Splat on my own app tabs

Hello world

I use notifications with no title in my application so it shows the splat rather than appear in the hub, but I just get the splat on the icon and the active frame... Is there a way to show the splat on the tab that contains the new content? (as said in http://developer.blackberry.com/cascades/download/releasenotes_beta2/) Where can I join the notification without title?

Thanks in advance

Concerning

Diego

Sorry

I found that it does not depend on where the notification is, where it happens just the splat of the application icon and the active frame. For the splat tab show just need to use the indicator tab like this newContentAvailable...

homePage->findChild("questionsTab")->setNewContentAvailable(true);

Thank you

Diego

  • When turn on the App Tabs?

I checked the 'what are App Tabs?' and read the following descriptions:

App Tabs will inform you with a blue highlight when they change.

    • If you have Gmail as a tab App, for example, and you use a different tab when a new message is received, your Gmail tab lights.

I wonder the meaning of 'change' because after I pinned Weibo.com(largest in China's twitter-like site) as a tab App, new messages will not tab look different. So I would like to know if there is an API to do the job, or it's just the service customized for Web sites limited only by Firefox itself. Thank you!

Quite simply, the blue highlight is caused by a change in title.
It was a fix implemented in response to the bug "App Tabs should indicate the change in status in < title >".

For evidence of the above, enter the code here JavaScript in the address bar and press ENTER.
The App tab will then turn blue whenever it loses focus, until it is then regenerated.

    Brief explanation:
The code adds an event listener to change the title of a random number whenever the tab is changed (ie. a blur of the event). The empty container sets the return value to the undefined, so the content of the document is not changed (it would be otherwise).
JavaScript is a scripting language client (user-end) that may alter the HTML (Web site) for the duration of a single page-side (that is to say until a new page is loaded / the same page is reloaded) and is integrated in all popular browsers, as well as the ability to access through the ' javascript: ' Protocol address.

In the case of weibo.com, you would do well to have a look at the extension greasemonkey for firefox, and either create your own script or to persuade a friendly JavaScript coder to make one for you, that changes the title whenever a new message is received.

How to disable the App tabs (tablets should) start automatically?

because the option [don't load the tabs up to choosing] dose does not work with her, and she keeps starts every time when I restart Firefox.

    Please help me!

Don't bother, I arrived at the solution of my car, you can do the following:

Type "subject: config" [without quotes!] in the location Bar (address bar) and press ENTER to display the list of preferences, as shown in the photo #1 in Firefox 17 under Windows 7.

If you see a page with the warning as pictured #2, this might void your warranty!, click the "I'll be careful, I promise!" button to continue (in fact, there is no guarantee that it is, it's more a joke to ensure that users are aware of what they are about to do). Uncheck the box to avoid the warning in the future.

Now to the search bar in the image #3 type: tab and search for it

    preference name:

    Browser.sessionstore.restore_pinned_tabs_on_demand

or you can copy directly to the search bar.
Then, follow the instructions in the photo n ° 3 .

Just in case where if the photo appears, follow these steps:

First: Right-click on the name of the preference that we sought.
Then, click Toggle to change the value from false to true.
Or, double-click it and it will change.
Finally, restart Firefox, and you'll notice that they don't automatically load until you click on it.

That's it, good luck to all. ;-)

Note: the list of fonts preferences fat is the user changed, and the United Nations-fat is the default setting.

Warning: change preferences can, in rare circumstances, break Firefox, Thunderbird or Mozilla Suite, or cause strange behavior. Only do if you know what you're doing or trustworthy tips.

    Additional INFORMATION:

Subject: config is a feature of Mozilla applications which lists application settings (known as preferences) that are read from the profile files prefs.js and user.js and the default application. A lot of these preferences are not present in the preferences or Options dialog box. Using about: config is one of the many methods of changing the preferences and adding the other 'hidden '.

  • App Tabs has stopped working

On FF 16.0.1, I put 4 app tabs, as I had done in another version. (I tried to reset the FF, but it hung during the process and was completed, so I uninstalled and then installed 16.0.1).)

Initially, they worked. But in the same session, they froze. I could not pass to one of the four. Right click on them, got options on toolbar (try right click on the tab "+" - that's what I get). Re-opening and closing the window did not set. The spinners shortly showing the connections being made, spun, but I would not be able to access with one of the tabs. They are only real estate dead now; they do nothing, and I can't dismiss them.

Websites (such as Facebook) pointed to are still available, but only to a regular tab. When I tried to make a tab App of them once again, I had another tab "wooden".

I loved App Tabs when I've had them before, but now I have a few inches of my tab line that are unusable. Since the menu context does not have a "close tab" option, I can't even get rid of them. The dead tabs have the site logos/icons on them.

