SQL 2016

one of my customers who have installed on its server of SQL 2008. Now, they want to update the same, but their application will be supported until 2014 SQL. But unfortunately 2014 SQL is no longer available for purchase, so can they buy SQL 2016 and install 2014 SQL using windows downgrade rights.

Service SQL Server 2014 will not start start after the update sp1 (KB3058865, KB3075950, KB3094221)

Hi, my SQL Server 2014 works very well in my server with WIndows 2012 until I installed the new day & service pack that was required for server hardening.

I successfully installed SP1 KB 3058865 first, then discovered that the services do not start. After so much research to fix, I came with the 2 cu updates KB3075950, KB3094221 in knowing that it could solve my problem but unfortunately is not.

I also tried to change the service account that many suggest, but his does not work.

I tried to replace the master file & maslog but also failed.

I tried to run etc and unique usermode and restore master db... also failed.

Training and tools SQL Server Business Intelligence 2016

We are looking for a SQL Server installation where it serves as a data warehouse, performs work of the ETL data and provides information for Business Intelligence using dashboards, reports, etc. From my research, it seems that SQL Server 2014 had a specific edition of BI but for 2016 all BI tools are available in the Enterprise edition. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Is there a place to find the specific documentation about SQL Server 2016 BI tools and specific training?

2016 SQL Server Reporting Services

Everyone has problems with the use of an expression for the background color in SSRS 2016? I have an old expression that was used in 2008/2008R2 for the banded rows "iif (RowNumber (nothing) mod 2 = 0, '#Red', 'White')". Now since we moved I see issues with cell formatting and really lack of data due to the expression. We are seeing this type of problem with a couple of our reports that use expressions to get the background color. Visual Studio 2015 actually correctly displays the reports, but when it is deployed on the server, we begin to see the question.

Evaluation of SQL Server Standard Version 2016 features

We are looking to test the new functionality of availability (SAC) Basic groups in SQL Server 2016 Standard Edition. So far, I have not been able to find a copy of the standard evaluation.

Is there a way that we can get your hands on one to test if the BAG would be sufficient for our needs, rather than having to buy the Enterprise edition.

You do not link to a sql database, you must use the code side server by using one of the languages on the server side.

There are a number of languages on the server with the more common in PHP and c#, which can be used with Microsoft sql databases side. Unfortunately, these are certainly not for a novice. A quick Amazon or similar search will show a number of books available for both.

As you arise the question well I would not recommend trying to learn PHP or c# until you have a good knowledge of html and css, (with possibly javascript).

Automatic SQL (cards), how interrogate?

Hi everyone, I am trying to use the automatic SQL (cards) instead of the explicit SQL and it is very easy to write and read from the database simply write the column name and binding it... but... How can I query with this type of connection?

for example, I have a table with

-DateTime

-Result (OK, KB)

and I want to get only the OK value in a date.

With explicit SQL I would have

SELECT * FROM [TableName] WHERE DateTime BETWEEN 00.00.00 # #2016-03-01 AND 00.00.00 # #2016-03-02 AND WHERE result = OK

But how to do it with the automatic SQL (cards)?

Error when you try to use SQL Express 2012 import/export wizard

When you try to use 'Import and data export' Wizard SQL Server 2012 Express with Advanced Services, I get the following error message:

I tried everything I can think of. I tried to copy this .dll on various windows system files, by registering the .dll file, even tried to not downgrading from SQL Express 2016 until 2012... no luck, still the same problem. I tried everything on at least the first five pages of a Google search. I am running it in a box of Windows 7 Pro 32-bit. I used the x 86 version of SQL Express 2012 with Advanced Services and all the features were installed during the installation.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Support of SQL query: what tasks are Sunday from 07:00 - 12:00

I need to do a SQL query that can give me a list of jobs that are running on a given (Sunday) day from 07:00 - 12:00. Our environment is not a maintenance window. Therefore, whenever there is application of patches or upgrades, it causes more work and risk of failure of the tide tasks. By moving jobs over the period from 07:00 - 12:00 Sunday, patch can be completed without disrupting the calendar.

Im not the best at the SQL script and can not get my script to work. any help would be great. Here's what I have so far. I get the error ' could not find identifier multi-player jobmst.jobmst_name. IM using Tidal 6.0.3 with SQL for DB Admeral table.

The time window from the jobdtl returns only jobs that have an early start time and windows of time from beginning to the end, so there may be some tasks which are not time bound but have dependencies on other jobs, variables, etc.

Parse Hard & Soft Parse for a given SQL?

I need to know which of these is a hard and soft analysis for a given Sql. What I think is the 'charges' and 'invalidation' indicates if a cursor is invalidated and gets reloaded, which allows us to check if a call analysis becomes hard analysis.

Reads disk do not mean that the query will invalidation thus analyze hard. Reading disc mean simply that the IO that happens from disk and it is perhaps due to the result not being not not available in memory.

I'm not sure why you use this type of analysis to check if requests are going for hard analysis or not? Why not pick up a particular query run and use TKPROF(better SQLTXPLAN) or AWR based SQRPT.sql to check the same? What is the exact issuethat, you're trying to solve?
