Start of the PSS directory?

I discovered a directory (C:\WINDOWS\pss) who seems to have backups of the system important files that is, boot.ini etc, but there are also 3 startup programs it too.  I didn't know it was still another source of start-up.  Also, I didn't realize that the PSS folder existed until JV16 Power Tools tells me that there are 3 programs not activated in this directory, because there is no startup.  It is of course (bug with JV16 - but not the reason for this post) and the programmes of Services.

This has me looking for information about the PSS folder. I can't find clear information on the PSS folder and what the aim is.  Of course, there are many reports of virus running from this directory.   I was hoping that the gurus and experts here would be able to shed light on this mysterious file.  I see on google, it is useful to have the backups of the ini system, but I'm curious to know why I have 3 startup programs it which, from what I see are not valid - or are they?

My entries in this directory:

  1. U of the APC PS Status.lnkCommon startup
  2. Boot.ini.Backup
  3. OneNote 2007 Clipper screen and Launcher.lnkStartup
  4. System.ini.Backup
  5. Win.ini.Backup
  6. Start Windows Search.lnkCommon

Hello

The pss folder is used to save the configuration file of system boot, usually on the file "Boot.ini", "System.ini" and the "Win.ini", but other applications may be present as well. The directory listed above will work as well...

    Friends,

Please help me on this issue. Am I'm missing anything here.

    Thanks in advance

In fact up to 7,0 WLS wls always used to create the domain within the BEA dir install dir only.
but we can specify the directory of area outside the facility of dir BEA WLS 8.1.
It's the only relevance for the different directory for a domain you can specify the domain root dir anywhere on the file system.

Now the root directory server the only relevance to the root directory of the server is different from the root dir field is when you have your domain distributed on different machines.
For example: If you have a domain with a server and administrator on a Machine and a server run on the B Machine.
Then you can't have root directory of the managed server, the directory of the domain as the root directory of the domain will reside on computer A and Managed Server Root Dir will reside on the Machine B.

And if you start the managed using the node Manager server and that you have not specified that the directory root of the Managed Server through the java_option then by default the root directory of the managed server will be created with in the nodemanager/common/WLS_HOME directory on computer B.

And if you managed servers in different domains on the same Machine B therefore all managed servers by default their directories root within the nodemanager dir which will make it difficult to recognize what managed server belongs to what field.

Therefore, it is always recommended to have specific server root directories if the field is distributed on several machines.

Hopefully this will clear your queries.

  • Fix necessary... Start with the last directory.

I noticed that in the current version of Muse when I place an asset I choose the directory I am working with and put a [ie: e:/projects/client_name/website/images/file.png], then when I go to place another it puts me in the area "my computer" (Windows 7 ultimate - 64-bit).

Now, before the last update he would have placed me in the directory I finally used, which.

Has anyone else had this experience?

Adobe if you please correct it.

    TIA

It is a known problem since updating to 3.8 Air. You can downgrade to a previous version of Air as a workaround to this problem until this problem is fixed in a future release. See the similar thread next - http://forums.adobe.com/message/5561789.

Your computer may be out of memory or your disk is full"and displays the error code: 0 x 80007114.  (I have a new drive hard with enough space) Outlook Express always open well and functioning normally.  The message mentions and how to fix the problem?  Thank you, Rick

Jump here (nothing Bruce suggested is false), I did a search and found this old article (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/245419), which indicates that there is a bad entry under the identity key in the registry (see www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx for background).  So if it's a big problem, you can do the steps suggested in this article and that will fix it.  Or if you have just one account, then backup your settings and the identity key and then delete the identity key and then start OE and it will establish a new, and you can then set up your account again, and then import the messages from the older directory.  But it does not indicate the major corruption, so you can just ignore it.

XE includes Apex version is 4.0.2 I believe, so 4.1.1 would mean an upgrade has been done or at least tried. This is consistent with the loss of the app to start and perhaps also the http port disabled.

I would like to ask if anyone knows on the upgrade of the Apex, especially for about 20 August.

Of course, there is the theoretical possibility that db restored files came from a different set of installation/database XE, why we see Apex upgraded, etc.

    Hello

I have a portable Satellite Pro L450D I bought there a little more than 12 months. It has an AMD Sempron processor - Windows 7 Home Edition - 32-bit of the system.
My problem is the laptop computer has become so slow, it became impossible to use. I have Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 installed from when I bought last year (definitions up-to-date).
I looked in the task under the tabe of Performance Manager and the CPU usage is always 100%, even when it is not used; No apps or progs running in the background, NOTHING!
I decided to do a new reinstall from the pre-install directory that came with the laptop, but no matter how many times I stop and start upward and press F8 for advanced options, it gives everything except one that allows to select repair the system. It is simply not there at all to select. I have a picture of the screen to the BACK, but this forum seems to not allow the photos to be attached and uploaded.

