  I was faced with difficulties to install Power CLI 4.0 or 5.1, even though the application of Powershell 2.0 SDK is installed, I get an error saying that Powershell is not installed, even if its installed, do not know why this problem occurs, can anyone provide some solution for me in this regard?   I'm attaching to deploy virtual computer using power CLI but I get the error like below below:

  It seems that if you have more than 1 model with that name in your vCenter.

  to check it out.

  If you want to use a specific template, you will need to find a distinctive feature.

• Failure of power CLI remove Datastore

  The Installation of ESXi generates a "datastore1".

  The name is keysensitive, because it is not possible to generate an additional "datastore1".

  I have the following problem:

  the command remove-data store with the parameter of the data store name cannot remove the data store,

  What you can do to remove a specific data store, is to use the operator - ceq PowerShell which performs a case-sensitive comparison. Something like:

  Get-Datastore | Where-Object { $_.Name -ceq "Datastore1" } | Remove-Datastore
  

  If you want to remove both you can do:

  Get-Datastore | Where-Object { $_.Name -eq "Datastore1" } | Remove-Datastore

  ESX 4.1 is not mentioned in the VMware vSphere PowerCLI 5.1 Release 1 Release Notes. This means that it is not supported. In this case, you can better keep PowerCLI 5.0. Or upgrade to PowerCLI 5.0.1 you can download from http://www.vmware.com/downloads/download.do?downloadGroup=PCLI501.

  I'm trying to extract some 250 guests after HBA information multiple clusters:

  -Type HBAS

  -Firmware version

  -Version of the driver

  -Version of the BIOS

  I know that all this information is given to help through "cat/proc/scsi/qla2xxx/x" command but I'm looking for a way to this script, and it exported in a CSV with topics similar to the cluster, host name, type HBAS, firmware HBA, HBA BIOS driver.

  I came across a few scripts that some people very smart here have written, IE "HBA information: PowerCLI" and "Details of the HBA hardware get" however:

  1. I'm lead to believe that these scripts work on, not on ESX and ESXi host

  2. in the execution of the script, I get after error message:

  Invoke-Expression: the ' < ' operator is reserved for future use.

• Power CLI - stays on the screen progress bar

  I a scrpt PowerShell autmatically creates a new snapshot, then deletes all previous snapshots. He also powere down and power up the VM.

  In all cases bar one the progress bar if poster while the operation takes place, then disappears when the operation is complete.

  The case where there is:

  $sn = get-snapshot $machinename

  ......

  Remove-snapshot - snapshot £sn-[2] - confirm: $false

  The progress bar remains until I have finished the script. What a pity that my script is intended for a loop continuously and perform a task automated when a file is placed in a folder.

  What can I do to get rid of this progress bar?

  You can try to use the Remove-Snapshot - RunAsync parameter.
