  The last step to do if you get always no sound at all is a system restore to when you know the sound worked and do not download the last updated after that.

  Here is the document to show you how to proceed. Select the option at the top that says "restore windows to an earlier point.

  Just make sure and save the files and upload, you have recently installed or saved on your laptop.

  I recently had problems with my Dell Inspiron 9400/E1705 (vista 32-bit windows operating system). I couldn't get a USB microphone to work and I decided to update the sound card driver. I downloaded and updated what I thought, it was the right driver (sigmatel high definition audio codec) and since there is no sound from speakers. I followed the guide from Dell troubleshooting and disconnect any external devices and then click right click the mixer volume in the system tray, and then clicked on "open volume Mixer" and I get the message: no audio device installed. I went to the control panel to check the sound card driver and he told me that the codec sigmatel high definition audio works well and he has not updated. I unfortunately can't restore the system that system restore installation in my computer stopped working awhile (even when I start windows in safe mode) so I'm stuck. I think that I have installed the wrong driver for the sound card but don't find it not easy to understand which driver to search the dell support center. • 7359 2-in-1: no sound from speakers after updating BIOs

  Hi all

  Recently bought a 7359 2-in-1 and have been more or less satisfied - except for one glaring problem: there is no sound on the speakers (and despite checking all properties, etc.) after the last update of the BIOs Dell - WS - 01.08.00.exe.

  I spoke several times with the Service from Dell, who asked without success to find a solution and I even did a full factory restore - nothing worked until (and after much aggravation and the research on the advice of the forum...) - I got the BIOs with an earlier version: (01.06.00, A05 26 Feb 20167:37: 58 AM).

  I have the sound back now, but - it is not acceptable for a new factory unit, it can?

  Also, as aside, is a note possible to turn on the stereo mix (check-in line/waveout), as I had on my previous Dell XPS 13 and Inspiron? It is not a matter of 'right-click-enable-disabled' - that's all just not there on this computer, unless I want to dare to add a value to registry - not something for the fainthearted on a new computer laptop...

  Suggestions, anyone?

  no error message, I was watching a movie when my laptop died. I plugged it into the power source and now there is no sound from speakers or headphones when I plug.   Try the following.

  Download IDT Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

  One time finished, open windows control panel, open Device Manager and open sound, video and game controllers.  Right click on the IDT device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.

  When you're done, shut down the laptop and perform a "Hard Reset" for your model, as described in the document of HP here.

  One when you're done, press next to the key ESC that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, then select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the default values (sometimes it's f9, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

  Allow Windows to fully - charge it will automatically load an audio driver, but let just this complete.  Then open your download folder, right-click on the IDT Installer and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once this done, do a right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select playback devices.  'Speakers and headphones' left click once to highlight, and then click the Set Default button - check if you now audio.

  I noticed, however, that things sound beautiful when you use headphones... so I don't think that it is the sound card, but the speakers that have reset or whatever the update.

  I remember when I bought this PC firstly that there was only some built in Lenovo crudware to change sound options, and most of them makes the speakers sound bad, as they do now - slender and away a little weak. So I uninstalled.

  Type in "change the settings of the sound card" in the search bar and open it. Double-click on your speakers to open the speaker Properties window. In this, go to the tab called Dolby and click the power button in the upper left corner to switch it off.

  I.ve just had my first problem with my Toshiba Satellite L650 - particularly serious, because I rely on it for all my music playback!

  Normally I can plug and on the headphone jack on my stereo, speakers cut out and I get HiFi glorious while it is inserted, and the speakers onboard bounce when I delete.
  Today, I have plugged as ususal and listened to a few songs.

  I unplugged (to move the laptop) and the internal speakers not to bounce.
  I reconnected the headphone jack and there was no sound from my stereo (finger test confirms the work of jack stereo).

  I checked all the app and the main volume - level in good health indicators were present.
  In the Device Manager, all reported correctly and counter activity took place during the test routines of the audio device for both speakers and headphones, but no real signal to the phone jack, or speakers.
  "Update drivers" who fired the message I; m to date.

  I uninstalled the drivers of "High definition Audio Device", and scanned for hardware changes after - drivers were automatically found and installed successfully, but still no sound.

  So in sum up: when I want to listen to the sound of some player I have to plug in headphones first and then start the player in order reverse, the sound is not switched to the helmet line.

  I have the Satellite A200 too preinstalled with recovery DVDs. I was very curious and I tested it on my laptop. In my case everything was OK. Through the use of headphones, Laptop speakers are automatically TURNED off. Remove helmet speakers work again.

  I am really confused, and it is really not easy to say what the problem is here. AFAIK in headphone plug it is small, and through the use of headphones this past should disable Laptop speakers. All you can do is check if it happens after clean OS installation, maybe update the BIOS or install the latest driver sound.

  Sorry, but I don't see any other possibilities. If anything maybe you must contact the service in your country. I really can't imagine that this little mixer may be defective but service may only do a check.

I don't think it's my codecs, drivers or the speakers that I have recently reinstalled my drivers and codecs and it may not be my speakers because I use headphones anyway.   The speakers certainly work as I hear the rift of Windows to boot top.  Once started, I can't get sound from headphoones.  For about 4 months in this way.  Was OK with it but my kids wanted to watch a movie together and I can't do it with 1 helmet.  I am very computer.  I tried all the basics like reinstall drivers and check all the speaker settings. My sound card is RealTek High Definition Audio driver version 6.0.1.7687 RTKVHK64sys.  Is there a repair for Windows 7 disk?  Upgrade to Windows 10 will fix the problem?
