SSO ADF and Oracle Forms?

Hello

Is there a recommended way to share authentication between ADF and Oracle forms?

We currently use Oracle 11 g 2 forms and we have our forms developed in-house running on this.  I would like to start working on some applications of the ADF, but I do not know how to ensure that the username and passwords are the same for our existing forms applications and any new request to ADF we add.

I would use JDeveloper 12 c.

We have < 100 users, so this isn't a large installation, and most users are (same office).

Thanks for ideas or advice.

Check out this blog https://blogs.oracle.com/olaf/entry/ofm_11g_oam_sso_for_forms_and because it describes how using OAM.

  • JavaBeans and oracle form builder

    Hello world
    I want to learn more about the oracle java library especially frmall.jar, I want to learn more about interactivity with the form builder and java, I searched on the internet and saw some very simple examples.
    any body know where I can download a reference on oracle form builder and java book?
    Thank you

    It is not a huge amount of documentation on that, but there are some.

  • Oracle ADF and Oracle Applications

    Hi all

    Can we use Oracle ADF with the latest version of Oracle E-business suite (R11i 2 in my case)? Or we need to use only the OFA and ADF can only be used for the future release of Oracle ERP?

    It will be great if anyone can list the advantages of the OFA on ADF for Oracle EBS 11i 2. I want to convince the customer that the ADF is not safe or not a good platform for customizations in the current version (2 R11i) and even for the next immediate release (R12).

    Thanks in advance,

    CAH

    Hello

    I don't think that ADF can be used with 11i applications, it may be user in R12 (it is my understanding), if you want to run in pages ADF of Apps then these pages should be located on the external server and you can access it as an external Application.

    Customization is concrened, it cannot be done using only new Applications developed in ADF ADF and if you plan to develop an application, custom Apps then ADf will be a good choice as to 11g migration will be easier (but it will not support the features Apps like KFF, FDF, accessories etc.).

    Please check Metalink Note 563047.1 on metalink for that and you can see a few articles on this www.apps2fusion.com and the Blog of Mukul.

    I hope that you will get a clear picture on it.

  • Perform a remote debugging and Oracle Forms (6i)

    Hello
    We do not have E-Business Suite 11.5.10 and I was wandering if it is possible to use SQL Developer to debug remotely the PL/SQL which called Forms.

    We have been able to call the dbms_debug_jdwp of one of the packages and it did bring back us to the SQL Developer and has stopped at the breakpoint, but then after more walk and run PL/SQL to the end the session of forms is crushed and we were not able to return to the form with the results and continue.
    Everyone went through a similar exercise with success?

    See you soon
    Arek

    He expected no importance, but unfair life sometimes more with existing systems. :(
    I wanted to recommend to your code (in this case, your remote procedure call), not not the connection, a TIME NEW FORM instance.
    How do you say 'they appear at the end not initially"?
    Always log into the remote procedure?

  • Oracle Forms with Tamil fonts

    Hi all

    I use Oracle Database 12 c and Oracle Forms and reports 11g r2

    I installed the database to Unicode

    NLS_LANG = AMERICAN_AMERICA. UTF8

    and I changed in the register of forms in the same window and I also configured in default.env too.

    I used 3 languages in my database, English, Arabic and Tamil.

    English and Arabic does not work well. His works to the label forms as well as stored in the database.

    Now, I have problem in Tamil fonts in Junk or?

    How to solve this problem?

    Can I missed any configuration?

    Thanks for all your answers,

    I found the solution. There is a fallback in Java for the fonts option.

    I just spent my fonts in java backup file.

    Now Oracle Forms can support Indian languages especially in Tamil, Malayalam, etc...

  • The application Mobile of the ADF and DMS synchronization

    Hi all

    I'm working on a demo an app-based mobile cross-platform, working mostly offline (using a local database that must be synchronized manually when the unit is online).

    I started to look at Mobile ADF and Oracle Database Server Mobile framework.

    Now, I'm a little confused about how these two elements interact each others.

    Looking at a video/documentation, I see that using the MF of the ADF, I can create a mobile app for iOS/Android write pure java code. Can I deploy the application by using a deployment profile to get my request, ready to be installed on my device.

