SQL developer 4.1 ea - dragNdrop to false joint

1. I log out all my active connections

2. I opened the connection with a spreadsheet (XXX_BETA)

3. I drag and drop a file (pks or pkb) to this worksheet. The file opens a new tab with another connection (XXX_ALPHA). This new connection is too open. But I don't want the file to be deployed there.

Why not it reuses the existing connection? BTW. the two connections have the same packages. It could be that I opened this package or this file compact alpha. But now I want to deploy BETA version. It is quite surprising and potentially dangerous.

about 1. I don't understand how the 'link to files stored procedures' is supposed to work.

If it's on, (ignoring the additional debugging aid info) compilation (either for debugging or not) associates the file with its connection.  If it is disabled, all associations get deleted.  Turn it back on and see that your files are no longer associated with their last connection of compilation.  If you want to re - associate a file, which requires to make another compilation.

  • Oracle Sql Developer is very slow

    Hello

I ' have a big problem with SQL developer. We have a lot of databases on the connections.xml (about 1600 databases Oracle) file. When we start SQL developer, it took about 10 minutes to open. Can what solutions we use to open this application more quickly?

We have already tried to add this line to the sqldeveloper.conf file:

    AddVMOption - Sqldev.tnsping = false

    But we see no change.

We must have a solution to fix this problem because 10 minutes is much much time to work properly.

What makes it truly Developer SQL in start up to put so much time?

    Best regards.

A bug has been noted, as stated in the post 15 of this discussion. That's the good news, because there was no prior bug in the system for that matter.

There is a performance problem, of course, since the additional startup due to connections time more seems to increase exponentially, rather than (at most) linearly as could be expected.  In other words, on my system...

    1. 23 connections takes no extra time measurable.

    2. 575 connections takes 13 seconds.

    3. 1150 connections takes 53 seconds.

    4. you claim that 1600 connections on your system takes about 10 minutes.

The bug will be reviewed by the developer and probably a better algorithm can be used, or the treatment in question may be delayed or run lazily so it won't slow down the startup.  I don't know when this will happen, however.  If you need urgently, you can follow up with Oracle Support to get a bug associated client id, track progress and present evidence for why it should have priority.

  • Oracle SQL Developer environment encoding

    I have Oracle SQL Developer (3.1.07) and I'm working with a database using WE8ISO8859P1 coding (SELECT * FROM nls_database_parameters setting WHERE = "NLS_CHARACTERSET" ;))

I have problems with the registration of batches that contains unicode symbols. When I open previously saved the package that all unicode symbols are turned to "".

Should what settings I change to keep the SQL Developer these symbols?
I tried to put environment encoding to "ISO-8859-15" and some other encodings, but it won't help. ".

    Published by: 919845 on 2012.9.3 04:44

Short version (if I find time, I'll do better writing upwards).

Your understanding so far is false. If you read carefully, the table [1] is supposed to contain the "games of Unicode characters... as long as some older character sets»

The only current, recommended Oracle db name for Unicode character set is: AL32UTF8. (Read globalization support guide for application of unicode support, etc.)

    Only Iso character sets I know media letter lowercase n cedilla, U + 0146 are 8859-13 (Latin-7) and 8859-10 (Latin-6) (and perhaps 8859-4/Latin-4). 8859-1 and 8859-15 defines that character.
Table A-4 lists the Oracle names for character sets of database that matches the 8859-x character sets for example:
    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E11882_01/server.112/e10729/applocaledata.htm#i635047

So, whatever it is, it seems that you need to change your database character set.

  • SQL Developer Version 3.0.02 really slow to produce results

    Hello

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction here as a SQL Developer on my machine is so slow, that it is virtually unusable (it was not as bad in previous versions but it is possible, that I also have a new JDK since). I open a connection to an Oracle database and the simple type:

    Select a_column a_table where a_column = 1

and click on the green triangle (ctrl + enter). The green triangle and the icons of commit / rollback are going gray and I start counting the seconds rough. I arrive at 30 before the result is displayed and I can do anything and yet it says:

All of the lines read: seconds 1 to 0.002

In sqlplus the exact same query returns immediately. I added - J - Dsdev.insight = false to the command line (as it may slow down the Oracle SQL Developer) but this did not help. I'm running Linux Ubuntu 10.10 with
3353400 KB of memory according to cat/proc/meminfo and my ~/sqldeveloper/jdk file contains:

    /usr/lib/JVM/Java-6-Sun-1.6.0.24

    quality shows:

PID USER PR NOR VIRT RES SHR S % CPU % MEM TIME + COMMAND
    8143 martin 20 0 947 m 462 m 28 m S 6:39.68 2 14.1 java

and this is the only java program I am running.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

    Martin

Yes, there were "dark ages" for the performance of the SQL Dev queries from 30EA1 and 30EA2 (3.0.02).
He said that re-encoding on SQL history was to blame for this.
Unfortunately, there is no satisfactory solution for these versions.
Try at least 30EA3 and better to have production 3.0 a.

  • How to add data to the table changed in sql developer at Apex and vice versa

    Hello

I had tables of database with sql developer. But now, I have modified the database (new tables added + changed the data in the tables). However, in the Apex, I the old database. Is it possible to get the new Apex database with the data of the table changed so this database in both places (sql and apex developer) is exactly the same... Also the other way around.

    Thank you

The database schema that contains the tables, is it associated with the workspace even you are searching through the APEX product t development?  Why I'm asking is, if they are the same schema, the tables that you MODIFIED should be appear in the sql for APEX workshop part.  Now reports and forms will NOT see the changes (unless you have actually added or updated definitions for column).

Can you explain what exactly you were doing the SQL Developer to the tables in your schema?

  • Oracle SQL Developer to the database unifying connection

    Hello community!

I am developing a SQL string that will pull data from various processes of cost (i plan to wrap the dataview object in a cube and publish a dashboard after that). I was wondering if there is any way to connect oracle SQL Developer for oracle hosted instance unify to create code more efficiently? If so, explain the steps for me please?

I can get the following information of Oracle BI Publisher, see Exhibit A.

I have to fill in the fields in Appendix B and this is where I don't know how to do this, see Exhibit B.

    Your help is highly appreciated

    Concerning

    Amir

Hi Amir - there is currently no way to directly connect to the DB for unifying hosted environments. We are currently working on this issue.

In the meantime, you can use the SQL Editor in your BI Publisher server interface. You build instructions SQL can then be pasted in via data in unifying views.

  • Order that SQL Developer Modeler generates objects in DDL download

Little annoying question... When I have an existing data model that includes all of my table definitions and ALSO my package definitions, I try to make a DDL download and load it into an instance of Oracle 11g and get an error on a procedure declaration does not have a column type.

What I see is when I open the prepared ddl script, the package is created until the table is under construction.  Is it possible I can tell SQL Developer Data Modeler to build like objects together (table, then sequences and then triggers and packages and procedures/functions?

SQL Developer Data model version 4.1.3 Oracle database 11g r2...

    Thank you

    Tony Miller
    Los Alamos, NM

    Hi Tony,.

Data Modeler generates at the beginning of the Package definitions in the DDL file, so that they appear before the objects such as Tables, views, and triggers that may refer to them.

And the Package body are generated at the end, so that they can refer to Tables and views.

Unfortunately there is no option to change the sequence of generation.

In general, the Data Modeler takes dependencies between objects into account to generate the DDL file objects in a proper order.

However, it does not detect the dependencies TYPE %.  I connected an enhancement request to add to its dependency checking (22581821).

  • Cannot modify most user Source in SQL Developer

    Hello

I created an Oracle 12.1.0.2 database container called DEVELOP and responsible for 11 GR 2 one hundred packages and 600 tables with hundreds of pages of APEX 5.0.

I did it using IMPDP and applications run well in the 5.0.2 APEX I just tested all applications.

Each version of SQL Developer (4.1.2 4.1.3 and the version that comes with 12 c for download) does not allow me to edit any package, procedure, function, or type.

All I see is "CREATE or REPLACE.

I can see all the tables and data.

I saw some problems that appear which suggested using 12.1.0.2 if that happen which I use.

I create a window using the SYSDBA account for the container, then:

    Select * from DBA_OBJECTS where owner = 'LSDB' and object_type = 'PACKAGE '.

