Start HP Pavilion DV6000 problem

Hello

Laptop: HP Pavilion DV6000 - P/N GH882EA #ABH

After the hard disk crash, I installed the new hard drive and installed Windows 7 successfully.

I don't have a recovery disk (East on previous hard drive that crashed before).

After that I checked the BIOS updates / etc. graphics driver on HP support site, I downloaded some of them.

Installation of the update SP48121 BIOS stopped at 39 fo 42 blocks. I waited for 3 hours, but nothing happened.

Then, I decided to power the laptop, knowing that it could cause serious problems.

Now I have serious problems, because my laptop won't boot any upward.

I am facing a black screen and 1 long and 2 short beeps.

After I removed the RAM, the ringing has stopped, but I'm stil looking at a black screen.

I studied different solutions on this forum, but nothing works for me. Does not even flashing the BIOS; the screen is always black.

That's why I ask you if you can provide a working solution.

Kind regards.

Fair enough, I just wanted to be sure.

I think at this stage, that the problem is with the motherboard. I will seek to have it replaced.

HP Pavilion dv6000 (Vista) starts with a blank screen with a cursor after the original hp logo screen.  Cannot get it to boot Windows.  Any thoughts on next steps?

I remove the hard drive and attach it to your desktop and use the host operating system to run a check disk on your drive.  The laptop goes hard disk looking for instructions to start and he does not see the correct code.  This is probably due to a damaged boot sector.  Another idea is that your bios has changed and you have changed the SATA from AHCI to IDE type somehow or vice versa. You also left a non bootable disk in the DVD/CD drive.  Remove all disks from your DVD.

  • Pavilion dv6000: activate embedded speakers

I have a HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop running Vista. Recently, I bought a pair of external speakers that connect to the computer via the USB cable and the software owner.

Trying to get these external speakers to work I went to control panel > sounds and choose an option to disable the onboard speakers. This caused the icon for the onboard speakers to disappear.

Now the laptop plays sound only through external speakers. Can someone please offer me assistance to the reactivation of the speakers on board?

In the absence of any response, I started scratching around me to try to find clues that could lead to a solution.

Because I thought that the laptop sound card drivers may need to be reinstalled I tried "hp notebook drivers" and in very little time looking at this page: http://tinyurl.com/kkjqrs. One of the topics he is 'not to sound or Audio in Vista problems' - it's well to the top of my street.

After that following the method to "perform a simple system of his essay" and the reading of the following points, it occurred to me that Vista doesn't no default display device disabled on this portable icons. Right click, select poster devices disabled and I have been home and hosed.

I'll give myself a pat on the back!

  • HP Pavilion dv6000 will not contribute to that.

I have a HP Pavilion dv6000 for some years, and suddenly, he will supply any.  I don't know that something happens at all when I press the power button.  What's weird is that when I connect the power, the LED AC (the one with the lightning bolt above it) lights and stays on for 30 seconds and then turns off.  During this time and afterwards, not at all, the lights, and the computer will not power.  I tried to remove the battery and power cord and holding the button power for 45 seconds, several times, but nothing is working.  I hope you can offer some tips on things to try.

    Thank you

    Zach

I made a breakthrough!  When I took the screen out, I also unplugged the inverter Board who joined the power to the LCD screen.  I plugged the AC and tried the power button, but it does not turn on.  While I would not lose the Commission, I plugged into the computer.  Before my eyes, the computer began to market.  At this point, I was able to switch to an external display (using Fn + F4) and I was good to go.  Bottom line is, if you have a laptop series dv which only lights up with a broken screen, remove and the inverter Board, plug AC in the reatattch of the Council of the inverter.

Now, this won't probably solved most of the problems you guys are, but it fixed mine, then I'll call the expressions of folklore on this one.

    Thank you

  • Updating BIOS for Win7 on Pavilion DV6000

    Hello

I have an older HP Pavilion DV6000 with 4 GB of RAM (2 GB RAM upgrade).    However, only 2.69 GB can be used.   It has been suggested that I have upgraded the BIOS and turn "remapping memory."    The OS is Win7 Home Premium 32 bit OS.

l has a problem to find good BIOS upgrade.

