SSE2

Dear members of the Forum,

I would like to know how to check the SSE2 is installed on my computer:

HP Pavilion dv7 - 4080 American Intel core i7 processor Windows 7

in support of the last updated version of SKYpe.

After recently updated to the latest version of Skype to blur and uncertain voices

Skype said "If your computer is not supported SSE2, you will not be able to use screen sharing and video calls."

"The latest version of Skype for Windows desktop includes some changes that improved video calls, group video calls and screen sharing. Unfortunately, these changes mean that screen sharing and video calls do not work on some older PCs. »

Best regards

According to the specifications, the listed CPU is an Intel Core i7 720QM / 1.6 GHz.  Instructions for the processor sets are listed on THIS PAGE.  Among them is the SSE2.  When you posted it has an Intel i7 processor, I automatically assumed he had the SSE2 but confirmed.

  • Will be Firefox, apparently like the Chrome, being constantly updated on the unsupported SSE2 computers?

    Firefox is my browser of choice, but for purposes of design web, I also Google Chrome. I have however, like others, began to receive a message from Chrome claiming that soon my computer will no longer receive updated because its material is no longer supported. Like chrome, Firefox 28.0 - I - says a minimum CPU Pentium 4 or better requirement: Firefox has specified this good since I remember from 2011, but my old laptop, which I use for almost all my computer activities, including web design, uses a Pentium III Mobile and works perfectly well the Firefox. The specific concern chrome, however, which is now I see specified for Firefox 28.0, is a processor that supports SSE2: processor my laptop supports only SES (and MMX), but as I say it works perfectly well with FF28.0. So will be FF to end support for the computers of my harware (SES rather than SSE2 or better) specification?

    I don't think that there is no difference in the feature set; It's just that without SSE2 performance suffers.

    Others who are coming across this thread would know that SSE2 was introduced by Intel with the Pentium 4 in 2001. AMD said first it in 2003. The latest version of Windows does not work even without him.

    In short, if you bought a computer in the last decade, its CPU supports probably SSE2. You can check by using the CPU - Z utility.

  • Have I not SSE2 technology?

    It is a model 610-1030f dated 2009 running Windows Home Premium. Windows sfwe test Office 2010 included.

    a processor i3 to 3.2 Ghz, 4 GB ram

    System has touch screen technology

    You will need to confirm that this unit contains SSE2 to run sfwe CAD.

    Is there a diagnosis that could answer the question - "do I SSE2 on board?

    Hello:

    I quote this from the link below...

    http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/SSE2

    All known x 86-64 processors also implement SSE2.

    So, the answer to your question is Yes, your processor has the technology SSE2.

  • A requirement for Firefox 5.0 is supported for SSE2. The processor in my laptop only supports SSE. I'd better not download Firefox 5.0?

    Dear Sir:

    I am currently running Firefox 4.0.1 on my laptop.
    This browser works very well.

    By the SSE2/SSE question mentioned above, I would like to determine whether I should download Firefox 5.0.

    Please let me know if there is information that you need beyond what is included to the right.

    Thank you
    Steven Katz

    If 4.0.1 works satisfactorily while Firefox 5 should not be a problem, so give it a try.

  • SSE2 instruction set

    Sr1300nx Compaq Presario with AMD Sempron 3000 + he defined sse2 instructions?  If not, is it possible to add this feature?

    My research indicates that sse2 was introduced in AMD processors in 2003.  I bought my computer in 2005 but not sure, that he understands the sse2 instruction set.  Is there a way to tell if this instruction set is based on my computer?

    I opened up my case, but the AMD CPU seems to be fixed under a cooling fan.  How to remove a who fan to be able to read what is written on the AMD Chip?

    The reason for this question is that I have upgraded to Windows 7 and I wanted to put the new version of Word 2013 on the computer.  My research indicates that Word 2013 requires the x 86 processor with SSE2 instruction set.

    Thanks for the quick and accurate response.

  • Error SSE2 optimization in the deployment of Web Services

    I'm migrating from 2010 to 2011 SP1 web service [because web services 2010 SP1 were buggy]. At first, I could build and deploy the code very well. Now, I get the following deployment error:

    LabVIEW error: (Hex 0xFFFEFA45) LabVIEW Web Services: call to create a VI reference failed. The target does not support SSE2 optimization. Disable SSE2 optimization in the Advanced dialog box of the Web Service Properties page before continuing.

    Based on the online documentation, my hardware can support SSE2 - but no matter, I disabled it anyway. The error message persists. This message means anything this SSE2 optimization is enabled and is not supported? Based on the text of the error, it seems that turning off optimization should probably fix the problem...