I see all of my packages.

I create a window in the account for these objects, called LSDB can:

When I run select * from USER_OBJECTS where type_objet = 'PACKAGE '. I see all my packages, for example.

When I run select NAME DISTINCT from USER_SOURCE; I don't see any source at all code, even if I can right-click on each package of SQL Developer and download the entire package in a window and modify the set.

The source code is somewhere else, simply not visible to the process tree viewer that seems.

    I don't see many discussions on this issue for 12 c 12.1.0.2.

Because it is a test of 12 c, I gave all the roles and privileges for the LSDB account.

I am new to 12 c and Developer SQL 4.1.x. and I'm not a magician to the inner workings of the Oracle or SQL Developer, this behavior seems very strange to me.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Bernie

    Jeff,

Here is the right solution to this problem.

This problem was caused by a failure to completely put the PDB container $ SEEDS at 32K extended varchar2 objects.

The pluggable DEVELOP database has been upgraded to 32K VARCHAR2 objects correctly, but APB$ SEEDS was not.

This resulted in an Oracle ORA-14696 error when you create a new database plug-in, DEVELOP2.

Once the PDB database $ SEED container has been properly upgraded to 32K VARCHAR2 objects using the following code, Developer SQL displays all the source properly, and the new database plug-in DEVELOP2 could also be created.

You can close this topic and thanks for your help.

  • Partitions don't synchronize only not - Oracle SQL Developer 4.1.3.20

    Hello

First of all, thanks a lot for developers for this great tool.

I use the Data Modeler which comes with Oracle SQL Developer 4.1.3.20.

In the 12 c database, I created the following table:

    CREATE

    TABLE MMOURA. TEST_TABLE

    (

NUMBER OF ID_TEST_TABLE (10) NOT NULL

    DATE_TEST_TABLE DATE NOT NULL

    )

    ORGANIZATION HEAP PCTFREE 10

    LOGGING NOCOMPRESS NO INMEMORY

    NOCACHE NOPARALLEL NOROWDEPENDENCIES DISABLE THE MOVEMENT OF THE LINE;

I import with Data Modeler and add the partition:

    CREATE

    TABLE MMOURA. TEST_TABLE

    (

NUMBER OF ID_TEST_TABLE (10) NOT NULL

    DATE_TEST_TABLE DATE NOT NULL

    )

ORGANIZATION HEAP PCTFREE 10 TABLESPACE SYSTEM NOT LOGGING NOCOMPRESS NO INMEMORY RANGE PARTITION

    (

    DATE_TEST_TABLE

    )

    INTERVAL OF

    (

    NUMTOYMINTERVAL (1, 'MONTH')

    )

    (

    PARTITION P_BEFORE_2010 VALUES LESS THAN (TO_DATE (JANUARY 1, 2010 ',' DD/MM/YYYY "")) NOCOMPRESS

    )

    NOCACHE NOPARALLEL NOROWDEPENDENCIES DISABLE THE MOVEMENT OF THE LINE;

So I can create a partition and generates the correct code.

I click on "Synchronize data dictionary with model" and see the differences with the model and the database.

In the models 'compare', 'Physical Details' is red. 'Partition' is red, "Selected" are marked, "Source table: TEST_TABLE ' is YES and" target Table: TEST_TABLE "is no.

"Partitioning" is marked, and I can see the new partition "P_BEFORE_2010."

    teste_partition_chamado_oracle.png

But when I click on 'Overview of DOF', theres no changes:

What I am doing wrong? Is this some sort of bug?

    Hi Marcio,

I'm afraid that data Modeler does not "DOF Preview" statements for changes in the distribution.

  • SQL Developer to crash at startup.

I made several attempts using different versions of SQL Developer and different versions of Java on the machine with Microsoft Windows 8.1 Build Enterprise (x 64) 9600.

    sqldeveloper - 4.0.1.14.48 - no - jre.zip 235,385,812

    sqldeveloper - 4.1.2.20.64 - no - jre.zip 329,066,864

    sqldeveloper64 - 3.2.20.09.87 - no - jre.zip 182,052,469

    sqldeveloper - 4.1.3.20.78 - no - jre.zip 331,401,110

    Example of process:

    (1) files extracted to sqldeveloper - 4.1.2.20.64 - no - jre.zip

    (2) run sqldeveloper

    (3) window appears asking you to JDK home - click 'Browse '.

