SQL coding standards

Hi all

I'm sure that I'm not the first person to go out with this question, but can anyone recommend me a coding standard, which makes SQL queries (and DML instructions) readable and easily understandable ? I understand a request, and it is causing me problems.

Or you recommend me to use my mind more effectively :)

Thank you
Gabor

  • Evaluation of SQL Server Standard Version 2016 features

    Hello

We are looking to test the new functionality of availability (SAC) Basic groups in SQL Server 2016 Standard Edition. So far, I have not been able to find a copy of the standard evaluation.

Is there a way that we can get your hands on one to test if the BAG would be sufficient for our needs, rather than having to buy the Enterprise edition.

If not, is there a way that we can implement the Enterprise Edition evaluation it for how the Standard edition will be once purchased? We do not want encounters surprises later and have a thorough knowledge of the differences that the Standard edition is with Enterprise edition.

Standard SQL 2012 Enterprise edition migration is not a supported scenario. Even from 2012 to 2014 enterprise SQL standard SQL is not supported.

Please have look at Microsoft link for more details on the supported upgrade paths and its versions below:

  • XQuery coding standards

Is there any XQuery codification of the standards to serve at the OSM?
Or Oracle provides all of these standards for naming conventions, the names of variables, respect for case-sensitive etc.?
Or are the standards similar to what we follow for Java?
    Help, please.
    Thanks in advance!

OSM does not dictate a set of XQuery coding guidelines, as it does not for Java. Normally coding guidelines (be it for Java, XQuery or other technologies) would be defined for a given project, based on the best practices and experiences of the system integrator or Service provider that implements OSM.

Given that XQuery is a standard language for the industry, we encourage you to follow the best practices in the industry.

In general, for the code of XQuery product team OSM written that we follow him style and style Java naming conventions where possible. It is a convention that we find reasonable given our team regularly writes and comments both XQuery and Java code with the same naming convention is logical.

If there are additional more specific questions you have on this topic feel free to ask and we will do our best to help you.

  • SQL or Standard report to check AP still not transfer to GL

    Hi all:
Is there a SQL or a Standard report to check AP still not transfer to GL?

    my environment: oracle 11.5.9
    platform: linux red hat 4.0
    database: 9.2.0.8

    Concerning
    Terry

You can run the transfer of accounts payable to General Ledger program to display entries of accountinng which was transferred and not transferred to the General Ledger.

This report contains specific sections that list the entries have been transferred and which did not exist and hopefully also lists the reason why they were not transferred.

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks and greetings

  • Standard SQL base License

I have a server with 32 cores. I need to buy SQL Standard 2014 for this server. 2014 standard SQL supports maximum of 16 cores. Is it possible to use all of the server 32 cores.

For example. If I buy 16 core license and install 2 Standard SQL instances on the server. The two instances will use same 16 hearts or different 16 cores.

Also 1 question is whether I can install multiple SQL instances on the same computer server with single license.

    Hello

There is no way that you can use all 32 cores using an instance of SQL Server Standard Edition 2014

If you install two instances of SQL Server Standard Edition 2014 two instances will use by default the first 16 cores.

Affinity allows you to make use of all the 32 cores using 2 instances: an instance using one-byte affinity mask and the second instance using two-byte affinity mask.

  • SQL Server 2008 Standard Edition download

    Greetings,

I want to install SQL Server 2008 Standard Edition on a dedicated server hosted remotely in a data center. I already bought a server license (DVD), however, now that I want to install it on a dedicated server, I can't use the DVD and I would like to download the Setup program for SQL Server 2008 Standard of MIcrosoft.Com.

-Can you give us the URL to download the edition of SQL Server 2008 (not R2) Standard?
-Is the code/product key that I have on the work of DVD label with SQL Server 2008 R2 trial where I can download is more setup for SQL 2008 Standard?

  • SQL server enterprise edition vs. Standard Edition

    Gurus,
I have about 8 applications on my place of work planning.
We are currently using SQL server enterprise edition.
Now, we are contemplating on using SQL server Standard edition for our development servers.
Y at - there no performance impact on the use of standard edition instead of wide edition.
Please let me know your thoughts.

    Thank you.

    Hello

Standard and Enterprise use the base engine Similarly there is no difference in performance, Enterprise version just had more additional features.

Express version works with Hyperion even if it is not taken in charge, express has the features of the standard maintenance and has a maximum DB size of 4 GB.
