  I have a lot of shortcuts I need readily available and it is very annoying when they disappear without my wanting to do.  I spent hours looking for an answer and I can't change the setting on the maintenance of the system 'clean up unused and shortcuts files' - but some missing I have used very recently - in the last week - so no reason for them to be cleaned - I tink im going to send this back stupid computer and get an Apple!

  I never had this problem with windows XP - windows 7 is rubbish if I can't disable this fundamental thing.

  I have a cut picture, I placed a drop shadow (using the layer styles) on a transparent background.  I want to quickly use the crop tool to remove unused pixels or the artboard.

  I tried to enable 'show the edges of the layer', but it ignores the layer style/shade that I placed, and as it disappears when you start using the crop tool itself.  If this does not really work.

  Is there another way to do this?  Other than the eye it?  I too want to crop the image as tight as possible, but I don't want tight, too tight and cut off from the shadow.  Any advice?  Thank you!!

  To sort the styles I used the script below - works in CS3 and CS4 if it has been awhile since I finally tried. It could be coded with more elegance, but it worked well as it is. He does not account groups of style: I don't know what happens if your documents contain a sort you would better try.

  As for shades, these are not so easy to sort. There was a discussion about this at one of these sites:

  I'm having a problem with sorting of columns and the number of lines displayed in a report.
  
  This report displays the data correct, but if I try to sort on a column when I click on the column heading in the report returns no line... I need to click on the "go" button to refresh the report (with the column sorted now) in to display the data.
  
  Similarly, I display only 15 lines per page. If I try to view the lines 16-30, 31-45, etc., that it returns no line until I click on the 'go' button to refresh again.
  
  Has anyone else had (and overcome) the same problem?

  2 questions:

  1) are you using the elements referenced by the report page to filter etc.. ? If so, you're failing values of these when the loading of the page?
  (2) are you using PPR page through the results?

  If so, it could be a problem with the different types of session state, as Anton Nielsen blogged about here:
  http://c2anton.blogspot.com/2008/12/Oracle-Application-Express-Apex-three.html

  If so, you can use calculations or processes to set element values in session state persistent during page rendering, as Anton mentions. In this way, when you use PPR page values will be available in session state and your report should work fine.

  I'm working on a shared Album. I have my own pictures and photos posted by someone else in the shared Album. I imported the photos of the other person, so I can change them.

  I want to sort pictures by time and date taken. The only 'option' is 'keep sorted by oldest Date added '. Option is in quotes because it is grayed out and there are no other options.

  I'm thirsty come back from a LONG trip. I created a folder (Trip) for all of my photos and it 57 (!) other subfolders to contain pictures of every place I visited.

  What is the procedure to define the details of all THE subfolders to be name, size and Date ALL sorted them by Date taken? Surely I don't have to do this for each folder individually.

  Windows Explorer - apply the current view setting other records

  By browsing folders in the computer folder, you can apply the current view to all folders on your computer that are optimized for the content of the file that you have opened. For example, the folder my pictures is optimized for image files. If you open this folder and change the view to large icons, you can apply the large icons view in every folder that is optimized for photos. (This setting does not apply when you view files and folders using libraries).

  1. open a folder, click the arrow next to the button views photo of the button on the toolbar and choose a display setting.
  2. on the toolbar, click on organize, and then click folder and search options.
  3. in the Folder Options dialog box, click the display tab, click on apply to the files, click Yes, and then click OK.
  Note: To change the type of file optimized for a folder, right-click the folder, click Properties, click the Customize tab, click a type of file in the option optimize this folder for list, and then click OK.
