Transmitting the power of version 3.1 of the WAP54G

Hello

someone at - it known the transmitting power (in mw) of version 3.1 of the WAP54G?

Thank you.

This is the firmware part only third I know for the WAP54G V3.x with the function you're looking for without a lot of other useless to play. Simply go to advanced wireless settings, select the power and configuration of the antenna and your done.

Note: The maximum power output is 84mw, and change it to any value that has no effect. Something like netstumbler to measure the new signal at the level of the customer in order to give you an idea on the comparative difference in signal.

  • Improvement of the reception of the WAP54G - advice needed

Hi, I got hung a pair of units WAP54G, down the bridge of 100 meters from our House, in a holiday home.  One is connected to our router, the second is in the remote region, with a switch, then a third WAP54G distribute the signal in this remote area.

This set works like a charm, BUT as it is a holiday home, we really need to put out of sight, bridge unit in the loft.  For the moment that it is in the direct line of sight to another unit, they are both on the window sills.  It's OK, but we'd like to get the second bridge out of sight to keep people from bothering with it.  I tried to put in the same position as on the windowsill, but in the loft, where he is originally of cladding (no brick etc, just wood and plastic), but he can't see the other device when it is in this position.

Are there branches that I would be able to buy to give a better reception on this bridge? Ideally I'd like a pair of outdoor units I can screw to the wall on the respective buildings and then put a short cable (2-3metres) back inside the units.  This brings me to the second part of the query - boxes have two antennas on the back of them.  When I set up an antenna to gain high only just leave the second OEM stick to the back of the unit, or what? If these antennas be deployed as symmetrical pairs, or anything like that?

I'm really happy for the operation of the system, on the whole, I want just a small extra reception!

Thanks much for any reply and the advice on that.

There are a number of commercially available external antennas. Anything with 7dbi or better should work fine. The connector is referred to as a RP - TNC

Just mount the WAP54G near the antenna in order to reduce the length of antenna cable and mount the external antenna (outdoor) on the map of the barge and your outside.

Get power and Ethernet for the WAP54G should be very simple.

  • Why will my router stops transmitting the internet signal after that I turned off the host computer?

    Hi members of the community.

    first of all, my setup:

modem - router (wrt320n lynksis, yesterday I uplodaded latest firmware - it does not help)---(par câble), PC (windows 8)
    l
    l
various devices (cable TV, wireless: laptop computer (windows XP), phones (Iphone, android, phone etc.))
    Second question:
Until now, I had no problem with router, but as I connected the new PC, with windows 8 is installed, the router, I began to encounter the following problem: I turn the host computer (wired, PC with windows 8) off after a minute or two the router (if not always on) continues to transmit the internet signal with other devices (wired (TV) and other wireless).  What's also interesting is that, when I unplug the PC from the router ethernet cable (when the PC is turned off), the router begins to function normally. Why and how to fix it? It seems that the PC would stop the router in the transmission of the signal.
I would apreciate any help I could get. Because the router is working otherwise fine (when the computer host is turned on when the PC is disconnected from the it), I guess it has something to do with the windows configuration.
    Thank you all,.
    Sincerelly, Janez

Hi there... we have a different router, but I had exactly the thing happens to me when my husband bought his new computer. After hours of technical support that gave no results of our router manufacturer, I did some research on the web, a vast and I think I found the solution.

Go to control panel > system and security > system > Device Manager > network adapters > find your network card (mine says in time real PCIe GBE) open cela, go to power management and uncheck the BOX allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.

After that I did that my router is no longer turns off/goes to sleep when my computer is. Offshore.

Give that a try, and if all goes well, it will help you too.

  • E4200 dual-band transmitting the question?

Recently upgraded to a Wireless-N of E4200 to a WRT 610N router router.

After the switch my wireless devices (who can see and use the two strips with the WRT 610N) are only to see the 2.4 Ghz, not the 5 GHz band?  I tried with 3 laptops and a computer at home, and they don't see 1 network.  I guess that's the band 2.4 GHz at least?

I used the Cisco Connect software to implement the E4200 and it never gave me a chance to appoint the double strips separately as it did with the WRT610N.  It is during the installation with the WRT610N, he proposed the same SSID for networks, but he just added a '_media' until the end of the 5 GHz band.

I have exactly the same name for both bands on the E4200, would it be the obvious problem and I need to just add something at the end of the SSID for the 5 GHz range, and we'll see?

    Thanks in advance!

    Robert

If you configure the same SSID on both bands you won't see a single network during the analysis. Configure the different SSID if you want to distinguish between the bands.

  • Transmitting the internal format with POF

I would like to put a bunch of objects in internal format on the client side, put them inside a processor of entry and then insert them under the name 'directly' in a backingmap on the server side.

My question is that the most effective (target =) way to send internal data with POF (since the data are already in POF serialized format is should be quick).

  • Cannot access the WAP54G after firmware upgrade

I have updated the firmware of my WAP54G v.2; We just started to use the AP again and when I checked, I thought I would update. I was going to 1.2 or 1.4 to the latest firmware using this link http://homesupport.cisco.com/en-us/wireless/lbc/WAP54G, version 2. I could see the AP before starting my Dlink router. I downloaded the firmware and the upgrade of the access point. She completed successfully, but when I tried it I could reach him is no longer. I checked the router and it shows is no longer there and I can't access it via the installer.

How you try to access the router configuration page? If the access point is connected to your d-link router, make sure that your router's default ip address and AP are in the same range. The IP default WAP54G is 192.168.1.245.

If the router's default IP address is different, so you will need the AP wired to your computer and assign a static ip address to your computer ie: 192.168.1.10 and then connect to the access point configuration page and settings wireless entry and change the default IP of AP, which is of the order of your d-link router.

  • Cannot access the WAP54g

Hey everyone, Im tired of trying to solve this problem! So I came here.

Im trying to change a WAP54G v3 point access name and password, but I can't seem to access it. When I go to 192.168.1.254 this error appears:

    "error 8002801 c"

Error al tener acceso al Registro OLE.

    iisHelp/common/500-100.asp, line 33

I don't know what that means, but I've already tried a few tihngs and nothing seems to fix it.

What can I do? In addition, there is a link to download the Setup Wizard CD? do not see it on the site of linksys.

    Thanks in advance

  • Cannot access the WAP54G! But its not working?

Thank you Fred, took a little work but got everything set up... my biggest problem was that I forgot to change the IP address of the network card that I used to connect the device directly... the other problem is that I followed the WAP with an in the same laptop wireless card and somehow to reset WAP rode with a generic "microsoft" static IP addresses starting with 169.254. not really sure how it came with it but duisabled card wireless NETWORK and use your suggestion in this bulletin and was etc. Although I had to use 192.168.1.254 at the beginning. With respect to the update of the firmware, I could not find a 2.07 and ends with 3.04 Oct arrested March 31, 2005 and my taken WAP is set up and works great. Hasn't crashed yet, but after reading your post now Im kinda sitting here with my fingers crossed.