Problems with the buttons and links at the top of the page does not can be caused by an extension as the toolbar Yahoo! or Babylon that spans both down and covers the top of the browser window and therefore links and buttons in this part of the screen not clickable.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).

    • Do not click on the reset button on the start safe mode window or make changes.

I have some updated app tabs. In the last few days whenever I close my browser and then reopen it, my app tabs are no longer there. Why isn't firefox remember my app tabs more? How can I fix? I need my app tabs! Thanks a lot for your help!

You can check the settings in "clear history of Firefox closing:

    • Do not delete the "browsing history".

It is also possible that there is a problem with the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak files in the Firefox profile folder.

Delete the sessionstore.js file possible sessionstore-# .js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox profile folder.

Delete sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and tab groups and opened and closed the tabs (back) to get lost, so you will need to create them again (take note or bookmarks).

  • How to disable the blue glow of the App tabs feature?

I have Gmail and Facebook pinned like App Tabs, but I'm trying to limit the number of times I check them in order to increase the productivity of my work. How can I disable the "blue glow" function so that I'm not constantly distracted all working?

Hello, a solution could be the experimental extension to "suspend the background tabs" - it will limit the update at all, but the active tab & so can reduce or remove the indicator light on the app tabs as a by-product. Although it was developed for another purpose (the browser performance), it could also work for your purpose...

For example, I have YouTube as an App tab. Everytime I open firefox the last think I watched on YouTube starts to play again. I would really like to put so the App tabs open on any page I put initially for.

Just make sure that you open any new links in a new tab and not in the App tab.

There are related extensions tab that can protect or lock tabs to prevent them from changing, but open a link in a new tab with middle or Ctrl - left click click isn't extra effort very much.

  • do not save the App tabs

Whenever I close Firefox, my app tabs disappeared on restart. I use Firefox 10 and the problem still persists. Is anyway to fix this?

(I've removed the resolved status that you still have the problem)

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:

    • Help > troubleshooting information > profile directory: opens showing the file

Delete the sessionstore.js file [2] and files possible sessionstore-# .js [3] with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox profile folder.

(PIN) App tabs and groups of tabs (Panorama) are stored in session data [1] in the sessionstore.js file [2] in the Firefox profile folder [3].

Make sure that you do not use "Clear recent history" to clear the 'browsing history' when Firefox is closed because who wins and prevent Firefox tabs from the previous session.

It is also possible to use the "Show my windows and tabs from last time" parameter, which is generally a more reliable way to restore the session data.

  • Can I put my pages to open App Tabs?

I always have a set of my favorite, all sites day App Tabs, which are also my home pages. • How can I move App Tabs down, where are the other bookmark toolbars? Or, how can I put my toolbars on two rows bookmarks and forget the App Tabs?

I have several bookmarks in my toolbar, and my most often used found in a drop down menu, which is annoying. I have tried to click and drag on the menu bar, there was room for more icons, but they didn't budge. Anything under the "toolbar" has been helpful. Help tell me do right click on my toolbar and then click on 'Customize'... which did not come as an option. I would like to really all my favorites toolbar (I have about 10) or real on the toolbar visible, not hidden in a small dropdown tab menu.
There is a plug-in that allows you to put bookmarks in two rows on your toolbars, but it is not compatible with my version of FF (7.0.1).
App Tabs are cute, but I don't like them on top where they take place where I have the legs for various open websites (I usually opened several at once). App Tabs are fixed and do not move as site tabs, which is extremely annoying and so why I 1) want to move to the bottom of the toolbar or 2) be able to view all my bookmarks toolbars - which is what I prefer.
    BTW, I have Windows 7.
Thanks in advance for your help.

App tabs are special tablets and are always displayed at the left end of the tab bar.

You can place all the bookmarks that you want to see the toolbar of bookmarks in the bookmarks toolbar folder.

You can do this in the sidebar or the Manager of bookmarks if you can't do it on the bookmarks toolbar.

Most visited is a special file (smart) which shows the websites that you have visited and are not necessarily Favorites, so you can not drag on the personal bar unless you first to bookmark the. You can make it open in a tab by clicking on Star on location bar twice and choose the toolbar of bookmarks as destination folder.

  • App Tabs change their "Home" page after the navigation

Hi, I put a few App Tabs on the browser. They are defined for the "Home" page for this site. I navigate on the site of the App tab. When I return to this site later, once again using the App tab, it don't won't go back to the "home page" of this site. He remembers the last page, I sailed on that. I always want to tab App to open on the "home page" of this site. Thank you.

You will need to open the link on an APP tab in a new tab with a middle click or use an extension to protect (lock) APP tabs, so that their location cannot be changed.