Currently, the version of the BIOS is F.3D

    Processor: AMD Turion 64 x 2 Mobile Technology TL-56 1.80 Ghz

    Product ID: 00359-062-3478866-85570

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated as my new software needs more RAM to work.

    Thank you!

    Sam

    You are the very welcome.

Chart type is the main factor.

Even if your laptop has a Nvidia graphics card, a system memory is set aside for the graphics.

There is nothing you can do to change the amount of memory usable in your PC, unfortunately.

  • Try to find information about the HP Pavilion DV6000 series

Anyone know why it is so incredibly difficult to find information on the HP website about the series HP Pavilion DV6000 of computers, and where I can find if it still exists?  I have found information on other sites that indicate enough although this computer of fixation for a sis friend hopeless and I am inclined to agree with what I've seen so far, but I can't find the lists of computers that are supposed to exist indicating which computers are supposedly devastated with this 'hopeless problem', it is currently impossible for me to confirm the verdict.  I prefer finally reach my own conclusions using as much information that I can possibly understand rather than simply using opinions limited to some people, and that is why I would be very happy for any information you could give me on this issue.

The system in question is HP Pavilion DV6000 series with a specific model of DV6405US number and the system shows that it is well powered food, but when you press the power button, the only thing that happens is that the battery light flashes three times and then absolutely nothing.  If I try the system on battery only, I get no response whatsoever, and I get same answer on AC power only.  I only get the flash answer three with AC and battery connected, and that's the only answer I got from the system.  This answer will repeat as many times as I press the power button.  I tried unplugging all sources of energy and don't let the rest of the system for an hour, by pressing the power button for about a minute, reconnect the power supply and I still get no results whatsoever, unless I have reinstall the battery.  At that point, he returned to simply give me only the three flashes of light battery.

I don't know of a list of anywhere that gives all of the models affected by the Nvidia gpu failure, but I can tell you that the DV6405US has the Nvidia GeForce Go 6150 , which is well understood. Models with this gpu have been included in a regulation by Nvidia that include spare laptops. Unfortunately, the deadline under the regulations is long expired.

Several members have used the service of repair HERE and reported excellent results. And before you ask_no, I am not affiliated in any way with this service. I simply have viable options for owners to post this problem and have seen its results. One of my personal friends even recently used his service and was very happy.

  • HP Pavilion DV6000 CPU upgrade question

    Hi, first post.

Just given a free laptop DV6000 and I like to tinker. Have built & modified several jobs over the years, but this is my first laptop.

Identify the first thing. Top screen bezel page HR said HP Pavilion DV6000

Said a slogan on bottom DV6700, but also DV6818CA (isn't it a Canadian cell phone, with a bilingual keyboard).

I think I'll give up the bilingual keyboard, because it lacks the F10 key they resemble only 15 dollars off Ebay in any case.

BUT, when I did a scan on Crucial.com memory, they said it was a Pavilion dv6700t series

Product # background is: KN948UA #ABC if this is useful it nail?

Googling the product # gives this hit: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01393353

It has 4 GB of RAM in it, right now and is under Win7 Home Premium.

I think to get the fastest processor that the Mobo can handle and stick it in there. At present, it has a @1 T2370. 73 Ghz, and from what I understand, I can put in the processor the faster is a T7800 @ 2.6 Ghz (if I read correctly)

Advice or direct experience anyone? Thanks in advance.

Oh, and PS, I had read that an update of the BIOS when running Win7 would brick of the PC, is it true?

I can easily get back to Vista and do an update of the BIOS in the first place, if necessary, the new processor, then reinstall Win7.

My BIOS version is F.52 24/03/2008

    Hello:

I must have missed reading your post.

It's because I don't watch that normally messages unanswered, and yours is as responded because you posted more than once until I woke up the next morning.

Your laptop may actually take the T9500 since you have an equal or superior to F.45 bios.

The release notes for F.45 State... Adds support for Intel Core 2 Duo Mobile Processors T8100, T8300, T9300, T9500.  Fixes the problem where the 1394 port may not work after the release of the standby mode.

Yes, you will definitely your laptop brick if you update the BIOS while running Windows 7.  You need to Flash the BIOS in Vista.

