Stacking question 3750 G/3750 Switch 3 stack

Hi all

We know a problem that seems to contradict itself on a stack of 3 switches. The question that we see does not seem to be very well described in the Cisco documentation, so just watch the State exists, but not if it's good or bad.

I note an exit on the issue below.

Dude, you don't need to worry about what it is.
Based on your post. you are concerned about newspapers below:

Trace event data, Debug the battery
==============================================================
Event LINK: link status change
RAC event type: RAC changes not OK
Type of event SYNC: sync changes to not OK

There is nothing to fear the newspapers above. This is quite normal.
If you want proof check out this Cisco documentation, you can see that the 'see the platform stack buffer ports' shows.

  • Recovery of password on a 3750 Switch

I tried a recovery of password on Cisco 3750 switch. I followed all the steps and got to the point where I copied the config.text to the running-config. After that, I got the switch privilege exec mode. When I tried to configure the switch with a new enable password, I got the following result

    Switch1 # conf t

    Authorization failed %

Even the show commands do not seem to work

    Switch1 # sh run

    Authorization failed %

Switch1 # sh ip int brief

Can anyone suggest how to get on this question to reset the password of the switch.

    Thanks in advance,

Do you need to keep the configuration? If does not need, do not copy the file config.text to the running-config. Password recovery is over.

If you need does the following.

Do not copy the file config.text to the running-config. Before copying to the computer file config.text. Open and edit with Notepad (remove the aaa and change the enable password). Then, copy the file config.text (which you changed) for the running-config.

  • CBWFQ on Catalyst 3750 Switch

Cisco switch Catalyst 3750 does support QoS CBWFQ?

I would understand if the catalyst IOS supports control of bandwidth to a class and offer a minimum bandwidth in a situation of congestion. I have a few applications that need to increase its flow when other classes use their bandwidth. On my 3750 I don't see bandwidth control.

    Thank you very much.

Hi you should not have to configure the qos of the mls, just use the political function of the to apply, but from what I remember there are restrictions on 3750 s I don't think you can apply the outbound policy only entrants, but he was able to change most recent IOS, I have not tested recently

It is a good doc on 3750 s qos

So, given that the switch works well, so there could be something wrong with the light, front or the mode button which are all cosmetics and should not impact on the switch.

  • Question about newspaper frequent switches

I support a database Oracle 10 g (10.2.0.4) server and database activity increased until, during the heaviest parts of the day, the newspaper of the switches are produced too often (15-20 times per hour!). We also use Data Guard to replicate the database on our site of DR. We currently have 2 groups of newspapers with 2 members of each group.

I understand that I can address this issue in 2 ways: either to increase the size of my recovery of the log files (they are currently 50 Meg each), or I can add make additional journal groups to the database.

I would like to get some opinions on whether on solution is better than the other, or the advantages and disadvantages of each action.

Thanks in advance for your advice with my question!

The two solutions solve different problems.

Increase in the size of the log files, it is preventing log switches occur too often.
Add redo log groups ensures that if you frequent newspaper switches your database doesn't stop waiting for archive to catch up.

If you generate logs of 50 MB x 20 = 1 GB to repeat information on time and your log files are 50 MB a piece, you'll always have 20 journal of the switches / hour regardless of the number of redo log groups adding redo log groups buys archiver of time.

Imagine that you have only 2 redo log groups and start generating this recovery at T = 0. At T = 4 minutes, the first newspaper group fills so newspaper group 2 becomes active and the archiver begins it archiving. At T = 6 minutes, the second group of log fills up. If the archiver is not done, the database must stop and wait the archiver catch up. Adding groups of newspapers again you give a larger buffer just in case you get a flurry of activity.

  • Major question Dhcp on cisco switch please help!

    Hi Experts,
One of our remote sites has Cisco 2811 router and switch 3650. The switch provides switching and DHCP PC to all customers.
Please see attachment for more details files.
    Problem:
After the expiry of the term of the DHCP lease (10 hours), some of the PC (Windows 7) on the remote site received Windows popup says that duplicate IP. Then, the network connectivity of the computer has been disconnected. After you restart the PC, then its network connectivity was back to active state.
If all the computers have been placed in static mode, there is no problem.
Please see the attached configuration of the router and Switch.
    Thank you very much

It's strange this generally solves the problem of IP duplicate

How to put the DHCP server on the router instead of this?

what you get when you place an order 'show ip dhcp conflict '.

also can you share the command 'show ip dhcp pool '.

