  With the help of old ship poles and the example of screw provided with Labview 2009 SP1, I could get a part of the path.

  The goal is to simultaneously play two .wav files, to two different sound cards. So far:

  (1) I can play a wav file for each sound card

  (2) I can generate two sinusoidal waves of different tones and put each two cards separately at the same time.

  But when I replace these two tones of #2 with .wav files, wave files play in turn. If wav_1 plays sound_card_1, THEN wav_2 plays sound_card_2, not simultaneously.

  It is even possible to play 2 wav files simultaneously on different maps?

  I've included a VI of the attempt to #2 above. WARNING: my labview skills are minimal and this vi was very experimental is probably terrible form.

  I am a web developer and since the 22nd of Firefox update, sounds no longer play for all users on the Web site.   Roughed up in talent with the first Pro CC, audio sent to Audition via dynamic links. Audio talent works very well in the waveforms and multi track. Put musical underscore on the audio track 2 and now I have a problem. Audio talent always plays back in both correctly. The musical highlight will read and emit sounds in the Waveform Editor, but in multi track editor, it will only emit the sound. When I hit play that the playhead moves, plays video, audio playback of talent, but musical underscore on the 2nd track makes no noise and the meters register nothing. Any help is greatly appreciated!

  That misunderstood... Yes, probably the signal routing other tracks.  Check the routing of output (the left arrow in the box at the left end of the track) and ensure that the master is on the menu drop down.

  You must use pieces of the wav file in order to do what you want. Go to help on the toolbar. Select search examples. Search for sound. Then look for the 'file to his \Sound Output.vi' this will give you an idea on how to do things. Be sure to save the example in your personnel file before you do any work on it.

  I am unable to hear any sound when trying to listen to samples of music on Amazon (for example) and also to other sites. I activated the firewall to all players of the internet, which is launch and start playing, but there is no sound.

  The volume is definitely on the speakers and I tried Windows Media Player and it plays radio and other music on my pc perfectly well. So I'm not sure about why I don't hear samples of music from websites now (I did in the past).

  Not a bad bill and it will teach you something about sound waves, etc...  [Did you physics?  [You have a knowledge of music, i.e. do you play an instrument, especially the piano?]

  This is an experiment to try.  Examine the middle C on the piano (about 256Hz).  Consider the C an octave above (about 512 Hz).  Play both at the same time.  What records did you hear?  If you know the music, you know that you won't hear the note 'C' (although it can be difficult to understand what octave (s)).  However, the average of 256 and 512 is 384, which is located close to a G.  Hmm, perhaps with an average of sounds is a little more complicated than the average of their frequencies...

  Windows Media Player has somehow forgotten how to play wav or midi files. Doubleclicking either of these file types give an error "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The player might not support the file type or does not support the codec used to compress the file. " There is a button 'Close' and 'Web Help' which still informs me, "you met the C00D1199 error message... ". ». Following the advice given nothing less than useful.

  I can easily play these files with RealPlayer or VLC so I don't think it's a driver problem, and it wasn't a corruption right after installing the other players. WMP seems to work OK when playing music or AVI. And there is no harm to hear a sound (wav or midi) in Windows for various system events. Have already uninstalled/reinstalled WMP without result.

  I have since determeined the problem comes from an updated codec package I installed a few weeks ago. These codecs were from Shark007 which I believe is a Microsoft MVP. Use the codecs from this site for a number of years without any problems so I did not initially suspect it was the source of the problem. I uninstalled the codec pack and installed K-light package and everything seems to be Ok now. Now, I'll be in contact with the members of this forum.

• XP sounds low and scratchy sound recorder

  using a dell with XP OS computer I have reciently erased my disk hard back to the "factory condition" using Norton Ghost disk, however, I am not able to record and playback using Microsoft Sound Recorder, as I was before.

  I'm sure there is a simple solution (e.g. drivers) and I can remember what it was.

  Initially, I had this problem and sought another recorder of sounds, which I ran for a day or two, and because he was in conflict with another sound program (Nero), I uninstalled it immediately.

  It is after uninstalling I noticed that Windows Sound Recorder worked then and everything was fine.

  I have the sound that I hear all my MP3 music without fault when playing on Windows Media Player using Creative Sound Blaster PCI, I deleted obviously something that was there before reformatting my hard drive.   A more technical and detailed explanation of the problem is below.

  The sound "waves" were still visible on the sound recorder, check it was scientifically to come in which could be lowered or raised with the Volume control - now there's nothing.

  Now there is a slight frying sound when music is recorded and played back, as if it were a radio cities not expensive 3 away. but once again my MP3 music plays without problem.

  I select file > properties > convert now, and by choosing 'Name' 'CD quality' on the recorder sounds and still no luck, infact the only way to hear the sound of frying by far is to keep the name of "Untitled" by default using the format "PCM".

  Yes, it would be a good idea to re - install your specific sound devices for the XP drivers.

  Use Audacity to record with, it of better and should not come into conflict with anything whatsoever. It's also free. Sound recorder is (IIRC) limited to 60 seconds of recording. Audacity is not more you can convert and edit your audio files on it.

  Here are some steps for troubleshooting audio problems with WMP:

  1 update: Check for Windows updates and make sure you have the latest version of Direct X.

  2. make sure that you have the correct output selected under tools/options/devices/speakers oenological practices

  3 IF - you have an older version of FFDShow Tryouts or AC3 Filter installed, uninstall it.

  4. go in Control Panel sounds, located in the Panel of control under 'hardware and sound '. Double click on the speakers and turn off any improvement effects on the system.

  It will be either ON or OFF...

  Right-click on a free space of your desktop > Personalize > sounds > sounds tab, under Windows, scroll down to the Windows logon, click > to the right of Windows Logon Sound. wav, click on the pointer > scrool all the way to the top of the list, select NONE > apply/OK.
