Spell check on the wrong language

Hi all

My Mac AI CS4 spelling dictionary is defined in Bulgarian. I don't know how it happened, but I can't seem to find a place where I can change it back.

Preferences > hyphenation English watch (USA) as the value.

Help, please!

Thank you

Select your text and open the character Palette. For pre existing texts, the dictionary takes the information from the language of this palette. Change to what you need.

It is so useful because you can have different languages in a block of text and check spelling in one step. Click on the image to see it larger

Nobody knows anything about this; or how to fix this? I think it is ridiculous for the English language is no longer offered or supported for spell checking. Could be some kind of hack-job or malicious hacking?

  • The spell checker in the bad taste of the English

So I am sure I posted this a couple of weeks, but I can't find he's going so here once again.

I am running Firefox 3.6.13 provided with Ubuntu (10.10).

When I use a word like flavor, the spell checker highlights with the tildes and suggests 'flavour '. Similarly for the behavior and other words. I agree (that I just sqiggled; he wants to "recognize) as the British spelling convention. I downloaded the 5.01 spell English of the United States, but that was of no use. I finally thought to look in: config and found: spellchecker.dictionary the value en_AU - in other words, the Australian Dictionary.

I can't just blindly this put to US without knowing that:
-C' is the correct name for the dictionary I need. (Seems likely).
-That the extension above is indeed the dictionary it would have access.

I note that the Australian Dictionary is spelled en_AU - with an underscore - while the American dictionary is spelled en - with a dash. It is the kind of stuff I have to watch out for, because if I bumble, I am not able to restart FireFox.

    Thanks for the help here.

Is easier to let Firefox to do this.

You can see which dictionary is selected if you right click in a text box and open the submenu language.

You can open the "Add Dictionaries" link to install a dictionary if you don't.

Also make sure that [X] "Check spelling" in the menu contextual has a tick.

  • WHRE is the spell checker in the document section?

I did a word processor in the document file. When I looked for the spelling checker, I couldn't find it. Not even in the help section. I need help with this.

    Hello johnlucas3544,

What treatment do you use? WordPad is not built in spellchecker, nor do the notebook. Microsoft Word only. In Word 2010, the spelling checker and the grammar is on the Review tab

If you do not have Microsoft Word, you would like to download a free office suite like OpenOffice (www.openoffice.org). Save your wordpad in RFT format (assuming it's wordpad you use), and open it in OpenOffice truncated. You can then use openoffice spell check.

Incidentally, OpenOffice is far bette than Wordpad and, of copurse, it's completely free

  • Firefox is default spell checker for an incorrect language when you restart.

I use Firefox 30.0, the most recent version available for Ubuntu Linux 13.10.

For some reason, the default spelling language is "English (Canada).

I tried to fix it by right-click-> language-> English (United States).

Unfortunately, that holds only until I restart my browser.

Any ideas how to set permanently?

I'd be perfectly happy if all text entries were always mistakes like "English (United States)", since it's the only language I never use on my desk.

    Thank you.

It's unfortunate, there was some important security updates since the 30. Note that you can always download a. tar.gz print:

Unzip it in your home directory. It should be pre-compiled so that you don't need to do anything else, but run it.

As for your dictionary, I remember you need to install a Canadian English Dictionary in order to to use - what happens if you uninstall that in:

    • Tools > Modules > dictionaries

You can also enter Subject: preferences in your address bar, go to content and to "choose." From there, you can reorganize your languages and see if it changes your default dictionary.

  • Some sites appear in the wrong language.

I have English / AMERICAN selected under language however options often display a website in Hebrew. I did not choose Hebrew as a second choice. Actually, I didn't choose any language as a second choice. I live in Israel. Why this is happening and what can I do about it? Thank you.

Web sites do justice not always the information sent by the browser language. Instead, they can watch the source IP address of your application, and use this information to customize your experience. Multilingual often sites make it easy to switch to another language, but either, unless you use a virtual private network to send your requests through an English speaking country, there is no way to crazy sites affecting your IP address (or other location information).

  • Spell checker corrects the text where it shouldn't, several dictionaries scattered in Firefox

I use Firefox 39.0 to display my own server database records. These often contain a mixture of the English (United Kingdom), French and Spanish text.

Spellchecker of Firefox is running, and he correctly points out errors in the English text. But it also adds a fixed red wavy underlines what that it be written in French or Spanish, as if he needs to fix. This despite my after adding all EN and dictionaries and language packs available in the Firefox Add-on library. Is it not possible to put the Firefox spellchecker to correct English mistakes, but at the same time to avoid highlighting of text written in French and Spanish?

One thing I noticed: in the Add-ons Manager, language packs of Firefox Add-on and dictionaries are scattered in the Extensions, dictionaries and languages. Shouldn't they all have been installed in the same place?

I should be grateful if you would help to understand how it works.

There may be a correction active spelling dictionary in Firefox at the same time.
You will still see words of other languages marked as errors.

If you have not configured the Apple TV, you need to jump or enter anything for the implementation of the measures initially and back to these settings once you can read the menus in your native language.

Press the "Home Screen" on the remote control to return to the home screen menu and locate and select settings (with the gear icon), select the option at the top of the page in the menu, then scroll down and select the second to the last option on the next screen, that shows a list of languages, select yours.