    (4) access to the Java/jdk1.8.0_65 - click on "select a folder.

    (5) confirm the path with "OK".

    (6) beginning of the program - the start screen flashes on the screen, but for a short period of time (tenths of a second).

    (7) nothing else is happening.

    (8) for execution sqldeveloper again not questions about the JDK. All splash screen (once again just flash).

    (9) in the Manager of tasks (details) I see for about a half second the process 'sqldeveloper64W.exe '.

I've tried combinations of different JDK and version of the SQL Developer - some versions display warning on the supported Java versions.

The latest version I managed to run (ignoring warning) 3.2.20.09 has been building hand - 09.87 using java jdk1.8.0_65.

No luck with all versions 4 +.

I also tried to collect debugging information as described in http://www.thatjeffsmith.com/archive/2012/06/how-to-collect-debug-info-for-oracle-sql-developer/

First attempt was unsuccessful - screen displayed for the second half and then again in line with command prompt is displayed in the CMD window.

I tried several times and finally was fast enough to press ctr + pause/break in this short time.

I tried it with versions 4.1.2.20.64 and 4.1.3.20.78. The latest is here:

Apparently. Director of the company may shed some light on why this is true. In practice, you can try to force the SQL Developer user settings in a local folder that is writable, discutΘ in: problem starting sql developer 4.1.1.19.59

    SQL Developer:

Status: Failure-Test failed: listener refused the connection with the following error:

ORA-12505, TNS:listener is not currently of SID given in connect descriptor

As another reviewer said Oracle 12 c requires SERVICE_NAME and no SID to connect to the PDB files.

What is a database of the container

So, what is the big advantage in this configuration, you may ask? Couldn't we have just created several ordinary vanilla instead of several PDB databases? Yes, we could have; but each of these 'plain vanilla' databases would have then his own load of instance (process and memory). PDB do not have an instance associated with them, eliminating this overload. Let's look at the installer with an example. Suppose you have a CBD (database container - the real database that hosts the other PDB files) called CONA, who has a calledPDB1 of the PDB. If you check the Oracle instance, you will see that there is one - that of the CBD. First, let's check the ORACLE_SID:

    [oracle@prosrv1 ~]$ echo $ORACLE_SID CONA

That's all. There is only a single SID; not one for each PDB. Then we will check the process, especially very important that known as 'pmon ":

See this last sentence above? See this line in the status of listening port you have posted?

    Service "Pdb1" has 1 instance (s).

Pdb1 has a 'service' - a SERVICE_NAME allows to connect to him and all other PDB files.

Can someone guide me to solve this problem.

    Kind regards

Can someone guide me to solve this problem.

No - not in this forum.

This forum is ONLY for questions about Sql Developer.

Please mark the thread ANSWERED and repost it in SQL and PL/SQL forum.

    SQL and PL/SQL

When you repost you will need to provide the DDL for the table you are trying to update.

Some columns have NOT NULL constraints that do NOT allow you to put them to null.

  • SQL Developer Exchange (partly) broken

Sorry for the brutal grip, but I tried to address this for quite a long time: "Public reports" part of SQL Developer Exchange (https://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=43135:24:NO:RP:) seems to be at a standstill for 2011 (sic!). There is nothing to do with a younger timestamp, nor can I publish reports autodéfinies.

Another strange thing is that there is no contact information on the site SQLDev Xchange. That's why I'm posting here instead of posting an admin directly.

I've marked it as a question so here goes: this part of the site will never be fixed?

    Care to come shamelessly:

I would like to share my reports user-defined somewhere central and well known, but for the moment I put in place a public on GitHub repository to fill the void. You are welcome.

    See you soon,.

    Uwe

We built a new Exchange, we just need to activate it

It will not start with a mechanism for sharing of reports/snippets originally... we could also build in a mechanism to pull things like this down directly from github

    contact information for the Exchange