Memory... Yes, your PC will work happily 2 x 4 GB PC2 - 5300 or memory 6400. However, unlike the desktop version of the 965 chipset that manages the memory at 800 MHz, the mobile version runs only the memory at 667 MHz.

You can read that this related thread about memory in dv6500 + Intel models with the 965 chipset.

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/notebook-hardware-e-g-Windows-8/the-dv6700z-and-dv9700z-will-support-over-4GB-of-RAM/m-p/566163#M42472

The bad news is that if you have not already this memory (or you can get it at a steep discount), you will pay over $ 200 for 2 x 4 GB for memory that you need.

I would think more than twice before shelling out that kind of $$$ for the memory of a dated PC.

  • HP Pavilion dv6000 wireless crimps/leads damaged card

About 5 months ago I had to replace my radiator on my HP Pavilion dv6000 (from what I can tell, the problems of heating on these machines are multiple), and to do this, I had to remove the crimps/sons of my wireless card.  To be honest, I do not exactly know what these sons are; I think they are antennas.  In any case, I could very well remove them, but, having managed to replace the heat sink (this + a cooling block have solved my problems of overheating), I was unable to attach the two easy / leads to the wireless card.  I tried and I tried to make a long story short, I ended up cutting crimps termini (it was probably a big mistake) because I could not the crimping operations abruptly on the wireless card. I thought that maybe some creative remodeling with pliers would help, but it did not.  I finally gave up, and my now-no-overheating PC was not wireless access.  I was using another machine, an Acer Aspire, for all my wireless needs all these months.  Now, 320 this Acer Aspire GB of HARD drive has crapped out (maybe because I downloaded to it more than 4 to 5 months) and by examining a disk replacing HARD economic, it suddenly occurred to me: my wireless card is fine, it's just two easy/that the cords are messy.

So, my question now obvious: is it possible that I can replace or re - connect these crimps/conduit to the wireless card?  What brought this question after all these months is that I finally noticed that crimps/wires are is not part of the whole of the wireless card; just buy a replacement wireless card would accomplish nothing.  What are these wires attached (antenna?), and if I can solve my problem with the materials I have, and if not, what documents do I need?

    Thank you!

They run to the top of the map without wire on the motherboard and the housing of the display and the other clips to end on the top of the screen. There is a system of channels and clips that prevent the son of flopping autour in there. Restringing drivers wireless antenna is one of the most interesting challenges when you replace a motherboard for example.

  • Install Windows 7 on Pavilion dv6000

I have a HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop with a hard drive is partitioned.  A partition contains the recovery program, which will install Windows XP should I ever need to do.  I recently installed Windows 7 on the other partition and think it would be wise to install Windows 7 on the recovery partition, whereas if it is still necessary, it would be to reinstall Windows 7 rather than Windows XP.  How can I accomplish this?

When you request support, please provide the model name and product number complete (p/n) of the HP computer in question. HP/Compaq made thousands of computer models. Without this information, it can be difficult, even impossible to help you solve your problem.

The information requested above are on the bottom of your computer, inside the battery compartment or on the BIOS boot screen. Please see How can I find my model number or product number? for help more to find this information. DO NOT include your serial number. Please enter the product/model information consumer HP Online Support page and post it here for our review.

You cannot create a Windows 7 recovery partition. The HP Recovery provided on your computer partition is specific to the operating system that is installed at the factory and the original software. The only way to reinstall Windows 7 is to use the same Windows 7 installation media and key you used this time. You can also create a backup Image of the system Windows on an external hard drive and the recovery of the computer at this point, if you ever have a problem.

  • Cannot remove battery HP Pavilion DV6000

    Hello

I got a HP Pavilion DV6000 for four years now and have never been able to remove the battery. It's also 2 x bigger in size - it is a bit like a leg for the laptop. My problem is that his switch is stuck on the right side (where the CD rom is) and it is impossible to move. Also, the battery is not securely fixed - I can come out a little.

Although there is no problem with its operation, I want to remove it, because I want to change the CPU - maybe someone could suggest how I could do it without removing the battery.

