Spilled wine on MacBook Pro 13"

I have spill wine on my MacBook Pro 13 "a few weeks.  I took to work and had a technician to look at it, and said it looks like I need a new top box.  It does at all.  What do you advise?  Is it worth spending money on a new top box and maybe longer if needed, or should I consider it watered and search for amother one?

Thanks for your help,

Billy

The data on the hard drive may be fine, but it is still possible that the electronic system controlling the hard disk have shorted.  If you do not have backups and you choose to replace the machine, you will need to put this drive in a box outside (you can get a place in most electronic stores that sell computers) so you can copy the data out of it.  If it doesn't work, it can be fried, and you must say goodbye to data or pay more for a service of data recovery expensive detach the drive and read the data on specialized equipment sets

  • I managed to spill water on my MacBook Pro, Apple will know if I open just to check if the sensor LCI (water) have been activated? And if they somehow, this void my warranty?

Today, I spilled a glass of water and it went all over my MacBook Pro keyboard. The laptop is less than a month. I did everything what is recommended - I turned off and returned upside down now and just do it sit down u with ventilation and a fan just next door. If I open it in a few days to see if sensors of water have been activated, this will automatically cancel my warranty even if they are not. I read that sometimes they get activated, so I would check.

Water + computer means generally computer died.

Turn the power off.  Leave it unplugged.  Find your backup.

  • NEED HELP! How can I get 2560 * 1600 on Win 7? MacBook Pro 17 + Dell 30 inch PAM 3008 + Fusion 3

I run THAT VM Ware Fusion 3 on a Mac Book Pro 17 hooked up to a Dell 30 inch screen

I can manage to get a resolution of 2560 * 1600 on the MacBook Pro.

However, the highest resolution I can get Win 7 is 2048 * 15336 (and I want to be able to set it to 2560 * 1600 to take advantage of my 30-inch screen!)

I searched the KB and found an article that mentioned that I should add the following lines in the vmx file (which I did)

The lines are at the bottom of the vmx file

    svga.maxWidth = "2560.

    svga.maxHeight = "1600".

    svga.vramSize = "16384000".

    KB Article: http://KB.VMware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?cmd=displayKC & docType = kc & externalId = 1003 & sliceId = 1 & docTypeID = DT_KB_1_1 & dialogID = 63746028 & StateID = 0% 200% 2066741566

I did handling described in the KB above, however, restarted several times, but I still can't correct resolution to show in Windows

Did you install VMware Tools? Without need of any settings to the file .vmx, the highest resolution I see is 2560 x 1920 (and 2560 x 1600 is an option).

Edit: I suggest going out changes to the .vmx file, you set the size to 16 MB VRAM max

  • Just bought the D7000, you want tips, MacBook Pro, or Win 7 64 bit

I just purchased a D7000 and I try to update my PC for photo with Photoshop CS5 and Lightroom work. Looking for feedback from experienced users. What's better, MacBook Pro or Win 7 64 bit?

It is difficult to get reliable information on which platform Lightroom is more likely to work better, as Adobe would say "works equally well on both" and most individuals have personal biases that clouds objectivity (for example, users have just not enough data points to make a curve, so to speak).

I have used Lightroom on both platforms, but can't say which is better, except:

The Windows version supports hotkeys to access menu, which makes the plugin uses a lot easier (Mac version does not). In addition, some plugin functions (not a lot) do not work on Mac because of this.

Also (I'm a plugin author) there are some inefficiencies in the implementation of Windows of the plugin infrastructure which make me wonder if the Lightroom software has a gap of Mac under the hood - but I don't know. However, there are some anomalies in the implementation of Mac of the infrastructure of plugin that make it difficult to program plugins to work as well - for example, the edited text fields are not until a button click is treated, so have buttons that do things with freshly entered text can be challenging - there are workaround solutions , but not always viable and a plugin author should know about this, remember, code and test for her... And Mac users should be aware that they may need to tab to a text field before clicking on a button that treats the text ...