  • How will I know if my laptop supports PAE and NX SSE2?

    Windows 8 upgrate utility said that it is necessary for the XP uprade.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/what-is-PAE-NX-SSE2

    Assistant upgrade will provide you with an error message if your processor supports PAE and SSE2 support. You will also see a notice if the processor could not compatible NX or NX has been disabled in the BIOS of the PC. The installer of Windows 8 will attempt to turn on NX during installation and, if it is not able, will return your PC to the current operating system.

    Did you get these error messages?

    Hello

    Thank you for visiting the Microsoft answers Forum.

    The question you posted would be better suited in the MSDN Forums. I would recommend posting your query in the MSDN Forums:

  • upgrade processor to support PAX, NX, SSE2

    trying to upgrade windows 8 for windows 8.1. need to upgrade the processor to PAX, NX, SSE2 support

    Your HP Media Center m7160n desktop supports the following processors;

    Socket: 775
    Pentium D (Smithfield) up to 3.2 GHz
    Pentium 4 (Prescott) up to 580 and 670

    It does not appear that any of these processors supports SSE2 PAX, NX. There is no processor to replace it with. You will need to buy a new processor, memory, new motherboard, etc. It may be easier and better just buying a new computer.

  • It will work with an amd processor dual-core E1-2500 (1.4 GHz)

    Will Firefox run on dual-core AMD E1-2500 (1.4 GHz) CPU

    I do not know. According to a page that I saw, it supports SSE2, which is listed in the minimum requirements: https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/40.0/system-requirements/

    Are you interested in giving it a try to see if it works?

  • Web sites tell me that I can't use websockets

    Hey,.
    mutiple sites tell me that the browser does not support websockets.
    First of all, I saw this in the add-on pushbullet. Here, I thought it was a problem specific to the site.
    But now I tried IPython notebook and the error came back.
    I tried http://www.websocket.org/echo.html and the same once again.
    But http://caniuse.com/websockets told me that it should be supported.
    Checked in normal and safe mode, so it's not a problem to Add on.

    Ok. Another profile solved this problem.
    It was a simple setting that has been set to false.
    I think it was a fragment of firefox 4/5 (yes my real config have its root in the firefox 3 xx times), there was simply the key network.websocket.enabled the value false, and I never used it until now.
    So I'm able to keep my good old config and just change it in all: config.

    So, if anyone has the same problem:
    Before resetting the configuration, or worse still the whole profile:
    -Open the link "subject: config ' in the browser
    -Locate the key: network.websocket.enabled
    -Check if it is set to true (the default)

  • I did according to the instructions RE: cut and paste, still does not work.

    This is what is shown as my profile directory
    /Home/davidlisle/.Mozilla/firefoxsa4u14wa.default-1390261301661

    It's the user.js, I created in accordance with the online instructions page:

    // This file can be used to configure global preferences for Firefox
    // Example: Homepage
    pref("browser.startup.homepage", "http://www.linkedin.com/");
    user_pref("capability.policy.policynames", "allowclipboard");
    user_pref("capability.policy.allowclipboard.Clipboard.cutcopy", "allAccess");
    user_pref("capability.policy.allowclipboard.Clipboard.paste", "allAccess");

    However, the data but followed instructions do not produce the expected results.
    Right now I see myself forced to use another browser as I work a lot on the line and I 'should' be able to copy / paste. If you can respond in a timely and a solution, I'll continue with firefox, I like. Otherwise, my frustration level has peaked and interest in firefox is rapidly declining.

    I should be able to accomplish this task with simple steps, not an eternity of troubleshooting your installation bad 'protection '. I am equally sure that many others have no problem, I do however.

    I have provided some basic information about this machine, if you need something specific, I'm sure I'll be happy to hand it to you.

  • Can I use the latest version of Firefox. I have Win XP Pro PIII 600 Mhz. 3.6.25 excellent works, but I still get the message to be updated?

    I am so happy with Firefox 3.6.25 (thank you), but I'm worried update the program because the requirements of system does not respond to my PC or does it? I have Win XP Pro SP2, PIII 600 MHz I still get messages on your part on updating the program but do not know if it is possible.

    Stick with the version you have now. The versions of Firefox 4 + need a processor with SSE2 instruction set, as in the Intel P4 processors.

    http://www.Mozilla.org/en-us/Firefox/9.0/system-requirements/

    Recommended hardware

       * Pentium 4 or newer processor that supports SSE2
       * 512MB of RAM
       * 200MB of hard drive space
