  I run a 27 "iMac with OS X.10.5.  My wired keypad (MB110B/B) has recently developed a problem.

  It seems to start in Excel that will be there normally and then it will begin to enter letters instead of numbers (on the keyboard extended & main).  The main qwerty keyboard letters are also scrambled / incorrect match.  After a minute or two, the computer will spontaneously shutdown (black screen, no warning) and then start to restart.

  I tried to unplug the keyboard, reset the default keyboard preferences.  Recently, I ran disk utility & apart from a few problems of preferences, there is nothing significant.

  I know that's not good to go.  I'm happy to help diagnose problems.  I just hope that this sounds familiar to anyone with a solution!

  The most common solution is to do a Reset of the MSC. It's very simple to make and instructions can be found in iMac SMC and PRAM reset. Sometimes it takes 2-3 attempts for resets it to work. If it fails after 2-3 resets, then please try another USB keyboard to see if your original keyboard is a failure, they can and wear out.

• 6 nine DC7900 CMT spontaneously power down and restart

  We just bought 6 new DC7900 Convertible mini towers. I rode 5 so far, 4 with XP and one with Vista. XP boxes have been spontaneously restart. Hereby I don't mean a normal shutdown and restart but they all of a sudden hard powerdown and start to begin. The Vista box has frozen and hard reset necessary. all but one of the boxes has the latest version of the bios, in other words, they are on the last or the bios before that, but they have the symptoms. The XP boxes display a message to save the Dump in the eventvwr, all with exactly the same message;

  The computer was restarted after a bugcheck.  The bugcheck was: 0x100000d1 (0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0 x 00000006, 0xb9e367d4). A dump was saved in the: C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini022309-02.dmp.

  The Vista box does not show a Mini Dump as fair, it froze.

  HP support wants go me through all the normal checks that I do. I just wanted to know if anyone of you have seen what these boxes have been purchased for a quick fix, but turn out to be anything but! I bought HP for reliability but next time, I think that it will be under construction in the House unless they sort this fast!

  Personally, I do not believe that anyone should have to work on a new computer. HP would be on their way to take all of this if it was me. I better not make me started this topic.

• Why does my Net connection disappear spontaneously?

  Recently, I had a problem where very well work my connection to the Internet, then all of a sudden he disappeared. The browser (any browser) gives me messages about being unable to find the server. Remedies, I tried:

  1. by using the option "Repair" of the system tray icon that accesses my Internet connection. Repair always freezes during the disconnection. Furthermore, the option 'Status' says my connection is excellent, but it's probably just between my wireless adapter and the AT & T wi - fi antenna.
  2. unplug the AT & T wi - fi antenna power, wait 30 seconds and in him plugging back in. This is one of the AT & T recommended methods of troubleshooting. Does not work for me.

  Here's what works, and the reason I think that the problem is in my PC and not with AT & T DSL service. If I use the power button before on my tower to completely power off, wait a few seconds, then starts upward, the problem is solved.   As far as I know, there are two problems:

  1 then we need to fix all the errors on the hard drive, and...

  2. for some reason any when I restart or start the PC, it linked to low of a non-secure neighbor connection wi - fi rather than I have here my apt. I reorganized the order of precedence by which Windows searches for a network to connect to, and it works perfectly!

  Same thing here, iMac with OS X 10.11.6. All started a couple days ago. Have not found any valid solution online yet, I tried rebooting in recovery mode and check disk, but it seems that everything is ok with the drives and permissions.

  It is possible that your Mac is always indexing of files for Spotlight.

• No restart or shutdown Sierra

  I upgraded my MBP (mid-2015) to Sierra yesterday and now its not shut down or restart properly. Its get stuck on the black screen with nothing on it (not even a cursor). The display lights stays ON but nothing really from there, I even left there like that for more than 20 minutes. I Force shutdown by pressing the power button / stop for a few seconds.

  Step 1. Reset a SMC; Reset the management system (SCM) controller on your Mac - Apple Support

  Step 2. Reset the PRAM but keep P-R-Opt-Cmd when you start. The MBP sounds once again, how you can release the keys.

  Step 3. make a start by holding down the SHIFT key until you see the progress bar. Once you get to the login screen, you will see "Safe Boot" in red next to the clock.

  Step 4. Reboot again and log in normally.

• After the upgrade to sierra, shutdown is extremely slow

  If the release of disk space on your Mac and the removal of the login items not solve the problem, try to start the Mac in Mode safe.  Try safe mode if your Mac does not start-up

  MacBook Pro retina, 15-inch, late 2013 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7 running OS El Capitan worm 10.11.6, it fails to respond to a request in the Apple menu to stop or restart.  I checked to see if all programs work always stop preventive action.  the only way to stop the mac is to hold down the power button and force a shutdown.

  When I confirm my macbook stopped can I close just the cover or what I should expect that the keyboard light? and both will result the MacBook at the stop or closing the lid will to sleep instead of shutdown?

  With El Capitan 10.11.6, I have to wait until the keyboard lights turn off and give about a minute or two before closing the lid. It takes a little more for some reason any for a full stop. I learned to confirm the stop and walk. Come back and close the cover later. Weird, but I don't let it bother me. Come to work with her.

  My old 13 "Macbook (early 2006) spontaneously rebooted twice in one evening.   This is the most troubling part. This may indicate a problem with your hard drive. According to the OS you use, either start of your OEM installation DVD and choose disk utility > floppy disk repair, or start in your holding volume of recovery command, shift + r key and choose disk utility > first aid.