In any case, in the larger scheme of things, I think that the differences are relatively minor, and the big question is: what platform you want to use for the 'other' things still Lightroom.

PS - It can be a little more potential for problems on the Windows platform due to the wide variety of hardware and drivers that could have funny interactions, but these are corner cases...

Lightroom works fine on my Mac and on my Windows machine (much better on the new that older machine), but the opening acts barely at all on my Mac (relatively recent) (sloooooooow), but others do not have same problem... go figure...

    See you soon,.

It has a small green light now and my macbook pro can work on it but it won't charge my battery. Firstly you can solve this problem? (I unplugged it and put it in the rice) and secondly can it harm my macbook or the battery if I use it while there than the dim green light?

  • MacBook air water damage recovery of data flash storage of air from macbook to macbook pro retina

Last week, I spilled water on my macbook air that extinguishes immediately after that.
It's been a week that I let it dry without attempting to start.

Unfortunetaly, I did have a backup for 2 weeks, (of course bad luck should come at the wrong time), and I really need to get my data from the flash ssd drive.

I thought to transfer the player of Flash ssd of the macbook air to a macbook pro retina and retrieve the data since the macbook pro retina by making a backup. Would this work? This would not damage the macbook pro retina?

I have a macbook air early 2014, the macbook pro retina is also the same year.

Thank you very much for your answers.

    Best regards.

You'd better using an external enclosure of the MacBook Air SSD rather than MacBook Pro.

  • MacBook Pro with the Retina Display 2015 screen goes green? Green tint and mist?

    Hello world

I had this problem for quite a while now. My new Macbook Pro has worked great for a year. Now, after several updates which have me Safari freezes and crashes, and saw that the supported, there is a new problem.

Whenever I open my Macbook to sleep or completely turn it on, it has a green tint / haze to it. The above is green, the sides of the screen are green. However, it disappears after 10 minutes. At the moment it is perfectly fine. The screen is the perfect color, it should be.

    Why does this happen?

I have not dropped, spilled coffee or something like that. Sometimes I slide it clean with a cloth Microfiber, but very gently.

  • I tried to install Windows 8.1 on my MAcBook Pro mid2010 running that el Capitan - failed

I tried to install Windows 8.1 on my MacBook Pro mid2010 running El - Capitan

Boot camp could locate the iso file or CD the I burnt out of it.

Any idea? should I try with Win 7?

On a 2010 model, ISO (or installer USB) is not supported. Can you burn W8.1 to a physical DVD, and try to install using Wizard of BC?

  • Pass water damaged hard drive Macbook Pro (mid-2010) to another Macbook Pro (mid-2010)?

Someone accidentally spilled water on my MacBook Pro 'Core i7' 2.66 GHz 15 "mid-2010 and after trying to dry out for a few days, I'm sure that the keyboard is in ruins, and it may be worse (I suspect the logic board like most people), but I need to (would really) keep my documents etc. However, we happen to have an another i7 2.66 GHz 15 "mid 2010 Macbook Pro lying around not being used. I'm a student in computer engineering and I'm pretty good with electronics and figure, that I can use the practice, so I was planning on trying to replace the keyboard myself, but I plan on getting a new MBP in the next few months, so I'd rather do less work if possible. MY MAIN QUESTION IS: since I'm very lucky and I have two little nearly exact same model MBP can put the hard drive of the damaged water MBP (also long the HDD no is not damaged by water) in the MBP running? And if so, what would be my challenges and if it works well enough to use for a month or two? Thank you!

TLDR: I can take a HDD on a MBP and put it in a similar model without too much difficulty?

Yes, but you're probably better to put in an envelope instead. If you start another Mac, or in an enclosure closed or internally, a very small number of parameters will not be postponed, and some commercial programs may refuse to run.