  • Questions of circuits with switches HP BC at base of Cisco

I saw a few topics on this already posted, some days ago, but I am unable to get my systems to operate in the way that I prefer. Let me start by saying that I'm not a genius of the network, but I am very familiar with VMware itself. In my past lives, I asked just a trunk, EtherChannel X # of VLAN and I scored on the vSwitch. However, because of the cost of equipment Cisco, a new BladeCenter HP c3000 was purchased with GbE2c layer 2/3 Ethernet Blade switches and a group of us here can't understand how best to configure. I hope that someone here has experience in this area.

    Existing configuration

    Cisco 6509 < = dual Ethernet 1 Gbps w / LACP (active) = > HP GbE2c Blade Switch < = several Configs VLAN = > Blade (i.e. Bay 5)

    Problem

Whenever a new VLAN is added to the trunk, it must touch every single HP switch to manually add any VLANS. Takes forever to get the new VLAN. Also, it is expected that we get the cumulative flow that I don't think that works without groups of circuits from HP (according to my reading). I could be wrong however.

    Desire

Configure the HP switch so that it passes all the trunk contents up to the ESXi host and configures port groups only / VLAN tags to the dvSwitch. Thus whenever definition trunk changes, everything that is needed in ESX is to create the new dvPortGroup. In addition, they expect aggregation of bandwidth between the uplinks in the dvSwitch.

Is it possible to reach this configuration? Hosts run ESXi 4.1.

P.S. I'm keep simple right now, ultimately I have can I extend that to 10 G ethernet and four or more rising by dvSwitch.

    Hello.

We also have HP c3000/c7000 with HP GbE2c switches connected to Cisco switches.

Each new VLAN, I create on Cisco, I have to create this VLAN on HP switches.

I doubt that it is possible to not do it only once. To do this, HP switches must be member of the Cisco VTP domain, but as I know that HP does not support exclusive Cisco VTP. HP supports a similar protocol called GARP.

    Kind regards

  • switch 3750 EAPoL transmission RADIUS server

I have a running version of the 3750 switch stack 12.2 (53) SE2 IPBASEK9-M. I have dot1x configured on the switch and a Windows 7 PC, connected with 802. 1 x configured on the interface. I see the EAPoL start message from the PC, but I do not see the packets from the switch to the RADIUS server RADIUS. I have a config simple dot1x just to try to make it work before adding additional features such as comments - vlan...

Config and debug of attached file.

I don't know if the configuration ip dhcp snooping and arp of inspection is cause a problem with that or not. I see the EAPoL packet received on the switch, as shown in the attachment of debugging, but I never see the RADIUS packet. I've defined both trust on the interface, but always the same result. I can't turn it off because there is a switch of production with a test interface.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

    Mark

I had the same problem and solved it is enough to configure the switch as authenticator instead of "supplicant". "Supplicant" means customer, "authenticator" means in fact the switch acts as an authenticator to pass through, it will forward the requests to the auth server, for example, host of RADIUS.

  • Switch SF300 trunk with a 3750

Is it possible to stem a SF300 switch with a 3750 switch? If so, how? Whenever I turn on the 3750 trunking port I lose connection to the SF300.

I'd appreciate any help, thank you

    Larnel

    Hi Larnel,

You can do so by setting the 3750 for 802. 1 q ecapsulation on the trunk port, set it vlan native and wait for VLAN throughout. On the SF300, you must run the same process create the trunk port, enable the VLAN and set the PVID to match the VLAN native on the 3750 trunk interface. To do this, you will need from your VLAN pre-configured on both switches. Hope this helps you.

  • Time of the boot to 3750 (reduced time election battery)

I have a WS-C3750G-of 12 years which, in the foreseeable future, will be used as a standalone switch. Is there a way to reduce or eliminate the election period stack to speed up the boot process?

    JPH

What IOS version you are using? From 12.2 (35) loosen, the window of the election of master was reduced to 5 seconds if 3750 switch runs in stand-alone mode (no battery connected cable).