    The question is, how can my mobile application be kept synchronized to a DMS MW running?

    I read the synchronization call in Applications with Mobile Sync API, using an Android Application on the Mobile Client of SQLite , ADFm integrate applications in Mobile database server

    but I don't how that is supposed to work.

    It seems that I have to add osync_me.jar library to my project, define the parameters of my file ose.ini (via SetParam.run) then create an OSESession and use the sync() method. This is supposed to get a change in delta DMS and put in it my changes executed locally.

    Isn't it? Do I need something more?

    Here How to integrate Oracle Adf Mobile App and DMS? there is a very similar question without public reaction, is there any documentation on this topic detailed?

    Thanks to you all

    There is a document located here: Oracle database Mobile Server Documentation

    Look for the doc on how to integrate the ADFm and DMS.

    This gives a step by step on what needs to be done.

  • Oracle forms of many developers development environment

    I installed oracle 11 g 2 forms and weblogic on linux. I am able to test and run a form on it successfully.

    Now we intend to use it for many developers. My idea is that we should use the existing server weblogic as deployment for all forms of all developers.

    However to provide the forms of development etc generator, complete installation of weblogic and oracle forms server should be installed on every developer but this facility will be in development mode. Secondly, each form must be copied into the path of forms and form file cannot be deployed on weblogic as ear file online.

    My questions are

    form 1 - can can be deployed on weblogic server as ear/war file online?

    2 is that each developer will need to install the server weblogic and oracle forms 11 g r2 in mode of development on his pc? or they can share a single server of remote forms generator.

    There are several ways to answer your questions.  It would be as part of what could be "technically" and the other would be in the context of the license product allows you to do.

    Let's start by answering your questions directly:

    form 1 - can can be deployed on weblogic server as ear/war file online?

    No.  Forms applications are not the java (J2EE) applications.  That said, for the necessary files (fmb, mmb, pll) to a remote machine and prepare to be executable should be easy enough for most organizations.  Just let it drop the files to the correct location, compile and run.  Files can be moved to the server using ftp, shared, etc. drive.  You can even write your own application (for example, servlet) to help make this easier.  You can also create a forms (active WebUtil) application to help move the files on the local computer to the server computer.

    2 is that each developer will need to install the server weblogic and oracle forms 11 g r2 in mode of development on his pc? or they can share a single server of remote forms generator.

    In order to be in a "supported" configuration, each user intend to use the forms/States builders (IDE) must have a local copy on their computer and use it on the local computer.  Running the builders from a location remote only is not supported.  Refer to the Note MOS 68047.1 for more details.  This does not mean that the remote access will not work.  This simply means that Oracle Support cannot help you if problems occur with such a use of the product.

    Regarding the WLS installation part, a remote server can technically be used, but you always need to install on the computer where the builders.

    So, this brings me to the authorization of the present part.

    The license Developer Suite, which is required to use the manufacturers, is scheduled for local installation and local use of the product.  It is not intended to be used by remote users.  This would apply to both the tools and the runtime environment (server).  If you have one license deployment (e.g. Services forms/States, iAS-EE or WLS Suite) then you can develop your application (assuming that you also have an ID license) with your local builders, then back to application modules resulting remote installation of WLS (forms/reports and Services) in order to run/test the application.

    From a technical point of view, to use the 'Run the form' button in the report designer to access a remote deployment environment, simply change the value "Application Server URL" in the Runtime tab in the preferences.  As mentioned, it will be up to you to determine how you want to move the modules (fmb, mmb, pll) on the target computer and compile them.  Now when you press the button run the form, the form will run on the remote server.

  • Oracle forms version control system

    Hello

    Which tool is best Version and difference, audit reports and Oracle Forms.

    My environment is

    OS = Redhat 5.9

    Database = 10.2.0.1

    Developer = 6i patch 17

    Thanks in advance

    I'm used to subversion, but this does not mean that it is the right tool for you. GIT is a distributed version control system that provides the ability to create local chapters that sometimes miss me in subversion, for example when I do a greater research who needs significant changes to code.

    At the end of the day, you read about the characteristics of some version control systems, to play and see if it fits your needs. At least that's what I did 7 years ago when we checked the subversion.

