Spotlight, failing repeatedly in iOS 9.2

This bug makes me batty.

Spotlight guard failed for me in iOS 9.2. I enter a search term and nothing back.

If I do the things that rebuild the index [1], she works for a while, but it then stops again. Turning off the Contacts can operate, but cannot enable it. Activation of Spotlight on other applications may or may not make a difference.

I've seen this intermittently over the years, but nothing like this. I use an iPhone 1 yo. 6.

The next step is to wipe the phone and restore. Someone met another fix? Anyone else seeing this?

[1] spotlight search does not work with contacts

I have the same problem on my iPhone 6 9.2 running. Spotlight returns nothing, no matter what I'm looking for.

I tried all the home remedies, such as:

  1. Send an email to yourself
  2. Restart the iOS
  3. Disable the Contacts in the Spotlight search
  4. "Reset all settings".

I have not yet tried wiping my iPhone. It's the nuclear option, I am reluctant to use because I hate configure my stuff all over again, and there is no guarantee that it will solve things. I fear that this issue is something endemic to my particular iPhone, as an obscure bug is triggered by something that is present on my phone.

It's pathetic that I can't get anything on my iPhone. You are looking for something that's for suckers.

Note that the vulnerability being patched (e.g., MS12-004) requires KB2598479 and KB2631813 to install! IOW, your computer is still vulnerable to the exploit if if KB2631813 is not installed.

If you mean CS 5.5, the updater no longer works. You must make a list of what needs to be updated or that update failed and go here to download and install them manually.

  • Audit failed repeatedly

I have an iPad which is uptodate.  I am connected to the Apple with my username and password from apple.  But if I try to update my applications, I have received the certification failed - there was a connection to the server id apple error.   the password and the same ID - I have only a single ID - I just used to connect to apple.  I read on this site about the definition of the fate and auto time and is happening.  Still does not work.  My connection works fine.  So, what's the problem?   Thank you.

    Hello there, far-East!

Thank you for joining the communities Support from Apple! I know how it is important to be able to connect to the iTunes Store on your iPad. I suggest you check out this article with the steps for If you cannot connect to the iTunes Store. Because you checked the date and time, you can go directly to step 2 and continue.

Solve the problem on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch

If you cannot connect to the iTunes Store on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, make sure that:

    1. That your date, time, and time zone are correct. Tap Settings > general > Date & time. Time zone can list another city in your time zone.
    2. Only your iOS software is up-to-date. To check the updates, tap Settings > general > software update. You can also connect your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to iTunes and click on search the update on the summary page of your device.
    3. To check you are in range of a Wi - Fi router or base station. If you use the cell service, make sure the cell data are lit settings > cellular. If you are connected to cellular data, large items can not download. You may need to connect to the Wi - Fi to download applications, videos and podcasts.
    4. You have an Internet connection active. Help with your connection, check your device user guide.
    5. To see if other devices, such as laptops, can connect to the Wi - Fi network and access the Internet.
    6. To reset the router Wi - Fi by turning and then again.

Additionally, once you have tried these steps, try to reset the network settings. You can do this by going to settings > general > reset and then select Reset network settings. Just keep in mind this will not delete your personal contacts, photos, music or other information. It will remove any Wi - Fi and VPN settings so you'll need to make sure, you have these settings and password allowing to add them once the phone is reset to zero.

    See you soon!

  • Fingerprinting fails after updating iOS 9,3/9.3.1

Long story short : iPhone 6, I downloaded iOS 9,3/9.3.1 of fingerprint scanner stopped working the same day.  Apple refuses to acknowledge the update of iOS could have abandoned my scanner.

I downloaded the update from iOS9.3 about a week ago.  That day and all the days after, my phone turns off randomly several times (forcing me to restart it).  In addition, the same day of the 9.3 iOS update, the fingerprint reader has stopped working.  I'm very well on my phone so I thought it must be a problem of update.  I went into settings/privacy, trying to set up the scanning of fingerprints and it wouldn't let me put a new stamp in and jumping right to a screen "Fingerprint has failed."  A few days later, I downloaded the iOS 9.3.1 update (hoping it might solve my problem), and he did not.  In fact, the 9.3.1 was unable to completely download update and forced me to resort to reinstall a backup.

Later, I went into the Apple Store, and they said that an update could never do that to my phone, and my phone screen needs to be replaced.  Then, after insisting to ask a co-worker for a second opinion, she came back and said she talked to 3 different employees at the Genius Bar, and that the update would not have abandoned my fingerprint reader.  Then she said I have to buy a new phone, and they couldn't fix it.  If I had not been a loyal customer of Apple, then I would have thought for sure they were trying to get just upgrade me to the next model.  Has anyone else encountered this problem?

