  I am an administrator of a small business network and we are currently planning to virtualize our four servers on two ML350 servers. We have three licenses of 2012r2 (think that's standard lisences). Before we decide to do what I have to know how much it will cost. However I have some problems to understand the total cost of having two physical servers running Hyper-V where one of them will be the main host that performs all four virtual servers and the other for failover.

  That's how I think it works:

  I need to have four standard lisences 2012r2 in order to run all four virtual servers on both physical Hyper-V hosts, then I will also need four licenses of server for four virtual servers running. So a total of 8 Server licenses. Is this correct? If not, what do I need?

• I installed the free trial of windows server 2012 and will not start

  I could download it without errors, burn the ISO image to a CD. The installation process was not interrupted and without errors looks like.  I was able to create the admin password and sign in.   I have several questions zu obigem Sachverhalt und hope, dass mir von Euch helped werden kann.

  Wir haben einen host ESX (VMware ESX 4.0.0) den wir via vSphere von einem Windows Server aus, verwalten. Auf dem ESX host wollen wir nun start, die first VM (ins Leben zu find) zu installieren. ES sollen OS installed werden (. ser on W2K3 / W2K8 STD (R2), company / business,...).

  Wir haben also license so: 'Windows Datacenter 2008 R2 64 bit 4 CPU. After we die erste VM installed haben, wanted sharp wir mit dem Lizenzkey der Datacenter license aktivieren. Unfortunately works weder der 'Product Key', noch der 'Virtual Key'.

  WO ist mein Denkfehler? Wie die of ich lizenzsiere auf einem host ESX VM procedures meiner Datacenter license Windows-VM?

  My windows platform is Windows Server R2 2012.

  My problem is that I can't ping the server during execution of the server BFE.

  I had already opened the ICMPv4 and v6 in the inbound rules. I also had to open inbound TCP 3389 port.

  I have once again allow all traffic entering the firewall rules.

  I tried to ping; error - request time-out

  I tried Telnet; No output.

  Can I know how to activate the ping while the BFE is running?

  When I tried to install oracle client (Oracle 11 g (11.2.0.1.0)) client installed on Windows server 2012 standard edition got following error.

  "ins-13001 environment does not meet the minimum requirements. 64 bit Windows 2012"

  So, I have two concerns.

  1. any solution to solve this problem?

  2. If I install 12 c Client, will I connect Oracle database 11 g (11.2.0.4.0) using 12 c customer?

  Certainly can (and probably should) use 12 c client.  Oracle certifies customers until two major releases far they connect to databases.  Are all of my db 11.2.0.4, but I've been installing only customers of 12 c for a couple of years now.