  • Cannot install Windows 8.1 early 2015 MacBook Pro 64-bit

I try to install Windows 8.1 64 bit on a Macbook Pro running under Bootcamp early 2015. Operating system is 10.11.5 (El Capitan) and Bootcamp 6.0.1. I made a disk image of 8.1 to WIN with a suffix .iso on a 32 GB external drive.

I followed instructions from Bootcamp to create a partition and then find the file Win 8.1 and apparently it installed and the Windows supports the drivers. However, Windows does not appear as a disk in the preferences available starting System.

Any suggestions as to where I have gone wrong?

  • MacBook Pro with the water damage...

So my best friend brought the computer geek, a year 2011? (do not know exactly what year, unibody) MacBook Pro 13 inches. He had a kind of drink spilled on it and now refuses to start. This isn't the only thing however. I managed to clean the corrosion off him, and it looks clean. I tried to turn on after that, the fan refused to turn but the CPU radiator was deadly hot. The screen or my external monitor wouldn't recognize it. The other problem is that the magsafe adapter is glitching now. She charges for a minute or two, then fades to the orange Sun, then dim green. If I plug it into my MBA, let it load for a minute, then put it back on, it does the same thing.

I unplugged RAM, DVD drive, trackpad, you name it. The only things attached are the keyboard and the fan. (also the HARD disk cable so the light of sleep will allow me I hope to know when it's on.) I have no idea what is wrong with it at this point. The real kicker is that the principal amount of corrosion was of about where the magsafe connector attaches to the main Board.

One last thing. Even when the magsafe light is dimly lit green, the status lights of battery on the service side and tell me if he is in charge.

    Help, please.

It could very well be a lost cause if there is damage to the system board.

I'd give course to reconnect the RAM for general operations to run correctly.

  • I had peanut butter on my Macbook Pro Keyboard

    Hi guys,.

I accidentally spilled butter peanut (and peanut oil that comes with organic peanut butter) on the parts of my keyboard (Macbook Pro 13 "end 2012). I deleted what I was able to remove the visible parts and have tried out the remains of the keyboard, but some of my keys have been damaged and are really slow in terms of responsiveness. For example, I have a few keystrokes extra time so they react in fact.

Some tips on how I can solve it and get my keys working again?

    Appreciate your help guys!

You can make an appointment at the Apple Store - Genius Bar store and bring it into service. You can also search an Apple Store - find a store - Apple. Do this as soon as POSSIBLE in order to avoid further damage if possible. Otherwise, you buy a new computer.

At the same time this can help feel you better: three ways to get peanut butter at the wide the roof of your mouth.

  • Reliability of the macbook pro 13-inch retina

So I bought recently a 2015 macbook pro retina 13inch w from best buy. Ive heard nothing else nothing but great things about these machines and it reliability is pretty good, especially from what consumer reports said.

So my questions, yes I know its how you take care of it and other things, but how long I would be able to see out of him? I bought applecare for the 3 years to have the kind of peace of mind, if something goes wrong.

But I am a student I am on that for probably 8 hours a day, do not do stuff very heavy but don't like to play a few games on it from steam nothing really big or anything like that, and then I want to edit videos. Editing and games is probably once or twice a week especially just web browsing and school documents

I'm just a little paranoid, because I came from a dell inspiron 14r who crashed after 2 years later and I never really have a lot of video editing (fact 4, 5 min videos lol) on it and not play games. I have just web browsing, and it was nothing but a fight with problems.

I just want bad use it much and do much more things on it like ediitng videos, games and just curious to know how well it will hold up to?

But with the applecare as long as I don't spill something on it or drop it, they cover everything other then the battery from what ive read

Some 2007 models that still work as web browsers.  My 2011 MBP works always, strong but unlikely if do heavy software development I would get a new system for the best processor.

Don't be surprised that your system is "officially obsolete" (comes five years after the particular model is officially replaced) before it stops working.
