SSH command failure

I jumped my way through all of the process of building a workflow (not particularly easy when you don't speak JavaScript ) and I'm on the one-yard line.  Last step in my workflow... before the 'End' of course... is to run a SSH command.  That's the problem: when I run the command as a stand-alone WF in the VRO client it works fine, no problem (success is indicated).  However, when I run the same command in the final stage of the workflow it throws a failure... Although the log output shows clearly succeeding.  Can anyone suggest why this is the case and what to do to correct it?

EDIT

In case it helps jog someone's memory, the grip seems to be the point 5.  As I said, the output everything seems OK, the error message is "SSH run command failed." "Reason: (workflow: run SSH command / assign (item5) #6)" this error message does not appear if/when I run the exact same canned WF by itself (However the TIME even trying to run against when I get the error).

OK... so this is * very * weird, but I think that I thought about it.  When I was trying to get my workflow custom squared further than I was running the debugging, when I was testing the command SSH 'keeps' WF I was actually running it normally.  For some reason, that seems to be where is the problem.  As I wrote earlier, even in the course of debugging my SSH command worked OK, he just kept pitching on a mistake at the end (the newspaper showed the exit quite right, it's just that at the end... After you run the commands successfully and get an exit code 0... She kept any mistake).  The second, I ran my workflow custom normally rather than in debugging the error stopped.

Anyone know why this might be?  Is there something specific to the SSH module which he does not play well with debug?

  • SSH command orchestrator using SSH plugin

I generated the pair of keys and also saved the public key on the host by using workflows in the SSH plugin. Now when I try to run a ssh command in the workflow, I see the following error:

"Cannot run the command InternalError: SSH_MSG_DISCONNECT: 2 too many failures for root authentication (order workflow: run SSH / Execute SSH Command (item6) #16) (Workflow: run SSH command / Execute SSH Command (item6) #33).

In addition, the session is created and I am able to see the session ID.

Please help me solve this problem.

    Resolved-

After a lot of trial and error, I found the solution.

Generated SSH keys should be 1024 key size and the user name with which the keys are saved on the host can be used only to run commands as well.

  • Insert variable/attribute in the SSH command?

Does anyone know how to insert a variable/attribute in a SSH command for execution on a remote machine?

Not directly with the workflow stock 'run SSH command '. If you look at the script of this workflow code, you will see that the string entered by the user entry control is passed directly to the run command.

What you can try is to duplicate this workflow and add code to "twist" the input command string before passing it for execution. For example, you can consider a nice syntax placeholder for names of attribute such as % attr, you can replace it with the actual attribute name and then move the chain gave rise to eval().

Therefore, if the user enters the following command string:

    some sample % attr1% command

You need to convert to something like expression concatenating string to the following address (note the single quotes)

    "some examples" attr1 + "order."

When you pass this expression to eval(), evaluate the real value of the string attribute attr1 and you'll get his command of actual string to run as SSH command.

  • Script to start service followed other ssh commands

    Hi all

I tried to merge the esxi SSH service started then follows by another command in the same script, but unable to merge the same. Good at powercli someone help me in creating such script.

The following activities should be performed in the script.

-> Service to launch SSH to esxi host (specific Cluster in vCenter)

    Then

-> esxcli sched swap system set-l false

    then

-> esxcli corefump file system remove f

    Then stop the SSH service

the 4 steps above should be included in a script.

    Thanks in advance.

Using the cmdlet Get-EsxCli of PowerCLI, you do not have start and stop the SSH service. The following PowerCLI script is the equivalent of your code and runs on all of your guests. Specify it a specific cluster, you must replace the * with the name of the cluster:

    Get-Cluster-name * | Get-VMHost | {ForEach-Object

    $esxcli = get-EsxCli - VMHost $_

    $esxcli.sched.swap.system.set ($null, $null, $null, $null, $null, $false, $null)

    $esxcli.system.coredump.file.remove ($null, $true)

  • ESXi 6.0 - SSH Command to check the status of running tasks

    Hi all

What I'm trying to do is quite simple, but do not know whether it is complex or not.

I'm checking the State of a task via SSH. You know, like that of the lower part of the vSphere Client where it shows you the task and the status of it. I need to monitor the % of the deployment of the MV EGGS in various hosts via a script but can't find the command to do, but would be nice to be able to check any task and its status.

    What I found so far:

    http://KB.VMware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US & cmd = displayKC & externalId = 1013003

But that was not helpful at all. I tried but could not get information about the deployment.

Thank you all for any help or lead, you may have.

    Hello world

I found the answer myself, which was indeed in the URL I posted.

I just had a problem to see a small change in orders.

In step 7, it says task_info and I wrote get.tasklist with the task identifier.

Thank you guys and I hope at least that it might help someone trying to do what I'm doing and reading VERY well orders, haha

We try to automatically deploy our guests from ESXi5 and got to a point where ESXi5 update1 is installed on a host directly from a boot ISO and edited KS.cfg unique settings of the host file.

The problem is that the traffic management (by vmk0) needs to use vlan35. This can be set in the vSphere Client GUI by using properties of the switch. We must do this via a command line, then we can automate the process for all of our guests.

When I ssh into the management console and a command (for example: pool see the default selection), it returns a correct output - information on the default pool. However, when I send the same command as part of the ssh command (for example: ssh [email protected] "hen see the default selection"), - after a successful authentication -, I get the message ' unsupported command: pool see the default selection.

I use ssh it very long with all kinds of devices, and what's more, I have a vague memory that actually used to work even with this particular case. Someone has an idea of what could be a problem?

    Hello

When you connect as grpadmin, you are in a group CLI program.  This is not the same thing you are trying to execute commands via SSH.  Orders are not passed IN the CLI program.

If you want to run commands, download the Scripting Host tools since EQL support site.  You select the Firmware version that you are running.  You can use the current version of the same family.  That is, if you run 7.1.0 you can select Package 7.1.x version.  You can find a link for the Scripting Host for Linux and Windows tools.   These have all the files you need to use PERL or Python to script on the chart commands.  There are examples of included scripts.  I prefer PYTHON PERL for how its text handling and better support for SSH.  PERL seems to do better through TELNET which I do not use. Installation of PYTHON PARAMIKO makes it transparent.

If you install the HIT / ME software that includes also all the PowerShell cmdlets, you need.

  • remembering ssh passphrases

Before moving on to the Sierra, the first time I ran a ssh command every day, he would ask for my password and store the key, making it usable by any other ssh process, no matter where I am connected, thanks to the "forwarding agent. That's what I'm used to and is identical to the way things work on my other computer (which runs on Linux).

After upgrade to Sierra, passphrases my SSH keys are somehow being 'remembers', but no ssh-agent. I am able to ssh from my laptop directly in one of the servers that I managed, without being asked a password, but because the agent does contain all the keys (i.e. "ssh - add - l" returns "the agent has no identity."), I'm not able to ssh from this server to another server, which also makes the 'scp' and 'git' commands do not work until I go back to the laptop itself and run "ssh - add.

I tried to use "Keychain Access" to find and remove the element containing the password, but no items in any of my files of trousseau (connection, iCloud, System or root system) contain 'ssh' anywhere in their title. I also tried 'ssh - add - d K' and 'ssh - add - d /Users/xxx/.ssh/id_rsa K. Neither the command seems to have no effect, they are not compensation everywhere where passwords are stored.

The output of "ssh - vvv" Server1 contains the following items:

How can I make ssh NOT remember passwords for my keys?

Thanks to http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/253779/macos-10-12-sierra-will-not-forg and my-ssh-keyfile-password , I found that the password is stored in ~/Library/Keychains/{UUID}/keychain-2.db, rather than in the keychain. It is a sqlite3 file and the element containing the sentence can be removed with the following query:

    ~/Library/keychains/*/Keychain-2.DB $ sqlite3

    SQLite > delete from the genp where agrp = 'com.apple.ssh.passphrases';

    SQLite > .q

    $

The problem is, the next ssh command I type asks for the password and stores it in the same file again.

How do you prevent ssh from store my passwords at all?

Can't say I've seen this before, but SSH is easy to do on the SAA.

I recommend you to take out the first interface access list to see if that would be it.

You have published only a partial section of the config, but make sure you have the SSH command with the address of the subnet that you connect from. Your config is no longer visible as I type this but try "SSH 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 outdoors. This allows all subnets access to the external interface. This command works as an access list to restrict connectivity to approved subnets. i.e. ' SSH 10.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 out "only allow hosts on the 10.x.x.x network to connect via SSH.

Turn 'debug ssh' to see what errors are too.

And, you can always remove your keys (related encryption rsa key) and rebuild their return (encryption key generate rsa 1024 mod gen). This will make your ssh client, I use PuTTY, think that this is a new feature and invites the OK to connect.

    Good luck.

    Kevin