    For example, take a look here:

    http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_revision_control_software

    Don't be overwhelmed by the amount of VCS out there. That's just my opinion, but the free Source Open (like subversion or GIT) VCS are at least as powerful as their commercial counterparts (of not more powerful), so I will abstain to scrutinize sales.

    What is diff/merge is in a team of 4 developers I guess having to resolve conflicts is rather rare?

    There are a few possibilities but to compare changes:

    -convert your forms to XML format and compare with a plain vanilla diff viewer: conversion of an Oracle Forms Application

    -convert the pll files in text format gross LDP with rwconverter and compare with a spectator ordinary vanilla diff

    -use a commercial tool like FormsTool - ORCL Toolbox

    I don't know, maybe there are other tools of differentiation/fusion available as well, but that's what we use (Forms tool in collaboration with rwconverter to merge pll files, as this does not well in the forms tool but not the fault of the tool itself, but on the API, it based on...)

  • Webutil on Oracle Form Builder

    Hi all,

    I installed on my computer the Devsuite Oracle 10 g and Oracle Forms and reports Service 10 g.

    Now, Webutil installed in Oracle Forms & reports Service ORACLE_HOME and all work fine.

    If I try to edit a form using a JavaBean such oracle.forms.webutil.ole.OleFunctions, the FRM-13008 error is returned.

    Please how can put Oracle Form Builder in order to sove the problem?

    Thank you and best regards
    Gaetano

    If you want to update the registry (Windows), you'll need locate the key specific to your installation.

    For version 10, the key should appear something like this:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Oracle\KEY_

    In this node, you should be able to find the FORMS_BUILDER_CLASSPATH key. Change the value of this key by adding the webutil jar file. Use a semicolon to add entries. For example:

    C:\oracle\FRHOME\forms\java\frmbld.jar;C:\oracle\FRHOME\jlib\importer.jar;C:\oracle\FRHOME\jlib\debugger.jar;C:\oracle\FRHOME\jlib\utj.jar;C:\oracle\FRHOME\jlib\dfc.jar;C:\oracle\FRHOME\jlib\help4.jar;C:\oracle\FRHOME\jlib\oracle_ice.jar;C:\oracle\FRHOME\jlib\jewt4.jar;C:\oracle\FRHOME\jlib\ewt3.jar;C:\oracle\FRHOME\jlib\share.jar;D:\oracle10g\iDS1012\forms\java\frmall.jar;C:\oracle\FRHOME\forms\java\frmwebutil.jar

    Notice that frmwebutil.jar is added to the end.

  • Oracle Forms and SSO

    Hi all

    I am troubleshooting a client in so he could integrate its Oracle Forms Applications withActive existing directory for authentication purposes.

    There are a lot of possibilities to achieve this, but the theory and practice are two different things.

    So I'd appreciate your comments on the following options, and perhaps some new ones I did not:
    -using the OSSO: that obviously easier. OSSO may nativey serve by Oracle Forms, which in turn uses OID, which in turn in sync with AD with the help of DIP. Quite a big configuration...
    -using the OAM: OAM integrates with OSSO, who can be used natively by Oracle Forms, which in turn... same story as above, only that OAM allows you to control access to all Web applications in my client's infrastructure.
    -from the Ondaaah: I think that Ondaaah is based on OSSO. If this is the case, should I still all resynchronize with AD and OID? Someone played with it already?

    If someone did an other thin and easy manner, I would be acknowledging its contribution too.

    Thank you!
    s

    seems more complicated than it really is. You can generate the script users OID & RADs if you are familiar with ldap & Setup for the DIP uses an Oracle script. Yes, used - this successfully several times.

    However, if you can avoid the forms, you need not to go this route. If these are new applications, you can use ApEx. If there are forms & are simple relatilvly, you can use the ApEx 3.2 conversion tool forms & a bit of work to migrate.

    Metalink notes
    267153.1: how to set up the Sync OID with AD
    277382.1: how to configure the OID of external authentication plugin for authentication via AD

    A few tips
    AD & OID have some duplicate, accounts to avoid problems:
    In ad: put all users to remove in an OU 'Parent '.
    OR = MyOUName, DC = mydomain.com
    Target this ORGANIZATIONAL unit when you go through the configuration of the synchronization of OID. Do not put AD users in this unit of ORGANIZATION (or child OU) If you want them to Sync in OID. Administrative users AD should not be synchronized in OID.
    Patch your OID to 10 gr 2 game patches 2 or 3 before setting up the synchronization. The standard installation of 10.1.2.0.2's had problems syncing DIP.

  • When possible in Oracle Forms to insert a second line based on 1st row, so why not in the ADF?

    Mr President

    When possible in Oracle Forms to insert a second line based on 1st row, so why not in the ADF?

    The user just enter data in the Module of sales in one line of a Bill as below

    and it is displayed in two rows in financial Module.like below how to proceed in the ADF.

    You can see that invoice line contains the sales tax and the gross sales amounts, then it is posted to the financial Module above two lines.

    How to make ADF

    Respect of

    What I realized, this is:

    -You have a table in you screen.

    -You call CreateInsert 2 times to create 2 rows at the same time.

    -You will enter value in a specific column (c1) line1

    Looking for the value that you entered in row1 can be completely copied in the same column (c1), but in line2. is this correct?

    If so try to do the following:

    1. in the table inputText (c1) column set autoSubmit = true and setValueChangeListener to a method in backbean

    2. in the inputTextValueChangeListener method to write this code

      public void inputTextValueChangeListener(ValueChangeEvent valueChangeEvent)
      {
        DCIteratorBinding tableIter = (DCIteratorBinding) BindingContext.getCurrent().getCurrentBindingsEntry().get("tableIteratorName");// write table iterator name from pageDef.
        for (int i = 0; i < tableIter.getViewObject().getEstimatedRowCount(); i++)
        {
          ViewRowImpl myRow = (ViewRowImpl) tableIter.getRowAtRangeIndex(i);
          EntityImpl entityImpl = myRow.getEntity(0);
          if (EntityImpl.STATUS_NEW == entityImpl.getEntityState())
          {
            System.out.println("New row found");
            myRow.setAttribute("AttributeName", valueChangeEvent.getNewValue());// write attribute name
          }
        }
      }

    3 - Add inputText id in the partialTrigger table

    4 - pageDef. Set of table iterator rangeSize = "-1".

  • Oracle Forms 11g - OFA - ADF Developer?

    Hello

    I am a newbie in these conditions and therefore don't know much about the difference...
    I finished the developer of the OCA and now I don't know what to choose then?

    what I've seen online on the next certification path is
    http://education.Oracle.com/pls/web_prod-plq-dad/db_pages.getPage?page_id=5001 & get_params = p_exam_id:1Z0 - 151 & p_org_id = & lang =

    It's Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g: create Applications with Oracle Forms

    also, I've seen some good hype about FAD and OPS being newbie I don't know what is the difference or either I can't find all of them in the lists of Certification.
    which I suppose is OAF is the same as Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g: create Applications with Oracle Forms

    but where is the certification of the ADF? any link

    also what to choose regardless of what I have in mind.

    Thank you

    Concerning
    Hassan Siddique

    (1) I guess there not available for OFA certification. However there is available land (Oracle University)

    (2) well, for that you need first to decide. you want to stay with forms and develop in sql, PL/SQL (learn more about the DB), then forms is the way to go. If you enjoy working with java and develop J2EE applications, you should work with ADF. OAF I don't know much about it other that it's built on an older version of the ADF, but is more suitable for E Business Suite (it has not used both in the open community).

  • Switch from Oracle Forms to ADF - bandwidth

    Hello, to a project that I am, we are to modernize Oracle Forms (11g on the web) to ADF Jdeveloper 11. XXX - we are looking at keeping the same server or to go to a new server with more basic, but which would increase our license costs.

    The question I would like to know is if ADF requires a faster server get the same service. I ask this question because I noticed that it takes longer to open ADF created forms etc. with Oracle Forms.

    Any suggestions? Stories of misfortune?

    Thank you
    Stuart

    Hello

    I migrate an application Forms FAD, and a conclusion: we need more memory on your servers. Just a little, but you know Oracle ADF consume more memory than FORMS, because it is full JAVA.
    You can contact Oracle support for more information.
