SRM INstall - cannot update the Installation of Perl directories.

I get an error when I try and install SRM. Sometimes almost to the end and then an error occurs stating.

Failed update installation directories Perl.

Details:

Cannot open the 'C:\PROGRA~2\VMware\VMware' perl script: no such file or directory

Press Retry to try again or Cancel to exit the installation.

Environmental specifications are:

I'm on a Windows 2008 R2 VM with SQL 2008 Ent R1 64 bit installed.

1 vCPU

2 GB OF RAM,

C: 40GB,

D: 10 GB

Used Installer - Vmware srm - 4.1.0 - 267817

I want to install to "C:\Program Files (x 86) \VMware\VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager\.

* Note that the difference between the installation path and the path of the error. The installer is truncating the directory path.

I tried to install to multiple locations, including the D: and also change the names of directory structure thinking the lengths of inventories had something to do with it. Whatever the names of directory, the installer truncates the path.

I use the installer with administrator privileges (R, click Run as Admin) and have also tried to run the installer in compatibility mode.

I also tried to solve the problem using the suggestions located below with no luck. http://KB.VMware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US & cmd = displayKC & externalId = 1023191

Someone at - it ideas? I searched high and low and havn't found a solution.

Thank you

JKasal

Try turning off the UAC (User Account Control). :

1. start, click principally made programs, accessories, click Run, type secpol.msc in the Open box, and then click OK.

2. If the user account control dialog box appears, confirm that the displayed action corresponds to what you want and then click on continue...

3. in the local security settings console tree, double-click local policies, and then double-click Security Options.

4 scroll down and double-click user account control: run all administrators in Admin Approval Mode.

5. Select the option disabled and then click OK.

6. close the local security settings window.

Cannot install and update the apps store of windows 8. When I click the button install is not install only loadin. Plese help me.

After trying all suggestions from several sites, I found that the problem is that the Firewall window must be running in order for the applications to install.   If you are running Windows 8 Pro, go to the desktop and click on "My computer" and double click on 'manage '.  In the window on the left side computer management, expand "Services and Applications".   Click on 'Services', in the Center window, scroll down to "Windows Firewall" right click on "Windows Firewall" and click "Properties".  If the Startup Type is "disabled", click to drop down and select "Automatic".  At this point, you can click on 'Start' under the service status.  Once the Windows Firewall is started, you should be able to start installing and or update your apps from the app store.

KB2628259 doesn't install, cannot create the directory or file. Anyone know of a solution?

    Hi dakota25,

    ·         Did you do changes on the computer before the show?

    ·         You are able to install other updates successfully?

    ·         You get the error message?

    Follow these methods.

Method 1: Temporarily disable the security software.

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Method 2: Put the computer in a clean boot state to see if there is a software conflict as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353

Note: After completing the steps in the clean boot troubleshooting, follow the section How to configure Windows to use a Normal startup state of the link to return the computer to a Normal startupmode.

After the clean boot used to resolve the problem, you can follow these steps to configure Windows XP to start normally.

    (a) click Start, run.

    (b) type msconfigand click OK.

    (c) the System Configuration Utility dialog box appears.

    (d) click the general tab, click Normal startup - load all services and device drivers and then click OK.

    (e) when you are prompted, click on restart to restart the computer.

Method 3: You can also manually install updates (KB number) by downloading from the Microsoft Download Center.
