SQL Developer, wrong file name registration

Hello

I use generation SQL Developer 4.0.2.15 15.21 on Windows7 Enterprise 64-bit. Recently, I found that when I save the contents of the pane out of the Script (by clicking on the floppy disk icon) and use the select a file to replace dialog box, SQL Developer is overwhelming in fact another file in the same directory.

I already tried to restart SQL Developer, restart Windows and rename the properties - preferences.xml to force SQL Developer for the re - create (in case it has been altered in some way), but I still see the same behavior.

My current workaround is to manually type the name of the existing file in the dialog "Save" to save a new copy.

Anyone have any ideas on what could be the problem or how I could try to fix this? I searched the usual sources (google, this forum and My Oracle Support) but have not found anything similar with the exception of "

    I have a project that was originally named "a-z_project_revised." I renamed from the project "a-z_project_chapter 238." The project file is called "a-z_project_chapter 238.xpj." When I publish my project, .hhc, .hhk, .hhp, .syn, .glo, .cpd, .brs, .ign, .lpd, .log, .phr, .ppf, .pss and being named .stp files "-z_project_revised.xxx." I'm trying to understand why this happens because I think that it is in conflict with another project that contains the files named the same. Both sit on my Web server.

    The problem is the research seems to work on a project, and not the other, and I was wondering if maybe the projects with the same named .syn file are in conflict one another.

    Here is the log file. If you look at the top line, you can see that the project name is one thing, but the destination project name is another. Why is this? How can I get the destination project name to match the name of the project?

  • How can I change where SQL Developer search files?

    I bring scripts to create a database schema. The installation script looks like this
    @run_install_1.sql
    @run_install_2.sql
    @run_install_3.sql
    Some of these scripts themselves called files.

    I was running quite happily in SQL Developer for a few weeks now (well except for [url http://forums.oracle.com/forums/message.jspa?messageID=3616772#3616772] another this bug). However, now I am trying to get my colleagues to run scripts but they fail. The output of the script says
    Unable to open file "@My documents/run_install_1.sql" (or whatever).
    Basically SqlD is pick up their default directory instead on research in the same directory as the file calling.

    Of course, I managed to change this behavior, but for the life of me I don't know how. It doesn't seem to be an obvious preference to put this.

    Cheers, APC

    blog: http://radiofreetooting.blogspot.com

    OK, well I guess it's a bad news good news story. It is important that you set the directory explicitly in SQL Developer. The good news is that the scripts are now both worked. The bad news is that they don't seem to work when you tried before (can concede typo perhaps?) Also that the @ is not such as you wish. So we have an ER to open a session on this.

    I am sure that we all have in the product of the areas that are important and it's one I use a lot, because I'm always rebuilding my test environment, so when my scripts fail, I'm not happy. ;-)

    In the settings of this directory setting, if indeed you run into inconsistencies. Let us know.

  • network file names are incorrect

    I know this isn't a new problem, but it's one that I just found playing with my network. What I see, it's incorrect file names when I discover a directory of files on another system.

    My network consists of three computers: (1) a laptop running Windows Vista Home Premium 64 - bit edition with service pack 2; (2) a laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit edition with service pack 1; and (3) a desktop computer running Windows XP Home Edition 32 - bit edition with service pack 3. The two laptops are connected to the network via a wireless connection and the desktop computer is connected via a wired Ethernet connection. All systems are up to date, as of the writing of this message (05/04/2011).

    Incorrect file names appear between two laptops, while the XP system sees the correct file names.

    To be explicit, let's say I'm on portable 2 and I open the directory Public/Public/Sample image images on laptop 1. the file names of the images I see are incorrect. For example, one of the images is named "Chrysanthemum" but when I open the image I see "stream". Now, the actual image on laptop 1 is called "Creek", but it was misnamed in the directory listing as "Chrysanthemum". So what I actually see what's actually on the laptop 1, but it has the wrong name. Now, this is where it gets weird: the wrong file name, in this case "Chrysanthemum", is actually the name of an image on laptop 2.

    This behavior is reflected when I'm on portable 1 and I opened the users/Public/Public/Sample image images on laptop 2. In this case, one of the images is named 'Toco Toucan' but when I open the image I see "Medusa". Now, the actual image on laptop 2 is named "Jellyfish", but it was poorly named in the list as "Toco Toucan" of directories. And once again, in this case 'Toco Toucan' is the name of an image on laptop 1.

    The designation of bad is a bit random. In other words, some pictures are named incorrectly, and some are named correctly.

    Interestingly, if I find the directories of portable 1 and 2 computers in the XP system, I see the correct file names. And vice versa, if I find the directory from the desktop to a laptop, I see the correct file names. So, the problem seems to be unique for transactions between Windows Vista and Windows 7 systems.

    If I create a shortcut of the file name of the image, the properties of the shortcut will reveal the name of the file to the real destination. For example, if I create a shortcut of the Toco Toucan, the properties of the shortcut display \\laptop 2\Users\Public\Pictures\Sample Pictures\Jellyfish.jpg.

    Looking for some references to this problem on the Internet has been very difficult due to the complexity of the problem, but I could find only one reference which seems to describe the problem, it is however an old reference (April 8, 2007): http://www.eggheadcafe.com/software/aspnet/29691878/incorrect-filenames.aspx

    There are indeed from the Thumbs.db files in those directories, however, their removal does not correct the problem.

