Standby and hibernation are gone power options

For the settings in the "Power options properties" folder (not the folder), I did something to cause the ability to enter "sleep" mode and mode to completely disappear as hibernation options. Now when I want to turn off my Gateway NX500S laptop, the only options are shut down or restart. Can someone help me solve this problem?

Sam, see if this Microsoft Support article is no help.

I got my laptop from my college. It was a v7 Aspire 481p with 8 pre-installed windows. I wanted to install linux and the system has failed because of the "Secure Boot" functionality in the UEFI Bios. So I went in "Legacy" mode Now, the system is not started. I had a Windows 8.1 so I used it to start my system using a Bootable usb key with the bios in "legacy" mode

8.1 windows successfully installed. Use the key that I had extracted from windows 8 using software "produkey" after installing windows 8.1. And 8.1 of windows has been activated. The system has 500 GB HDD + 23 GB SSD. Now, it's almost works very well and the bios is in "Legacy" Mode I have not yet installed linux. At the time current Backed up all my data on an external HARD drive.

    It is:

I installed some drivers I downloaded at acer for windows 8.1. The problem is that the system does not properly in mode 'sleep' and in hibernation mode. In both cases, the screen turns off leaving power on the system.

Here are the screenshots of the list of the installed software before and after:

Front (with UEFI Bios, windows 8)

    After that, now (present condition)

The system is still in ' traditional '.

Apparently, I have installed some drivers because I thought they might not be important, but I'm going to install all drivers and system software in the screenshot before.

Help me, I would like to know where I am going wrong. I also want to install linux and UEFI with secure boot doesnot allow.

Also let me know is to "legacy" mode has drawbacks. Speed of the system was unaffected much after the change in legacy mode in the bios.

    Expecting a quicker response.

  • Satellite A200-14F - standby and hibernation does not work

    Hello
I bought A200-14th with Windows Vista preinstalled. When I switched to Windows XP, I discovered that the standby and hibernation works. When I try to switch to the standby screen becomes black, but power light gets not "Brown" as it should. It is blue. From time to time, HDD light flashes also.

I tried to reinstall Windows twice, but it does not work every time. Once, I installed the drivers in some are specific as well as I did the job. But unfortunately I had to reinstall XP once more, and I do not remember that I should install the drivers.

If you have had the similar problem please write what I have to do.

    Hello

After Installing Win XP, you must update the BIOS to the XP version.
You should check the page European driver of Toshiba. There are BIOS for Win XP.

After the BIOS update you reinstall Windows XP, the latest status update and install all Toshiba drivers and utilities.

  • All my tiles and documents are gone & my computer will not regenerate

I turned on my computer this morning and my desktop image was changed, all my documents are gone and I have 3 tiles left Office Internet Explorer and store. I tried to right click in the lower right corner, but there was only the previously mentioned 3. I tried refreshing my PC, but it won't let me not entered to the top could not refresh. I got the documents on the pc where I had worked on for weeks and they are not in the history of the files either or one of the 150 photos.
    Please help me.

You must confirm the first though if someone created a new administrator account so that you old account can be disabled or removed.

In the case where non of above things that happened your pc can hit for some viruses then I would say to retrieve your data deleted first.
Data recovery, you can use any freeware program like Recuva and make sure you select another drive of recovered data. You can make this setting any external hard drive or a separate partition.
Once you have retrieved all your files, then I would recommend to perform a clean boot of formatting your hard drive and install a fresh copy of windows. Thank you

  • Use 6 s more: iPhone battery is not displayed and the time standby and use are the same, even I do not use it

Hello. I just bought an Iphone 6s MORE and just updated to iOS 9.2 and I had this problem with applications that consume my battery is to say the list of applications that drain the battery does NOT appear when I click on settings > battery. And also I meet another problem that is my standby and usage time appeared at the same time even if I SLEEP there during the entire period. Someone of you this problem? If yes kindly share here how you can solve the problem

Force restart the phone now sleep and home for 10 seconds, button until the Apple logo comes back again.

You won't lose data, but which can cure some problems after installing new software.

The same use and waiting time is a sign for some applications, always running in the background, even when the phone is in standby. Restart will force close those apps.

The list of applications appears only when you used some applications for some time.

  • M30X: Problem with standby and hibernation modes

    Hello

In my M30x, I configured my laptop to Hibernate when near the lid. However, when I turn on the computer after this hibernation, there is a problem with the sound settings - I cannot play any music or cannot use a microphone outside, unless I reboot. If reboot is required, then there is no sense to use this feature of hibernation. Also, sometimes after these Awakenings (turn on after hibernation) my mouse (touchpad) spontaneously turns off. This happens when I plug my pc on TV, then come back and close the cover. There someone experiencing similar problems and can help me? Thanks in advance

[Edited by: admin on 8 May 05 08:02]

    Hello

It is not easy to say what can be the cause of this problem. I very often use the hibernation mode and there is no problem that even several applications are open. You have this problem only if the device is connected to the TV or every time after hibernation mode?

