Speech recognition Windows 'that was it. "

I try to use the recognition voice to dictate into a program windows open.  I have trained with success the program give me a reasonable accuracy in Word Pad.  However, whenever I speak in the open program, I get an error that says 'that was it. "  I can't dictate to all.  I am also unable to dictate into the search bar in my browser, google chrome.   How can I get windows speech recognition works correctly?

It should work in other things such as Notepad or Microsoft Word or Outlook.  But it is a very old engine (the recognition system which is since 2002 and is all self-contained, where modern (and more accurate) speech recognition systems then send your speech to a powerful server, it returns the text.) That's how Google Android, iPhone and Windows Phone do.

Windows (finally) will get this same capability year in Windows 10 next.

It essentially says Windows 7 speech recognition captures everything very well, exactly what the words I say but does not execute the command. So after much research I decided that I probably need to reinstall speech recognition Windows 7.

You cannot reinstall WSR, because it is an integral part of Windows. Moreover, I do not have to reinstall

    Windows would be useful.

What do you mean when you say it picks up everything beautiful?  Do you want to say that you see the exact words in the speech bar where it says listen to? The most common reason for this problem is that you started WSR after the program that you want to work. Close the program, start WSR, then restart the program.

If you still have the problem, you should know:

1 have. WSR you worked in the program?

    2. what programs you try to use it?

    3. what specific commands you issue?

  • "' Error of speech recognition: voice recognition couldn't start because the language configuration is not supported.

    OP: Windows speech recognition

Hi, I have a Dell Inspiron 1545 with Windows 7. I just put in place the Windows speech recognition and finished the installation and the tutorial. I went to use and it says:

    Speech recognition error

Speech recognition could not start because the configuration of the language is not supported.

The recognizer language must match the language of the user interface. Please change the recognizer language in the speech recognition under Advanced options control panel.

I don't know what that means, I tried changing the settings under:

Control Panel > accessibility > speech recognition > speech Advanced Options

    But nothing seems to work.

    Help!

    Hello

Saw this in another forum and it WORKS!

    Hello

I had the same problem. Strangely, I had other symptoms. I use the Turkish keyboard Q primary and English as secondary United States. As my speech recognition broke down, I saw that my office word and outlook mulfunctioned in what concerns the language of the keyboard. I was able to use the Turkish Q keyboard on any application, but when I open outlook or word, changes in the English language.

It happened on xp for... so I turned on the language bar to assign the TR when I am using these applications. But the language bar never himself displayed on the bar of tasks or office. So I get this problem and I saw that you can solve this problem via regedit.

    go to computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

right click on the right and a new "string value" component name value can be by default, the value data must be set to "ctfmon" = "" CTFMON. "." EXE ".

After that I restarted my machine and the language bar came to the taskbar. I went into applications and changing the language to TR. And there was a surprise for me. Speech recognition long gone was back at the top of the screen. (I tried everything that proposed that nothing worked)

I'm not sure but maybe the difference in language between applications caused my problem. Or maybe ctfmon has caused. Try this one.

I hope that this is the case for you and you can fix it too...

  • Speech recognition turns off randomly

My speech recognition Windows 7 randomly turns off. It happens sometimes after only a few minutes and other times it stays on for a while. Seems to happen faster when it is in mode ensures that when the microphone is open to dictation but happens eventually in any case. Already closed the power management which did not help but do not know what else to try. Would not be a big deal, but I am disabled and every time it turns off it is difficult for me to use the mouse to wake it up. It works fine for me when it stays on, but it's pretty useless when it goes off after 5 minutes. I know it is integrated in Windows 7 and cannot be uninstalled and reinstalled but I was wondering if there was a way to run a repair or anything else I could try? Thank you

    Hello RockBottom73,

I suggest you try Power different configuration to see if done setting a difference.
There is also a powercfg command-line utility that could help with some configuration settings that you can apply.

Go to the command prompt, right click and select "Run as Administrator" and then make some queries with the switches.

    I hope this helps.

It is always disconcerting that Microsoft (VISTA or Windows 7), again didn't match the overall flexibility of voice recognition they made in Office 2003 running on XP. This combo has given you the speech recognition in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as many commnads. Now, they have very slightly better accuracy but only in Word and a wider range of commands.

Cannot expect to make progress to be linear, but it is difficult to imagine how thye has lost the ability to interface with other office products. »

  • Speech recognition - recognition language is not language User Interface problem

I want to get Windows 7 speech recognition to work with British English, but I get an error after the training, that the language of the speech recognition is does not match the language of the user interface. I got the thing defined in the locale UK and speech recognition in British English. Several people have suggested:

    • Change regional settings, restart, change back again, reboot. Does not...
    • Turning off the box that says look at my documents. Does not solve.
    • make a Windows 7 reinstall. Can't do like no Windows 7 no install disc came with the PC.