Also when it starts normally (by default) HDD CD player - opposing the speedy BACKS see the:
    Windows 7
    Windows 7

The first option in Windows 7, when selected will bring me in Windows quite slowly. The second option, Windows 7 takes me for one start of another? Not sure what it is, but it reports an error saying the device is inaccessible and watch something '00000000c' error number?

My question is how can I get the laptop to give me the 'Repair' option when I select F8 at startup for advance settings. I'm stuck. This happens even with the repair disk that I created in the trunk of the drive and bios of the DVD, locate the DVD drive first to initialize to the value top!

Any help or assistance will be appreciated.

PS: I also bought a Toshiba Satellite A660 64 bit Windows 7 Home Premium to i5 processor about 6 months ago and that works beautifully except recently the Toshiba "HDD/SSD Alert" warns my drive is about to fail. but that's a separate topic regarding send it to for replaciement in car under warranty - I already backed up all the files and images of laptops from booth.

    Hey,.

The exact HARD drive recovery procedure is described here:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/Ann.jspa?annID=58

If you don t have the opportunity to find your laptop, you need to use the Toshiba recovery disc but I can't imagine you don t have that option on the recovery disk too

If you start from the recovery disk what is exactly happening and what options get you? Normally, after having started from the recovery disk, you get a screen where you can select the recovery option and you must confirm that all will be removed to restore the out of the box settings.

    You see that?

  • The build directory path appears in the paths of internal vi EXE

Told us our customers use ActiveX to open a vi within our exe file reference years.  However, a few years ago, we had to turn off the use of LabVIEW 8.x file layout, then the exe started to contain the path that our software has been built since.  For example if the construction c:\ourapp\ourapp.lvproj, before changing the layout of the file, we could access ourapp.exe\viinroot.vi.  Now, the paths of vi in the exe would be Ourapp.exe\ourapp\viinroot.vi.  To work around this problem, we have created a virtual disk V:\ and mapped c:\ourapp with the virtual drive.  On our x 64 build machine (with LabVIEW 2014 x 64) thise creates an exe file with the file path expected (ourapp.exe\viinroot.vi).  On our x 86 build machiene, however, the path is ourapp.exe\V\viinroot.vi, which breaks the possibility to our customers to use ActiveX to control our app.

    What should we do?

We have solved this problem.  The root cause was cross linking to vi outside our source code directory.

@mikeporter: we begin to do something like this and it solved the problem in the places where we have implemented this solution.  We went to the root directory where all subdirectories with sub live live and created a vi 'get the root path.vi' he has stripped that it returns path.  Then, we built all paths relative, rather than the path of our exe.

However, there were a few places not permitted in our code that did not build paths quite the same way and so we didn't find and fix this code.  So, we still had to resolve the issue of the included build directory. In another forum post someone described that LabVIEW detects all the dependencies and then back until it finds the root folder most common and then creates the exe with files from this root.  So we understood that some of the vi in our source code were being attached elsewhere.  In particular, they were linked to copies of themselves stored in our automaded build directory.  So the solution OR proposed was mass compile the code directory.  Once we did it, this problem disappeared

  • In previous versions of the CVI, use OpenFile with no path intended to look into the local path (i.e. the installation directory). Is there a way to do this in 2013 CVI?

I use an .ini file to allow users to change the preferneces for starting the program. In the past, this file has lived in the installation directory and OpenFile could find the file cheerfully and apply preferences. In CVI 2013, the program seems to need an implicit path to the file. Is there a way to get around this?

I use not yet CVI2013, but in any case, you can build up to a full path of a file in the folder of the application using the GetProjectDir and MakePathname commands when running.

My computer Guard stops. When it restarts, it displays a message 'invalid or missing files in the installation directory. Please reinstall Extender Player". How can I fix it?

    Hello

    1. have you done any change in software on the computer lately?
    2. are you able to boot in safe mode?
    3. do you have the Extender player installed on your computer?
If so have you tried to re - install?

    Method 1.
If you are able to boot to the desktop then disable automatic reboot.

My computer properties > Advanced tab > startup and recovery settings > uncheck automatically restart.

    Method 2.
Check to see if the problem exists in Safe Mode, if the computer works as expected in mode without failure, then we can solve the problem in the clean boot state.

Note: Configure the computer to start in the State of clean boot to Safe Mode and check.
