SSD keeps using all available space

My new SSD boot drive is 240 GB and only was Win7 and Adobe Master Collection, about 90GB but keeps the rest of the 240 GB SSD from filling.  Is this a problem with Win7, Adobe SSD?  I use two 3 TB HDD to capture and export, storage, etc.  I keep only the operating system, Adobe and Nero programs as well as the follow-up of the motherboard etc. SW on the SSD drive C.  Its a Corsair GTX 240 GB.  All brand new this year.  The system is PC.  Card mother Asus Sabertooth X 79 with i7 CPU 3.4.  64 GB OF RAM.

If you use 90 GB of your SSD for the OS & programs (which is huge), I can assume only you did not disable hibernation and did not withdraw hyberfil.sys. With so few programs, it takes not more than about 35-45 GB.

For the rest, it stores the file where you told them to be stored. If for example your media cache is ordered to this SSD, it is logically. Change this in the preferences.

  • Thin provisioned VMDK consume all available space

    Hello

    • Server: Win 2008 R2 with SP1 (file server)
    • Storage: VMDK on VMFS5 datastore (thin provisioned), which underlies the SAN fiber storage
    • vSphere: vCenter Server Standard 5, ESXi 5.0 Patch 2 (build 515841)

... So, I have a VM file server running Windows 2008 R2 with SP1.  The system (c) partition has been successfully thin (VMDK using 13 GB to 40 GB).

However, for all subsequent hard disks virtual created on the server, the NTFS partition is very slow to get into shape - and the actual size of the VMDK creeps slowly up to the size of the VHD (you can see the gradual rise of the VMDK size in the browser to store data during the formatting process).

The VMFS data store that we create new virtual hard disks is version 5.  All virtual machines with virtual hard disks on VMFS version 3 seem to be supplied thin OK.

Nobody knows what could happen here?

    Hello

    Do you use quick format?

Otherwise, your score will take up any space. Check here:VMware KB: using thin provisioned disks with virtual machines

"If a guest operating system needs to use a virtual disk, the must invited first operating system partition and format the drive in a file system it can recognize." Depending on the format selected in the guest operating system, the format can cause the disc thin provisioned in full size.

For example, if you have a drive end with a Microsoft Windows operating system implemented and format the drive, unless you explicitly choose to fast formatting, Microsoft Windows format tool written information to all sectors on the disk, which in turn inflates the disc thin provisioned in full size. I have a ReadNas 102 and lately I have these error messages using the root of the system volume is 95%. After checking the files/var, I noticed that desired used all available space. I had FTP enabled for some files and it seems that the content of these files is copied to the folder var/ftp.

    Hello.
The ibdata1 still growing is not a ReadyNAS problem, but a problem of MySQL, may be triggered or worsened by track LogAnalyzer to commit requests.
There is a lot of discussion online about this. But it seems that there is no easy solution to reduce its size.

You are using Windows 7 32 bit?

All versions of Windows 32-bit client (not just Vista/XP/7) have a 4GB
address space (64-bit versions can use much more). It's the
theoretical upper limit beyond which you cannot go.

But you can not use all of the 4 GB of address space. Even if you
have a 4 GB address space, you can use * autour * 3. 1 GB of RAM.
This is because some of the space is used by the hardware and is not
available for the operating system and applications. The amount you can
use varies, depending on what hardware you have installed, but can
range from as little as 2 GB to 3.5 GB. It's usually around
    3. 1 GB.

Note that the hardware is using the address * space *, not the real
The RAM itself. If you have a larger amount of RAM, the rest of the RAM
goes unused because there is no address to map space to.

  • Why my PC cannot use all of the available memory?

    Hello

I have windows ultimate 64 bit and the 6 GB of ram (laptop)

    http://img03.arabsh.com/uploads/image/2012/09/19/0d36454a60fa0d.PNG

As shown in the photo, there is a free memory and available memory

    Total: 6058
    caching: 2713
    available: 2552
    free: 1

Why windows cannot use the available memory, although there is no such thing as free storage space!

    What you see is normal.

Windows 7 do not free memory. He's trying to preload it with applications that she believes, based on experience, that you may need.

If you have plenty of RAM, you can see more free memory if Windows doesn't find anything to him with preload.

Available memory is not actively used by all processes memory but it is preloaded with applications, is of the opinion, based on experience, that you might need as I said above. If it is required by another process, it is available to be used and the preloaded data are deleted.