  • Stacking!

    Hello

I want to know if its possible to superimpose my old switch WS-C3750G-12 s-S with WS-C3750X-s-12s ?

Also can someone me What WS-C3750G-12 s-S can be stacked with what other switches?

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Thank you & best regards

    Joubert.

You can stack 3750G and X 3750 switches, but you will lose the possibility Stackwise + so your stack ring will operate at the speed stackwise below.

I think the same thing must have IOS, I read the 3750G must be at least 12.2 (53) in order to support the x 3750 series switches.

You will also need to double-check the licenses.

  • SGE2010 customers have need to route through ASA 5505 & 3750

    Please see the included diagram.

I need to move out of the 3750 client machines (and DHCP dependence on it) to the SGE2010 and absolutely to carry their internet traffic on through the external interface on the 5505. They must also be able to communicate in the internal environment to communicate with the production servers.

Customers use actuellement.254 speaking through a silent dell in the 3750 switch, but I'm trying to migrate more slowly at la.253. I know that the 2010 will not DHCP, so I put a DHCP server on this switch now. The 5505 will not let me add a statement additional nameif on one of the other eth0 / x interfaces and I don't know if this has something to do with its capacity to act as a DHCP server (it is not an option in the ASDM) or he has ability to use internet gateway for customers in 2010. (Quick notes: The 5505 has a base license and is currently also site to 1 VPN connection.) As the 5520, then all its interfaces are used as well).

I have statically assigned a customer moved with an adresse.253 and plugged into the 2010. I tried to give the 2010 both an adresse.4 and an adresse.253 but neither will allow me to ping on the 5505 addresses. The 2010 auto shows routes to two subnets and I put its default route to 253.1.

The link between 2010 and the 3750 works - clients receive an adresse.254 of the 3750 and can get out to the internet via the 5505 and reach as well production servers.

Why don't the 2010 see the 5505 as a gateway and allow customers to access the internet and also browse the 3750 when they need to access the production network?

Now, the key to monkey. The reason why I am not "just connect both cheating and call a day is because I need also Always go out production servers / web applications via the interface of 5520 out outside/inside."

I have such a package of wire trouble my head around why I can't get my customers moved to the new switch, I have not yet figured out how I'll do it again.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Scott

    Hi Scott,.

OK, you'll have several IP networks connected on the SGE2010... that's fine that the switch can operate in Layer 3 mode.

But the ASA5505 or the SGE2010 may only be granted to PC customers who are hooked the switch SGE2010 default gateway ports?

If the SGE2010 is made the default gateway for the PC clients, the SGE2010 will go to layer 3 packets between appropriate subnets.

(depending on whether you have added a few static routes inside your SGE2010)

If the SAA is the gateway to the host PC, the ASA will route traffic accordingly.

    Best regards, Dave

  • which switch to a 16 floor building

    Hi guys.

I am designing a network for a 16 floor building. The network will include about 400 IP cameras - all POE or UPOE from a central location. Everything is going to be multicast. My questions are:

What should be used? I was thinking about 3750-X with double 1100w power for basic switches and devices UPOE drawing of 50w each.

Some soils will only have 20 devices POE + up to what should be used for those? they must be capable of multicasting.

What the network design? I can wreath say 4 floors at the same time so 4 x 4

Many questions more, this is my first drawing of complete network so I want to be sure that I have thought of everything.

    Thank you

    Here's what I'd do:

The list of all endpoint devices that require a PoE power on each floor
with these data, I can calculate and compare which and how many switches I will place on each floor

For your switch, the more redundant best and also have a 3750 Switch x stacked.
and on each physical switch have one connection for each of the switches, since it is stacked, that is, a logical switch I can configure port-channel since the cameras can use a lot of biological weapons, especially it COMP

and oh yes, if I where you, with so many stories, I would probably just 4 switches.
SFIM can have 1-2 links to the MDFs (even when some may require 2-4 links according to the BW requirement in particular because there are cameras) and their link aggregation.

for your plan of power CS! well better the more redundant.

And hey if you have the budget, you can even install battery on your criticism IDFS switches. (for example, the switches connected to them)