I would appreciate any help seriously

Thanks, but I found a solution - the company that bought told me it's possible to put a credit card in the back, then it is pushed out of the back pins. And it came out. So this problem solved

    Thanks anyway

  • HP Pavilion DV6000 recovery will not work

HP Pavilion DV6000 won't start correctly?

I have a HP Pavilion DV6000 that gets regular use. Usually I just put it in hibernation when I go to bed, and I reboot once a week or more. Toda I used my Google Chrome and I clicked on a link that a friend had posted. It was not a pirate station, it was a legitimate link. I have brought me to a Web site where I clicked on "Send feedback" in an attempt to respond to messages that my friend had posted on the Web site. I saw a few windows will happen, but they are all closed. My HP immediately frozen, thawed if necessary, froze again and etc. I used the power button to turn it off. When I tried to turn it back on, the screen froze on the Windows logo when starting the system. I turn it off, he turned back and told the system to check for errors. After wIting about ten minutes, he asked me if I wanted to do a full restore to an earlier date where the system had worked properly. After a twenty minute wait for a process that has cost take only a few minutes, I clicked on cancel, but the computer says that the process cannot be canceled. So I rebooted the system and done the same thing. This time when I clicked on cancel, the computer froze. My fn key keyboard that I often have to rely on if I want to use one of the buttons f figure. I watched a video on the operation of a recovery of the system that says to press f11 when arrives a secod address System Recovery. I tried just hit f11 for a minute and tried to hold the fn key while pressing f11 for a minute, but nothing happened. I have a HP Pavilion DV6.

It seems that the hard drive may have failed. Enter the BIOS by typing/holding the F10 key immediately after switching on the laptop. Use Diagnostics to test your hard drive.

  • Help! Wireless works but no cable Ethernet on HP Pavilion dv6000

    Hello

I run Windows Vista on my HP Pavilion dv6000.

It has been over a year now that my laptop does not detect the ethernet cable. I probably should have reported this problem to the point where it happened, but since I used only a wi - fi connection, I never saw the need of my ethernet cable. I just found out about the problem, when a wi - fi connection was turned off at our dorm and I got you connect using ethernet cable of the University. Now I'm abroad and the only way I can connect to the internet is the ethernet cable, it's why I ask your help.

Does anyone have an idea on how I could solve this problem? I tried to restore the material LAN and broadband services using the catering Manager, but no change has been observed. My computer does not see the ethernet and only makes me want to connect via wireless or dial-up. And I do not have access or at the present time.

If anyone has an idea on how I could restore the ethernet on my laptop, I would be really grateful!

    Thank you!

Nope, that's all the information I need.

From the info you have provided, I think that the chip on board NETWORK cable on the motherboard is faulty.

  • Repairs and breakdowns of HP Pavilion dv6000

Is anyone having problems with HP and fix their defective product, I'm stuck in the middle with a case manager and being left out in the cold with an error of $1500! I bought my laptop in March 2007 and about 3 or 4 months after buying my laptop motherboard grilled, I sent it to be repaired and it was repaired. Then I have claimed on the series problems wireless as well as HP and model that I have, it is a problem to know and so HP "Enhanced" warranty for another year, making repairable free until May 2009, but because I was not informed of the improvement I had to pay out of pocket to have the motherboard replaced with best buy (which incidentally will not repair it again due to the fault) the mother Board) in February 2009 and then the laptop was fine for about a month and went down again the wireless and I didn't have the money to fix, because I knew that my warranty was over... but was an improvement that almost everyone I saw didn't know about HP. In June 2009, about the same amount of time (3 or 4 months after 2nd repair) after that I fixed the laptop that it burned again, now I know there is a rule 3, but HP tries to run from this major epidemic with this defective series, this would make the third time that I have my laptop fixed I'm waiting for a call from case manager but there seems to be another game that HP will play so they don't have to pay. I have proof that I paid for the repair of second from his pocket during the period of "Valorisation" and HP should meet at least the fact that I tried to do the right thing by repairing my HP product but I have the feeling that, no longer under warranty they have washed their hands in my blood. I'm not here to slam HP I just that my laptop fixed, not replaced and I am not asking for a laptop better or anything just repaired is all... Do the right thing HP.
