StartAsyncTask using and obtaining a return value

Hello

I'm just starting to try and learn LUA and all Lightroom SDK.  Here is a sample of my code:

local lrApplication = import "LrApplication".

local LrTasks = import "LrTasks".

local activeCatalog = lrApplication.activeCatalog)

local currentPhotos = activeCatalog:getMultipleSelectedOrAllPhotos()

are there local = LrTasks.startAsyncTask (function () return currentPhotos [1]: getFormattedMetadata ('fileName') end)

wheneven check or try to use y sucks.

Please someone tell me the stupid thing, I am doing wrong so I lose more hair decrease.

I know that currentPhotos has 5 photos in its collections, because later I do this:

because me, I onePhoto in ipairs (currentPhotos)

and he travels 5 times, matches to the top for the number of photos in the folder I selected in Lightroom.

Thank you.

Start-async-task does not return a value, it just schedules a task and keeps going on - the job runs later.

In general, it is best to start a task immediately in response to a menu button or press selection... and everything in this task. -then you don't need to start anywhere, unless you need it like real parallel processes, such as background tasks.

To avoid multiple tasks from due to asynchronous events, use a form any to avoid recursion.

  • Use the return value to do step digital multiple success or failure

    Hello

I use a multiple digital step to check several measurements by an external DMM through a function created in CVI.  I would like to use the return value of the function to replace the global status of the step. The reason is that the return value indicates a communication error, while steps are being taken, and which would lead to a "fake" fake or false 'Pass '.

What I would do is more or less this >

If the return value is 0, then check if the measuremets are between the limits

If return value! 0 = there was a communication error so step continues to operate independently of the measure.

I tried combining multiple digital step with a step of pass/fail, but it does not work.

I also trie to change the expression of the status of the multiple digital steps but basically ignores him.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

    Javier

Why don't you just make that return the value limits for multiple numerical limit stage.  Comparison of the EQ value and the low limit to 0.

That would make the most sense.

I have a lov and the return value of this lov is assigned to a formval. I have a Viewobject VO1 which is attributed to the return values of point LOV. After selecting a value from the lov, I am tring to get the return value later of the viewobject Vo1 but he still presents as null.

Don't know how to get the return value. Any help is appreciated.

    KK

    KK,

    That's what I understood.

You have a LOV which has 2 lovMaps, it returns the field of LOV and 2 returns the value for the FormValue field.

The formValue field is mapped to an attribute of the VO.

After you select the value from the LOV, you try to get the value returned to the FormValue using the VO attribute attached to the value of the shape.

How are you trying to access the value and where?

    See you soon

    Guys,

I have a requirement where I need to add a field to a seeded page. This field must have a value list using customization that must search the EmployeeName but must return corresponding EmployeeId. To achieve this, I followed the below mentioned steps

1 created EmployeeVO that contains two columns EmployeeName and EmployeeId IN JDEV.
    2. created AM and EmployeeVO annexed.
    3 created EmployeeVORN (/ xxlc/oracle/apps/eam/workplan/lov/webui/EmployeeVORN.xml) and imported.
4 is went to customization and followed the below mentioned steps
    4.1 has created a MessageLOVinput XX_EMP_NAME with /xxlc/oracle/apps/eam/workplan/lov/webui/EmployeeVORN.xml
    Guest: employee name
    4.2 create a following LOV Mapping EMP_NAME_MAPPING
    LOV box item: EmployeeName
    Point of criteria: XX_EMP_NAME
    Goods return: (empty)
4.3 create an another following LOV Mapping EMP_ID_MAPPING
    LOV box item: EmployeeId
    Point of criteria: XX_EMP_NAME
    RMA: XX_EMP_NAME

That's what I've done so far to implement LOV using customization. I can see the name of the employee on the page with the torch trigger. I click on the button of the torch and search for an employee name and after finding it, select using quick selection. But the moment quick selection is made, I see no return value (or EmployeeName EmployeeId) in the region of the employee name field.

  • the return value of tpacall(), tpcall and tpgetrply()

The return value of tpacall() weather, tpcall and tpgetrply() has a rule? I found that the return value of them is an integer that has increased by one. What is its maximum value? Or it will be a loop in a scope? Thx for your answer!

    Bill,

A return of tpacall(), tpcall() or tpgetrply() of-1 indicates failure. Any other return value indicates success.

Unless the TPNOREPLY indicator is used, the value returned by tpacall() is a handle that can then be passed to tpgetrply(). (The alternative is to call tpgetrply() with the TPGETANY flag, in which case the handle returned by tpacall() will be necessary.) When using the indicator TPNOREPLY tpacall(), tpacall() returns 0 success. In both cases, the only error return value of tpacall() is - 1.

The return value on the success of tpgetrply() is not documented (except that it is not - 1), but it seems to be the descriptor of appeal on which a message was received, which is the same information that you can place in * cd.

The return value on the success of tpcall() is not documented (except that it is not - 1), but currently, the value 0 is generally returned on success.

    Kind regards

    Ed