Can someone help me solve this problem? Where is the language of the User Interface set? Would - this something to do with Office 2010?

There is anecdotal evidence that the use of like CCleaner registry cleaners can cause this problem.

  • Speech recognition is available for use in Italian?

I'm looking for a speech recognition program that allows dictation in Italian. Can I use the version of Windows 7 for this? If so, how can I change the input language? Thank you.

    Hello

What version (Home, Professional, ultimate) is installed on the computer?

Windows speech recognition is only available when the language of the operating system matches the language of Windows speech recognition. You can change the language of the operating system by installing a language pack from Windows Update. If you install the language pack for a supported language of Windows speech recognition, you can then use Windows speech recognition to this language if it is also the language of the operating system.

    Refer to this article:

Windows speech recognition language must be identical to the language of the operating system in Windows Vista
    (Also applies to Windows 7)

You can use speech recognition in another language if a MUI language pack is installed for one of the supported languages. 35 MUI language packs are no longer available
in the Ultimate and Windows 7 Enterprise editions.

    See the following article:

Windows 7 language packs are available for computers that are running Windows 7 ultimate or Windows 7 Enterprise

  • Windows speech recognition keeps closing

    Hi all

I have implemented recognition voice Windows last night and everything was working fine. I installed Windows speech recognition which worked well as Macros. Naturally, I was stopped for the night and went to bed.
Today, when I turned on my computer, I noticed that speech recognition have upward haven't started with him as he was supposed to.
Long story short, after trying to get it to bot, I noticed that the process was starting when I started WSR but it was only 12 seconds and then stop.
I restarted my computer several times for nothing doesn't. I checked the event log and found nothing in the speech of search terms or sapisvr (WSR process). I can run the tutorial and that works very well. I can also run speech recognition Training(I have actually completed it a few times just to see what would happen).  I also connected as long as another user on my computer to do the test and it worked on this user (again, so set it up).
Anyone have any ideas? I'm fresh out.
    Kind regards
    Aaron Ball
    Specifications of the computer:
    OS: Vista Ultimate 32 bit

    Hi all:

A few days ago, I thought about it and had an epiphony.
Because making a repair reveals exactly what the question here is, why not just create another user profile (since it works too), and copy my stuff. It takes less time, that's for sure.
I created a new profile and all my old files copied to it and set up speech recognition again. I reinstalled the program macro (what a wonderful idea it was) and restarted several times to confirm that speech recognition will continue to work. It's been a few days now and I have not had problems yet. (Good call on this JohnD)
Brent, if this question once again, I'll try the upgrade on site. This time I'll remember to bring my vista install disk with me so I don't have to wait however long again to solve the problem.
I'm really curious to know why this problem occurred again. I guess that's probably something unique to my case where a file has been corrupted or something similar. Well.
Thank you for all your help. I'll post here if the question should arise again. That is is not the case, I would say that this issue is resolved. Thanks again to all.
    Kind regards

  • Speech recognition words randomly then added that I don't speak

It seems back on my breathing or other noises and interpreted as words.  For example: "with this up to the application that has kept the ' just showed upward in MS Word while I was thinking of what to say next.  Is there a way to prevent speech recognition to recognize no voice sounds like the words?  I moved my microphone further away from my mouth and that reduced the problem, but he has not ruled out.

    Hello

    Method 1:

If possible I suggest you to change your microphone and check. You can also check if your present micro connections are adequate.

    Method 2:
The microphone input level may be too high. Lower the input level. Make sure that the microphone input level is set correctly.

To adjust tracking entry-level micro markets below-

    (a) Open Audio devices and sound themes by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, hardwareand audio, then clicking on his.

    (b) click on the recording tab.

    (c) double-click the microphone you are using speech recognition.
    (d) click the levels tab, and then use the slider to adjust the entry level for your microphone.

You can also check the help on the question link - below

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/troubleshoot-speech-recognition-problems

    Method 3:

You can reduce the effects of electromagnetic noise by isolating your microphone in one of the following ways:
    (a) using a microphone (USB) universal serial bus.
    (b) position your microphone as far from the computer as possible.
    (c) ensure that cables and printers are not close to your computer.

You can also reduce background noise with a reducer of high quality sound microphone. Also, remember to speak as clearly as possible and at a steady pace. Confused speech or very fast speech is often not recognized and causes inaccurate results.

    I hope this helps.