    Has anyone else encountered this problem? Y at - it a fix for the problem? I can't believe that this problem has not been resolved by Microsoft.

  • Oracle SQL Developer - File, Open, file name do not accept UNC path shape

    In Oracle SQL Developer, at least the file, open (dialogue), the name of the file (if not all the files / directory name) text box (s) is (are) not accepting, at least for me, the UNC form folders on network servers. The same UNC path (or UNC paths in general) work in the file / directory from all other Windows application name text box, I tried (from Windows 95 to Windows 7). Is there a way to do this? If not, it was intentional and where can I suggest this as a fix / development?

    I use Windows XP with SP3.

    Hi 906421-

    SQLDeveloper is written in java and runs on several operating systems. He uses (a derivative of) the standard java file picker. That said, I can see where it would be useful to add support for the UNC.

    You can add this to the Feature Requests to the SQL Developer Exchange. This is not only ensures we remember, but gives other users the chance to bring their vote for the feature and provides a forum for you (the user base) reflect on how you prefer it works.

    How can I fix?

    Thank you all!

    J man,

    I'm not a pro at Oracle XE, but I would say that this is not a problem of SQL * Developer, but the listener of OracleXE.
    Now, I'm in total guessing game mode:
    find the "listener.ora" file in your Oracle installation (from [url http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17781_01/server.112/e18804/network.htm#ADMQS168] this document is c:\oraclexe\app\oracle\product\11.2.0\server\NETWORK\ADMIN\listener.ora
    I'm sure that it is coded in the old hostname, simply replace it with the new host name.
    Restart your receiver and please try to connect again.

  • Uninstalling SQL Server Compact 3.5 for devices error 1325.Documents is not a valid short file name.

    I tried to uninstall all parts of SQL Server Compact Edition 3.5 v (there were 3 parts); the third part, which is

    Microsoft SQL Server Compact 3.5 for Devices - ENU

    will not uninstall and I get an error message, which has in its title "Microsoft SQL Server Compact 3.5 for Devices", (which seems to me indicate that he might be from the application itself?)

    READING: "error 1325.Documents is not a valid short file name."

    Is there a valid way to uninstall this, given the problem - or an another workaround?

    I hope that it is not bad form to reply to my post (!), but I am pleased to announce that this Microsoft utility fixed my problem. I ran it, it looked for my system, then asked me if I wanted to uninstall or install a program, I chose to uninstall, it sought then yet once showed me a list of installed programs. I have selected SQL Server Compact 3.5 for Devices in the list. They asked me if I want to uninstall it (I think that - already done and I do not remember)-anyway, I welcomed the utility for uninstall and there was no problem. It is very useful. I don't know if the source of the error and this solution is specific to windows 7 64 bit, which is what my DELL Latitude E6530 is running, or if it is a general problem and fix. I'll never know the root cause, but at least I can go forward.

    Basically, you can just open them via file - open, or through Windows Explorer. Then, assign him the login in the upper right and run the Script (F5).

    You tables apex are in the schema attached to the workspace of your applications.

  • When you connect, SQL Developer, you use the schema to username and password
  • When you connect using your developer account, you use the Apex workspace account details (but when change the DB using the workspace that it accesses the schema using the schema and password you had linked to the workspace)

    Hope that's clear.

    I found no option to do this, I'm under it from Windows using SQL Developer machine.
    then I expect output file will be stored on the server of Ora machine, right? There is probably no option for Oracle to store on the local computer of W.

  • SQL Developer 3.0 EA1 creates account names case senstive

    Hello

    When you create a new account with SQL Developer 3.0 EA1, the username is enclosed in quotes. This creates an account name of case-sensitive which creates problems when you try to sign. Historically, the account names have been converted to uppercase internally and during the logon sequence this is expected behavior. Not sure why SQL Developer 3.0 EA1 team has chosen to start encapsulating user names when creating quotes?

    Example of a create user statement of 2.0

    -SQL USER
    Why_this_old_way CREATE USER IDENTIFIED BY scott;

    -ROLES
    GRANT "RESOURCE" FOR why_this_old_way;
    GRANT "CONNECT" to why_this_old_way.

    Example of a create user statement of 3.0 EA1.

    -SQL USER
    CREATE USER 'why_this_new_way' IDENTIFIED BY scott;

    -ROLES
    GRANT the "RESOURCE" to "why_this_new_way";
    GRANT 'CONNECT' to 'why_this_new_way ';

    Having the names of case-sensitive objects significantly increases the complexity unnecessarily, please do not implement this approach.

    Scott K.

    There was a change made to address another issue that caused this problem. I supported this behavior will return following EA (when it exists) or the Production version.

  • In SQL Developer Table CSV file import

    Hi all - I'm trying to use SQL Developer to import data into a CSV file in one of my paintings. (I'm trying to see if I can get out without using SQL Loader). Among the data elements must be cut before it will be insert in the database column, but I see no way to do it in the Import Wizard SQL Developer (step 3 of 4). I wonder if there is a way to do it.

    Thank you.

    I saw all the options on the CSV import, which will allow for the manipulation of file before importing.
