SQLLite on Webwork application resp.

Hi guys

Well I've been playing webworks, I have a webworks app application using SQLLite to access a massive load of data from the database. I went to sqllite because I wanted this data to be stored locally within the fon one can access it without needing my fon have internet or waiting to load the page.

But my problem is due to the fact that my database has a large amount of data and I don't no that so that it can be created from screatch in my code. Since I am doing already hv the database sqllite file, how do I apply to always read the path no matter what I specify when reading from the database. I want to deploy my application with the database without, so I want the database to be located in the my applications webworks directory and still read it from there. How to apply to read database file which I kept without the application directory.

Kind regards

(newbie webworks)

I don't know if WebWorks natively supports database "external." In other words, even if precompile you the database SQLite and package it as a resource, I think not that there are methods to access.

You could probably write an extension to do this, but it would be a major effort.

  • OS5 stops Javascript when the backlight is off or time > 10 seconds - is this a problem for the WebWorks applications?

    I read that the OS5 browser stops all scripts once the backlight turns off, or if the script takes longer than 10 seconds to run. The problem is that the scripts will automatically restart (!). I really hope this isn't the case for the WebWorks applications, I can't have the app stop working if the backlight turns off. If the general development of BB moves towards HTML5 and JS and expects to have success, this kind of problem cannot exist.

    WebWorks for OS5 doing?

    No, this time-out does not occur for applications WebWorks... only for pages running in the browser.

  • Android/iOS with WebWorks applications?

    A Blackberry native application developer for a long time, I do the jump-platform with HTML5/CSS/JavaScript. Since WebWorks is essentially implemented Blackberry of Cordova, as long as I didn't use Blackberry own plugins I thought I'd be able to use Webworks to build for Android and iOS in more 10 Blackberry. Unfortunately, I can't add Android WebWorks as target a platform. Now I wonder if WebWorks is able to establish for non-Blackberry platforms or it is locked.

    Can someone tell me if I return to Cordoba or how to add the Android platform to WebWorks, if this is supposed to be possible?

    Thank you.

    I have seen this before when the Android SDK has not been configured correctly.

    Read the guide to the platform and bring attention to environment variables and path parameters that are needed.

  • Webworks Application error 'could not read a file file://.

    I properly packed and loaded my first Webworks app on my Playbook. Now that I have here, I need test and debug. The application works fine on my local IIS computer so I knew that I should make some adjustments for the Playbook. Now that I'm here, I don't know how to do in this regard.

    When I run the application on the Playbook, I get this error as soon as it starts:

    Unknown network error

    The application is an HTML5 app that used jquery (not the mobile version again), web services, css and images. I have all the js, css and images files in subfolders. Then when I zipped the applications I have selected all HTML pages and subfolders. I guess that was the correct way to go for that package manager is run without problem.

    To the best of my understanding from what I've read, it seems that a Blackberry Webworks application stops running in the background. If this is true, is there a way to make a request of webworks continue to operate even in the background?

    Thank you very much for your time.

  • BES 4.1.7 OTA application WebWorks - camera problem

    We build a webworks application, using sdk webworks 2.3.1 for OS smartphone devices.

    If we push the application manually in a dev machine to the phone via a usb cable, we are able to take photos and the photo stream app.  Our problem is that if deploy us the application on a server bes on a DIRECT phone, we cannot use the camera (nothing happens - the camera app is not open)

    Usually, when manually push us to a phone which we are presented with a dialog box advanced to allow the camera to be used by the application permissions, this happens when it is deployed using bes.  This suggests it might be a problem with the it policy, everyone had a similar problem and found a solution?

    Problem solved.

    In order for the camera to work from our application, we need set the event Injection allowed in default of the Application control policies.

  • Make a keyboard WebWorks BB10 compatible applications for Q10

    Hello

    Asked me to wear a WebWorks application originally designed for the Z10 to the Q10.