    I hope this helps you.

  • How to make a panelTabbed to occupy all the available space?

    Hello

I have this simple structure in my page, but I can't do the panelTabbed occupy all the available space in the page:

    Page:
    panelStretchLayout
       Facet Center:
         PanelGroupLayout - Scroll
            PanelBox
            PanelTabbed
                ShowDetail1 (anything inside, tables, etc..)
Now, the panelBox and and panelTabbed are at the same level. But I can't get the tabs expanded according to the space available under the panelBox max.
You have an idea, the special properties to set are there?

If you want the component panelTabbed to stretch all the senses, you must use a different panelStretchLayout like this:

Edit: no need "AFStretchWidth" style for panelTabbed component, in that provision.

  • The use of RASENTRY for checkmark all available devices

    Hello

I am trying to install a new entry of Ras via RasSetEntryProperties, which works fine, but I can't find a way to ensure that all available modems are disabled in the DUN Properties dialog box.

The RASENTRY struct has a member named szDeviceName and this will check the modem, whose name has been provided, but I do not know how to approach more than one modem with this.

I tested check all other modems in the dialog connection properties and then ran RasGetEntryProperties to see if something has changed in the RASENTRY struct but there is no difference.

I looked also RASDIALPARAMS and RASSUBENTRY, but I don't think they apply in this case.

Any suggestions on how to achieve this are appreciated.

  • My hard drive is filling up all the available space on my hard drive

Original title: my drive is 'eat' himself!

Something happens in my system which occupies all the available space on my hard drive.

I deleted everything that I possible can, but as soon as I create a space that it disappears.

There is apparently a function involving my e-mail archives or my installation "restore."

Recreate the data but do not delete the file/data who is who replaces it.  What has

happened in the past, but at that time, it was the result of my control one inadvertently

email replication function... this time I got nothing done to cause this duplication of work.

When it started to affect my system this time I looked for things to remove and found

many of my emails in the "sent" folder had been duplicated.  I immediately removed all

These duplicates and has acquired an important place but in a short period of time the

    disc had been filled again.

I ran anti-virus (McAfee) and combating malicious programs (Malwarebytes) without finding

anything that can be causing my problem.

  • Vista Business 64-Bit with AutoCAD 2009 does not seem to use all 8 GB of RAM available.

A workstation newly built (S5000XVN Intel / Xeon / 8 GB RAM / 2 GB RAM video) with Windows Vista Business 64-bit is used with AutoCAD 2009 (64-bit).  The workstation hangs under stress, apparently because not enough RAM is available.  ("Stress" is "Turning entirely made of a certain complexity 3D drawings")

The Task Manager / Performance tab indicates never to use RAM above about 3.25 GB, even if ten or more concurrent applications are loaded, including IE 8 (6 graphically heavy windows) and AutoCAD with 6 or more complex drawings open at the same time.

There are two issues, I think:
    1. in the event that a busy workstation indicate use RAM above the 32-old bit of 3.2 GB limit?
2 are there MS Windows Vista settings that are necessary to ensure the use of RAM available?

    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for the reply.

I studied the installation of AutoCAD 2009.  It's actually the 64-bit version that is installed, and the Task Manager reports it as a 64-bit application when it runs.  (In other words, it is not marked as a 32 bit application.)

I must admit that I no longer believe that the machine is running out of resources or do not use all the resources available to it.  We tested the machine by throwing 18 complex, fully rendering the 3D drawings within the Academy, in addition to two cases of IE 8, three instances of Explorer Windows and MS Windows Mail.  Use of the RAM did climb, reaching finally the 4.06 GB, clearly indicating that the 32-bit 3.2 GB limit has been exceeded.  It seems that just drawings don't take up that much RAM.  BTW, there was no increase in the paging activity that I could see.

However, the application does not seem to be frozen or looping when the client attempted to turn one of the drawings.  The CPU on the two wires (Xeon processor) usage increased to 55% and remained there. the State of the process, as reported by the task manager went to "Not responding" and stayed there; and the display of the image froze on an empty workspace, with a three seconds flash drawing on every 20 seconds.

So: It now seems that there is a problem with AutoCAD, not a Vista problem.  I would appreciate comments, however, if you think that this analysis is wrong, incomplete or based on wrong assumptions.

    Thanks for your help.
