  Your computer is probably infected by malicious software. Some malware will hide all the icons and shortcuts on your computer. To make your icons visible again, download Unhide.

   

  Once downloaded, double-click display and let it run. It removes the attribute hidden on all files and try to restore the icons on the Start Menu to their location.

  I also noticed that the audio controller is disabled until I restart.

  I found a batch file that will rebuild the icon cache, but this very annoying to have to keep doing it because I have to remote into my computer almost every morning for the daily scrum meetings we hold in a conference room.

  Right-click on an empty spot in the taskbar, and then select Properties.

  See if the taskbar is locked, mark next to registration, if so unlock it with a check, and click on apply.

  Then select the location of it and apply, then block the taskbar.

  If you want to move the icons in the taskbar, unlock it again and then move the icons autour, then relock

  Other options on the start menu are located in the start menu tab in the Properties section.

  My next suggestion would be to uninstall the printer, restart the computer and reinstall.

  1. uninstalling the software of the printer (I recommend the method of control panel to uninstall)

  2. restart the computer to complete the uninstall

  3 Click here to download the complete driver. Once the download is complete, installation will start and then follow the on-screen instructions until the printer is completely installed. I hope that eventually you will be able to open the printer from your desktop software and start a new search.

• Remove Desktop Icon shortcut arrow without creating a black square problem

  I found the following on the web to make the desktop icons disappear (they are transparent rather).  However, it has created a new problem; black square after turning on the laptop the next day.  Black squares did not show up on top of each simple desktop icon, but it's quite a few of them.  I was able to get rid of the black squares by reversing what has been created in the registry keys. but of course the arrows are back.  I don't want to.

  These are the instructions for WINDOWS 7 Home Premium 64-bit: (this is what I'm running on my laptop)

  1. press Windows + R to open the Run dialog box, type regeditand press ENTER.

  2 in regedit, navigate to the location below:
  NOTE: If Shell icons is not in the left pane under the Solution Explorer, right-click on Explorerand click New and key. Type of the Shell icons for the new key name, and then press enter.

  Last night I upgraded to Windows 7 to Windows 8, everything seams to be fine work (faster, more fluid, etc.), but none of the tiles work in the start menu of Windows Store, that is to say, weather, maps, etc. When I click on "all apps" it will load installed programs however.

  I was able to diagnose the problem with agent suspicious actions of Avast turning just stuff the individual parameters, one by one.  After I found the root of my problem was Avast I checked to see if there was an upgrade.  There was.

  I updated Avast and the problem behavior shield now seems fixed.  In other words, I don't have to turn off the setting that I listed above for the tiles to work.  So I recommend to people is to update Avast and see if it solves your problem.  If this isn't the case, then turn off the settings that I mentioned, or disable Avast altogether.

  I sincerely hope one person MS is reading this thread and can transmit this information to their support people.  Avast is one of the most downloaded programs to Vista & 7; There is sure to be thousands of people with the same problem.

  So sorry to hear that you have a question also that all your desktop icons are missing, but also your photos follow these steps using the system restore and see if you can get everything go back to start, run, type this line exactly as it appears without quotes "c:\windows\system32\restore\rstrui.exe" then follow the steps up to a point where the computer work and I hope that the computer works as you had it.