    One of the requirements is to make the application compatible keyboard.

    What they mean by that, is that, in the application, a user is presented with a series of options on the screen; A, B, C, D.

    On the Z10, they can only use the touchscreen, but they want users on a Q10 to keypress A, B, C or D and who trigger this selection as option.

    Is this available in th WebWorks API?

    Yes, you can do it with event listeners and the keypress or keydown events.

    When a user presses keyboard events, these events are triggered, and then you can map them to appropriate the JavaScript functionality.

    Here is an example that illustrates the main events:

    http://BlackBerry.github.IO/WebWorks-samples/kitchenSink/HTML/browser/KEYEVENTS.html

    Here is a code snippet that should help you to solve your problem:

    window.addEventListener("load", function(ee) {

       document.addEventListener("keydown", function(e) {
          var theChar = String.fromCharCode(e.keyCode);

          switch(theChar) {

             case "a":
                alert("a");
                break;

             case "b":
                alert("b")
                break;
             default:
                alert("unsupported char : " + theChar)
          }

       },  false);

    }, false);

  • Using Webworks database in Java.

    Hi all.

    Just a quick question. Is it possible to use/access/write in a database created by an application of webworks (using javascript) in a java application built eclipse?

    I've already tried it and of course it is encrypted. I tried to copy the file, open a file connection and copy the data from the original file to the copy and then open the copy, as other people mentioned, but it is always encrypted. I believe that this method is only to overcome a java built the database previously saved on a SD card that uses only the card encryption.

    Of what my research has shown is that webwork applications automatically encrypt it to the databases. So I'm assuming that only a webworks application can decrypt this type of database and there is no way that a created Java application will be able to access. I hope that's not true!

    Thanks for your time guys!

    Rob

    According to http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Web-and-WebWorks-Development/Database-problem-in-the-webworks, the PB is encrypted and cannot be opened with the key stored in the webworks app.

  • Set the Lockscreen Wallpaper (WebWorks)

    Hey,.

    is it possible in any way to set the wallpaper of the Lockscreen from Webworks application?

    The plugin system allows me only to regular wallpaper (blackberry.system.setWallpaper).

    We badly need this feature

    PS: it seems to be possible if I invoke the pictureeditor with option setwallpaper (she gives the Selector screen), but I will not have the option 'Save a copy' in there... is possible to refuse this option?

    ... it would be cool to have the same option for lockscreen as blackberry.system.setWallpaper.

    I would like to write my own plugin, but I can't c + c++ code / native

    Thank you

    I guess. @twindsor done made a great plugin model that might get you in the right direction at least. I would use the Yeoman version of generator.

  • Deployment error when I deploy my application world Hello to device of BB curve 8900

    I am facing deployment error while I deply to device Iam using the version of the sdk webworks: BlackBerry WebWorks SDK 2.3.1.5

    IAM using the webworks said above, windows 8 64-bit system, when I deploy it in the Simulator for other versions I see global demand for Hello in the emulator to ripple, but when I try to look for 8900 device that is not listed in the webworks platform why is it so?

    My camera works with OS 4.6.1, then how to deploy my application world Hello to this device of curve 8900?
    If the JDE or jre must be downgraded on 4.6.1 how? I need to change my environment variable

    Someone in a pile on flow said like that. "

    You as a developer WebWorks don't treat BrowserField instance, but your app to launch and work, needs this new implementation of the BrowserField class that supports the required functionality.

    Software more former device does not support the feature that provides new BrowserField. And as a result, it is not possible to launch WebWorks applications on older devices OS-es to 5.0.
    "So do I need higher version OS to run my application helloworld on my device.

    SDK BlackBerry WebWorks 2.3.1.5 has a requirement of BlackBerry OS 5.0 because of the new BrowserField object (which has been introduced in BBOS 5.0 that you noted.) You will not be able to deploy a WebWorks to any device that runs a pre - 5.0 operating system.
