starting the computer

This start up programs can be removed without harming the computer?

Hello

You really have none of them however some are important to the key however some can be eliminated
with beneficial results.

You can use these to control which startup programs. Many others who settle start-up are not
really need to be there. As Acrobat Reader (Adobe), Agent of WinAmp and many others who
load chunks of themselves to start more quickly (not a problem on the machines of today ' hui) and to make sure that they
can control the files they support (to be sure that you continue to use only). Those who are not common
examples and not meant as a slam on fine programs.

  • I tried several times to set up an email account with Thunderbird, but the next time I start the computer and start Thunderbird, no account is displayed.

I bought a new desktop PC with Win 8.1 and installed Firefox and Thunderbird.
Then, I tried to set up the e-mail account manually (in IMAP) following the instructions here: https://support-en.upc-cablecom.ch/app/answers/detail/a_id/22 , but can't set the mail server outgoing smtp correctly (I could receive mail but not send them). Subsequently, I deleted this account. Then, I started the automatic mail with UPC Cablecom under the http://www.upc-cablecom.ch/content/dam/www-upc-cablecom-ch/Support/executables/upc-cablecom-email-assistant.exe link tool and he did successfully set up the account, however, because a POP3 server account. As I was not happy with it, I deleted the server of incoming POP3 mail (and lost the e-mails received, of course...) and retried a manual installation. In doing so, I got an e-mail account IMAP incoming more two outgoing SMTP server (comparing them, I also understand the configuration error that I had done the first time). I then deleted the manual as SMTP server the automatically the installation server worked correctly.
In this context, accepting them and sending E-mail worked OK. However, the next time I started the computer, the e-mail account disappeared and Thunderbird was asked to set up a new account again. • How can I get rid of a 'sidebar' (an additional site without on the left of the screen) that is still there after restarting Firefox and even cold, start the computer?

I opened a Web site of the library without specifying "in a new tab. I expected to crush the existing active tab. Instead, he opened in a demi-fenetre on the left, without tab and without all the icons "Min/Max/Close. I can not close it even by restarting Firefox or stop and start the computer. He now appears on each screen in Firefox with each tab. I note the address of the site to be replaced, but the offending site is https://servicing.capitalone.com/c1/login.aspx.

There is an 'X' in the top right of the sidebar.
You can replace it with a different sidebar; Therefore, you can use "Ctrl + B" to bring up the sidebar bookmarks, use "Ctrl + B" once more to turn it took off.

Click on the star to bookmark to bring up the bookmark, in the lower left corner, if you see the following, uncheck the box.

[X] load this bookmark in the sidebar.

You can right click a bookmark to display the bookmark properties, uncheck the "load this bookmark in the sidebar".

    In the sidebar

    1. Right-click to bring up the Page Info
    2. Triple - click the url
    3. use "Ctrl + B" to bring up the Bookmarks Sidebar
    4. Paste the url in search, then right click on the found object to bring up the bookmark properties

In the list of Favorites library there is unfortunately no column in the list of library of favorites for this feature, but you can click on the bookmark and properties will be displayed on the box under the same information, if you see a drop-down list "gone" click to view the list of properties.

If you want to see the extent that you have these bookmarks you export our bookmarks in bookmarks.html file and then view the source and use of find for WEB_PANEL = "true" - I have the extension 'Search all', so I can see how many times the string occurs and where.

It has a turbulent history, it is useful as a reference column, but it was destroyed in Firefox 3, after use in a link, use, restoration of use later but not keyworded bookmarks and not places links both where it makes sense to break. Remained at does not not for keywords because they wanted to destroy the mot-cle--Word key lost for a year in the beta version of Firefox 3. Now, it must be eliminated because few people (can) use it (properly), but they will make this inaccessible box first - someone ' else see the additional error with that.

I also have a computer down the update.  Although I tried several times to start the computer from the installation CD re, when I get to the page where I have options to fix or exit, locks from my computer to the top and will go no further.  Suggestions how to get the computer to boot the CD and allow me to choose the repair option without locking up?  Thank you!

I finally managed to get the reinstallation CD to load.  I also spoke with telephone tech support at Microsoft who helped me to descend KB977165 my system.  After that was removed the computer booted without error.  By MS tech, I am also running the anti-virals and malicious programs to see if they detect all the other infections.

Originally, the CD would load to the point of being able to choose between the options: continue to fix or exit.  At this point, the computer froze upwards and would not all repairs in order to remove KB977165.  Microsoft launches a call again tomorrow in order to install safety free bug so far.

If you have no XP bootable media (or aren't sure you have) create a bootable XP Recovery CD of Console and do not forget.

This is not the same as recovery disks that may have come to a store to purchase the system.

You can make a bootable Recovery Console CD by downloading an ISO file and burn it to a CD.

The ISO bootable image file you need to download is called:

    xp_rec_con. ISO

    Download the ISO from here:

    http://www.mediafire.com/?ueyyzfymmig

Use a new CD and this simple and free program to burn your ISO file and create your bootable CD:

    http://www.ImgBurn.com/

Here are some instructions for ImgBurn:

    http://Forum.ImgBurn.com/index.php?showtopic=61

It would be a good idea to test your bootable CD on a computer running.

You may need to adjust the computer BIOS settings to use the CD-ROM drive as the first device to boot instead of the hard drive.  These adjustments are made before Windows tries to load.  If you miss it, you will need to restart the system again.

When you start on the CD, follow the instructions:

Press any key to boot from CD...

    Installing Windows... going to pronounce.

Press 'R' to enter the Recovery Console.

Select the installation that you want to access (usually 1: C:\WINDOWS)

You may be asked to enter the password (usually empty).

You should be in the folder C:\WINDOWS.  It's the same as the

C:\Windows folder that you see in Solution Explorer.

The Recovery Console allows base as file commands: copy, rename, replace, delete, chkdsk, fixboot, fixmbr, cd, etc.

For a list of the commands in the Recovery Console, type help at the prompt of commands or read on here XP Recovery Console:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/recovery_console_cmds.mspx?mfr=true

A good idea before you start things must first verify the integrity of your file system by using the chkdsk command.

In the command prompt window, run the chkdsk command on the drive where Windows is installed to try to fix any problems on the afflicted player.

Running chkdsk is fine, even if he finds no problem.  It won't hurt anything to run it.

Assuming your boot drive is C, run the following command:

    CHKDSK C: /r

Let chkdsk finish to correct the problems, he could find.

It may take a long time for chkdsk complete or they seem to be "stuck".  Be patient.  If the HARD drive led blinks always, chkdsk is something.  Keep an eye on the amount of the percentage to be sure that it is still making progress.  It may even seem to go back sometime.

You must run chkdsk/r again until it finds no error to correct.

Remove the CD, and then type "exit" to exit the RC and restart the computer.

You have not to set the BIOS to boot the disk HARD since the CD won't be.