It will also be interesting to know if this occurs after each process of awakening or first several modes of hibernation.

  • had to install the new operating system and bookmarks are gone

Hiya. I had problems with the computer and the fix was to install a new operating system (windows 7 it was old, windows 8 is the new). Most of my old files make the switch, but when I downloaded firefox, my favorites have disappeared. I looked in my profile in the menu, but it's the profile that I created today by downloading firefox. Where can I find my old profile? Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you, Billy

Was this an upgrade of type "on the spot" where your user folder

    C:\Users\youroldusername\

was intact, or did you end up with a new user folder? In the case of a new user folder, you will find a folder named

    C:\Windows.old\Users\youroldusername\

If so, your Firefox data are probably here - and here's how I suggest to access:

First of all, it would be useful to set windows to display the hidden files and folders. This article has the steps: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/show-hidden-files

    Then click in:

    Username\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles C:\Windows.old\Users\

Note: there is a cache under AppData\Local folder, but everything important is under AppData\Roaming.

Here you can find one or several folders named random semi. Who has most recently updated content is probably one you want to restore.

This post has my suggested procedure to resurrect these data in your new installation of Firefox. Please note the use of the copy instead of move throughout the process. This allows you to try again if it fails somewhere along the way.

    https://support.Mozilla.org/questions/1024189#answer-638319

    A little luck?

Note that if you really ONLY want to bookmark, copy the last two backups of the old bookmarkbackups folder to a location such as the desktop, see the following article (you will use 'Choose file' in the menu to access these backups): restoring bookmarks from a backup or move them to another computer. Note that this process will replace all new bookmarks that you may have saved since installing Firefox again. If you need to preserve those, first use the export feature: Export Firefox bookmarks to an HTML file for backup or transfer bookmarks.

  • I've set up an IMAP account on a POP3 account merged yesterday and now 95% of records and emails are gone when I opened the program, where's the data?

Earlier, I set up Thunderbird to use my IMAP account. I wanted to convert a POP3 account, so I've added it to the list of accounts in Thunderbird. I copied all the folders on the IMAP account on the POP3 account and continued implementation of the POP3 account with certain filtering rules. Once I have seen that the e-mails were being downloaded, and things were working properly, I removed the mails from my Google IMAP account. This morning when I open Thunderbird, there is only one small file set upward in my POP3 account and nothing else. Filtering rules that I put in place are in place, but the emails and folders disappeared. I need help in recovering emails!

Okay, I think I got it today.

Of Thunderbird, create a new folder "Richclean" under the account "[email protected]".

Right-click on the account - new folder

EC that it creates in the file system under mailmail.richclean - 1.?

Versions of Firefox 3.6 + have a feature to allow the user to hide the Menu bar.

Press the Alt key to temporarily show the Menu bar, then open view > toolbars and select menu bar, so it has a check mark.

The F10 can also be used on most PCs to temporarily reveal the menu bar.

  • All the icons and shortcuts are gone from my computer screen.

I down loaded a wiget google today and subsequently, I have experienced this problem. All my programs and all shortcuts are availble by Explorer and open the folder deshtop. They work very well, but the computer screen does not display them. When I opened the they seem normal, so it doesn't seem to be a problem with the monitor. When I try to drag or send to, or save, I get a message that says that they cannot be sent to their current location. The computer knows that they are in the file offers / office but don't show them on the screen. I have add / remove programs but no change. I sent a file that was in a different place and it went in the desktop folder but not on the screen. It's like there's a toggle to see the show/don ' t somewhere. There is no corruption in the programs or files. Thank you for any advise you can give.

  • Admin Username and domain are gone

I tried to add an addiotnal username to my computer a few days ago and now I've lost my user admin account I try to connect to windows, and it's a whole new account. I can't make any changes because I'm not in the administrative account. Of course, I screwed up something trying to add another user. I have changed the path of the field and lost the path on my user account. What should I do? All my documents, pictures, email, etc. are in my user admin account.

Initially, I bought this computer when I worked at a real estate compnay. They install my connection and I'm the only user. I need to contact a professional and pay to have my system restored? My computer works and it happened out of no where... I clearly messed up... Help, please!

This looks like a simple case of a corrupted profile.  You will always have administrator privileges on your account.  The quick way to check is to right-click on 'start '.  If the choice is "Open All Users", then you have administrator privileges.

To retrieve your files, etc., follow the procedure described in the following Microsoft KB article:
