• The icons on my desktop look right and programs does not open.

• Premiere Pro is not video playback

  I use the first Pro CC 7.2.1 on an iMac OS X 10.9.

  You use external speakers for playback? I have some Genelec who connect to the computer via firewire, and sometimes I have the same problem you do. To fix it I unplug the computer speakers, plug them into a different firewire port, and then restart the computer. You can test if this is the problem by going into Preferences, audio and then selecting your headphones or loudspeakers. If playback works, then try unplugging / plugging your speakers.

  There is a hacky fix, but it's worked for me (in fact, he worked for the afternoon).

• Premiere Pro CC6 and CC7 will not video or still images to the timeline for editing.

  First Pro CC7 and nc6 don't add video or still images to the timeline for editing.   Yesterday I suddenly started having weird errors. My folders and office don't refresh automatically after moving/deleting files, some programs start when you click above and those that do will not close by clicking on the 'x '. I have to close via Task Manager and they close only after all possible errors (what happened even with Windows Media Player!). Also, I can't seem to switch between the windows by alt + tab and sometimes by clicking the bar tasks does not open the window at all so I have to minimize (if I can) all other windows to see the one I want.

  Programs range from WMP for Advanced System Care. I don't know what could have caused this. A corrupted user profile? I don't think it's a virus, as I already ran all kinds of tests (even the analysis of the system at boot).

  I tried to restart explorer.exe (with cache-removal), searched possible register "dontrefresh", which I couldn't, I restored the system to a point a few days ago, but it changed nothing. Aaand others.

  So any suggestions that this could be?

• SOUL not, video playback in the preview after Lion 10.7.3 update

  I use SOUL every day for several months of solid work and run fast now lion 10.7.3 update and a lot of weird things happening. More consistent, it's the video isn't able to display in the scree of preview, however, if you hit encode it the video encodes sometimes fine sometimes just black. I read somewhere thet lion 10.7.3 included a lot of video specific updates, but this one I screwed.  Someone at - there a work around? I tried the compressor and this thing kept too hung up.

  Are the prefs or something I can trash?  Which allows to work on certain points the PCF.

  You are correct.  Apple changed something in 10.7.3 and we thought that we worked with them to discover throughout the fall.  This one slipped through.  We will work with Apple to determine how we can settle this.

• Add selection to source monitor timeline?

  I want to select audio then mark the range in the timeline. Is there a way to get the selection or markers in the source monitor to appear in the timeline panel so that I can change based on that?

  I can note the time in the source window and then manually duplicate the selection, but the time is way too big for me to use. I want to choose a range of somewhere unknown audio samples within a millisecond.

  Get the viewer and synchronized timeline and click on the key in the viewer and select Source Gang and program. Where you move the playback cursor in source, the calendar will follow.

  Issues (stop, shaking in the video and sound) are multiply video playback after upgrade Windows 8.1 for Windows 10.

  Questions for:

  -Playback (avi, mkv, mp4 etc.) VMP Movies & TV AND;

  -Playback of video from Youtube by Edge and IE11;

  -Video playback in games.

  NO problem all does to (workaround):

  -Reading of files (avi, mkv, mp4 etc) by VLC player.

  -Video playback from Youtube through Firefox.

  Not any way to workaround that emit in the games: its integrated use of resources of the browser.

  VLC uses own video codecs, so I think that this emission source is possibly in embedded Windows 10 codecs?

  Drivers:

  Intel SoftPaq Download Manager Video drivers (latest for Windows 10: technical support site the same as at HP).

  AMD drivers for Widnows 10 SoftPaq Download Manager (the same that at HP supports the site) is buggy and causes crash (the "internal power error"). If Catalyst drivers from AMD (latest from Windows 10) site.

  Additional drivers, also upgraded for Windows 10 (via the SDM for Windows-10): chipset keeps drivers, WiFi, 3D etc.

  Any ideas?

  Problem has been resolved by unistalling HD Audio drivers (installed on Windows 8.1 early HP).

  After the reboot, the drivers HD Audio was automatically installed and then updated via Windows Update.

  Video playback is now correct through no fault inside any software (IE, edge, WMP etc.).

• No video playback in Premiere Pro CC 2015

  I am on a test of first Pro CC 2015 v9.2 and I get no video playback in the source or program window.  The audio plays well. I tried to change the rendering engine video of the CUDA to the only option of software, without a bit of luck.

  I'm running this on Windows 10, processor Intel Core i7-4170 cpu @2. 50 ghz, 8 GB of RAM, with an NVIDIA GPU 860 M.

  Someone at - it ideas?

  I used the nuclear option and reset my computer to the factory settings and just reinstalled.  That fixed it.