No, upgrade 9.3 of the day, he was released, no problem with not touch id, same with 9.3.1 put on daily basis, he was released and have no problem with my contact id.

So not an IOS update may cause the malfunction of your contact id.

  • failed to update iOS 9.3

iPhone 9.3 update fails the verification step saying iPhone is not connected to the internet.  My iTunes on my PC says version 9.2.1 client is updated.  I don't know if 9.3 really exists or not.  And if this is the case, the update fails every time with no connected message.  I tried to use wifi, thread and LTE, but all three say not connected.  Of course I'm connected because all my apps work including social media, email, browser.

I have exactly the same problem with my iPhone running iOS 9.2.1 5s.  Preparing just post the question you posted.  What's up, Apple?  9.3 available or not?

  • HP 2000 - 2b19WM Notebook PC: AMD graphic Driver fails repeatedly, and the PC often restarts itself...

I bought this laptop a few months, put it away in a corner and when is it coming out my old laptop broke. I got it at low cost, was handed to nine Windows 8 PC, I've updated to 8.1 in early December. I use this laptop heavily, I watch a lot of videos, and I kept meeting my good old friend, the green of death. I was familiar with it, that the pilot had failed several times on my other laptop as he grew older. However, this error occurs repeatedly. I'll see that I've got the greenscreen, I'll go to my office and opened to the top of the screen with all the drivers listed, click on the display of the maps section and open the graphical part of AMD. I'll click Update driver in the second tab to search for updated drivers. Each time on what he tells me that he has that no update, so I'll be back with the graphical part of AMD, click Update again and, this time, search the drivers already installed on my laptop. Currently, there are 2 AMD drivers available, both the AMD Radeon HD 6310 versions, one starting with a 12 and the other starting with a 13. No matter which version I coose, both only work for a few hours before I have to redo the procees.

ALSO, sometimes after update the graphics drivers, my laptop with just close and restart. He will sit on page load with the HP logo and the circle with doing the loading circle, but the page with disappear and appear again and do exactly the same thing. On several occasions. Finally, a blue screen appears which says I need to restore my laptop and the previous version. I click on the button to do it, and the screen returns to the page from loading except now, it not there no circle loading, just the HP logo. He's sitting like that for about 20-30 minutes before a blue screen appears stating that the laptop could not restore to the earleir version, and there is a button Advanced Options on the Advanced Options page there is a button that says exit and go from 8.1 to Windows, so I click on that and the computer restarts normally and I can use my laptop again.

SO I need someone to tell me how to stop the repeated appearance of greenscreen and (hopefully) tell me how to stop my computer to reboot (it did its shenanigan last night, and when I finally got my computer back to the start screen, my Word documents had disappeared completely. I even tried to restore all thatword documents recorded due to the closure forced the document, but nada for me) I'm afraid that I'll lose even more work and time to these problems, and I hope that someone can help me.

    Hi @SabrinaS,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I looked in your question about your 2b10wm of 2000 HP Notebook PCs and laptops having problems with restore points. Two graphics drivers that you see listed and you restart the portable computer to uninstall.

Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant. Simply download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system that may need updating.

Note Remove all USB devices. Disconnect all devices of non-essential, as these can cause some problems.

Here is a document on assistance with the computer does not start. It gives you instructions step by step when you see the HP Logo screen.

What happens when you play a DVD?

What browser do you use? Here is a site that will check if your update.

    Please let me know.

    Thank you.

  • Windows Update fails repeatedly to install updates KB3079904 and six other people, keep trying for 3 weeks now

Drop support for Windows Vista is apparently present but perhaps without notice.

Three weeks since July 14, 2015 Windows Update has repeatedly tried and failed to install seven updates. Three other updates cannot be installed while in time (KB3072633, KB3057154, KB3065979) but was finally installing manually through Microsoft Download Center.  Further attempts by MDC didn't settle because "the update does not apply to your system" (KB3070102, KB3067903).  KB3072630 update did not show an available option of Windows Vista.  The remaining updates would download a version of Vista but just have not installed (KB3070102, KB3079904, KB309392, KB3067505 and KB3065822, which is a Cumulative of IE9 for Windows Vista update).

With no fix that works my PC will apparently try to download these and other updates in perpetuity.  Some files, such as KB915597, is constantly to be installed and reinstalled successfully during this time.

I tried to upgrade Vista on TOSHIBA to my mother, it runs cpu to slow to 46%, I'm sure I need of more memory, my concern is that I just tried to upgrade on my HP17 for the new completely WIN10 have not upgraded, but froze on a continuous flashing, cannot access via ctrl alt esc file insight and nothing moves percentages are 0 nothing downloaded? or downloaded?
