it really true that I can't view file creation date and time in the form of column bin?

    I need to sort my material by the date and time of creation of the file.

    It seems that this basic metadata more are missing in Premiere Pro

    I hope someone can point to my error here - otherwise, it's a MAJOR FAILURE by Adobe. Surely, after file name, it is the most "basic" bit of METADATA required from a file.

    Otherwise there is no solution workaround, other than the batch renaming clips at the finder level. (I tried the tags and comments at the research level, but can't seem to access it either)

    Hi Jim,.

    Unfortunately, even when these data are present for the clips, the ability to sort by these data is broken.

    It caused a lot of performance issues, then Yes, that it has been disabled.

    and they still haven't fixed yet.

    This is fixed in the next version. However, you must add the columns in the display of the metadata.

    Thank you

  • POS backup jobs is not new VM joined resource pools

    Hello

    I just got the daily report of the electronic mail of the POS device. I checked it to find errors and I saw that some newly created VMs has these unexpected values:

    Last backup job: unknown (labels might be different because they are translated from the french...)

    Last successful backup: never

    Date of the last backup job: never

    This means that these VMs were not considered by the backup task.

    With the VDR, when a backup operation has been assigned to a resource pool, each new virtual machine to join this pool was naturally saved on the next backup tasks.

    With POS, it seems does not work like that more. It seems that we have updated the backup operation attached to this pool (Edit, Next 4 times, finishing...) so that the new virtual machines looked to the backup to the next backup job.

    So how is this? Can we have VDP automatically update his backup job to study of new virtual machines added to a resource pool?

    Mini.

    I noticed one thing is... If a virtual computer is added to the RP through c# (Thick) client instead of UCS, so you may need to manually do a refresh on the Backup tab, then run a backup that would automatically take the new virtual machines added to the list of resources

  • Creation date '1969' issue.

    Hello-

    I just posted a question in another thread, so I apologize for flooding the forums.

    I just came across a really strange problem in my archives. It seems that almost all my scans old film who live within Lightroom have had their year 'creation date' changed in 1969.

    Just to give you some information on my machine:

    I run a 2008 Macbook Pro 5.1 wit 8 GB of ram, 128 GB SSD for my boot drive and a 256GB in my old optical Bay that I use as a storage drive. I have Lightroom and all my apps on this disk "storage" for the storage of large files.

    I ran simple copy and paste backups for a while and then started to use Chronosync two years ago. I know that this problem occurred last year and I am sure it has something to do with Lightroom because of the information I could do appear in the metadata Panel.

    I have attached a bunch of screenshots below. I'd appreciate any help I can get with this... This is a really strange question. I'm fine with it now because all the files, that this problem has affected always have the correct creation date in their modification date. The files were also renamed by their created some time ago. It's only going to cause a problem when I try to sort records by year in bridge and which do not.

    All files problem (which is actually my catalog of films together Lightroom) waiting to be a big key Word session and DNG conversion. Then, I was planning on moving them to an archive player where they will live out there. I'm not too comfortable with letting go files in an archive with the incorrect date information... even if file names reflect the exact date... I feel just like it could cause a problem on the road.

    Please let me know if you need more information from me.

    The symptoms that you observe have nothing to do with LR.

    There are two different sets of associated with a photo date/times: times file managed by the operating system (Mac OS) and the time of metadata that is stored in image files and are defined by cameras and software applications as LR.

    The Finder shows you the time of files - the time that the file was created, and when it has been changed by an application.  Different applications handle the time of creation and change differently, and not all backup/synchronization programs maintain the time of creation and modification.  The creation time, shown in the screen shot, 31/12/69 19:00, is a time special is 01/01/70 0:00 UTC (assuming that your computer is currently configured on the zone IS), which is represented in many programs with the digit 0.  This suggests that one of the programs that allows you to copy your files has a bug and set the time from creation to 0.

    LR does not set file times - when it creates a file or it changes, Mac OS will fix the time of creation or change automatically at the present time.

    LR tells you the time that are stored inside the metadata of the image files, and the most important of them is what LR calls "hour of capture.  Cameras to set the time of capture of their built-in clocks, and LR metadata allows you to change the capture time by using metadata > command change the Capture time.  LR shows the capture time in the right metadata Panel and next to the thumbnails in the library.

    If an image does not have a metadata capture time, LR will use the file's modification time (older versions of LR used at creation time).  Scanners generally do not set the capture time, so, in that your screenshot above, LR shows the modified next time thumbnails.

    In general, it is dangerous to rely on the file times to represent information about your images - too many programs will do unpredictable things with those moments.  Use programs like LR allows to define the metadata of image capture time (when the shutter is pressed in the film).  Industry standards has also set a time of additional metadata, usually called "date/time digitized", i.e. when the original image has been digitized, that is converted to digital bits by a scanner.   LR does not all orders for digital time keeping (it is for the images captured by digital cameras), so if you need to maintain also digitized date/time, you will need to use another program like Exiftool (free).
