startup: password protected

Hello, I recently got a new computer with Windows 8, and I've started using it I got the prompt repeated to register with Microsoft. I finally did, in part to get them to stop harassing me, partly because I thought that there could be some use in it somewhere that escapes me at the moment and in any case, I thought, recording with them will not cause me any damage.

My problem is that since I signed up with them, I now have to enter my password every time I start my computer.

I don't want that. I didn't ask for it, and what's worse, I seem not to be able to get rid of it. The only thing that I managed to reach is that I don't have to re-enter the password after 'sleep' and the only option going into my Microsoft account is to change the password... Get rid of the need to implement the start doesn't seem to be an option.  The problem is not helped by the fact that enter my Microsoft account there is no option to communicate with them.

Thanks for the suggestions.

  • Some sort of password protect the folder "Startup"? Without administrator.

I wonder if I can password protect or even lock the start-up folder for a specific user? I don't have administrator privileges, so I'm not able to use any kind of folder lock program. I need to make sure that the programs that I put in the folder loading whenever my PC starts, without them being able to be moved out of the folder. If anyone has any ideas, I would be very happy!

    Thank you

Without being admin, I don't think you can do a lot. There is always the possibility to elevate yourself, which isn't too difficult, but giving instructions to bypass passwords and crack administrator accounts is against the rules of this forum. I'm sorry. Why not, contact your system administrator and set the autostart files? Or is that you won't know everything?

  • Disable or password protect safemode

I would like to password protect the safe mode.  Family members bypass the filters operating under safe mode.  How can I do this?

I'm not aware of a built-in method to avoid a restart in Mode safe, but you can probably achieve your goal with a little effort, as follows:

    1. Create a Restore Point so that you can retrieve in case you get too locked.
    2. Burn a CD to repair unless you already have a.
    3. Identify a service which does not run in Mode without failure. I think that the Task Scheduler service is one of them.
    4. Place the below batch file in the following folder:
      C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
Any name will do, for example, Startup.bat
You need administrative privileges for this.
The batch file stops the PC when opening of Safe Mode unless you log on under your own account.
    5. Log in Mode safe under one account other than your own to test the script.
    6. Make sure that none of your users have accounts with administrator privileges.
    7. Keep the passwords for all the secret of admin accounts.

    off @echo
    net start | Find /i "Task Scheduler" 1 > 2 draw > draw & goto: eof
    If/i "%nom user %" == "Administrator" goto: eof
    If/i "%nom user %" == "XXX" goto: eof
    stop/f/p

Replace XXX with the name of your own account.

Also note that you can start a trench warfare. Whatever you do for Windows, you can't prevent a person with the skills appropriate to cancel it if he or she has physical access to your machine. Instead of developing physical or software barriers, you can discuss with your family on a personal level. Play games of cat and mouse will not help everyone.

Post again if you need more detailed instructions.

  • Password protect an external hard drive connected to Time Capsule

I have a WD passport external hard drive connected to my time capsule, so my wife and I can easily share files. I have the external hard drive connected through the locked time capsules WiFi network so someone in the House can not access however if they walked the time capsule and not plugged in the external hard drive they could walk away with it. When I try to password protect external hard drive then time capsule may not recognise, and so I can't use it as an external hard drive that is shared. No one knows how, to password protect the external hard drive connected to the time capsule as if someone physically stole the external hard drive it would be locked, but have yet still recognizable by Time Capsule when I plugged?

    Hope that makes sense.

The only way to do is to encrypt the files on the computer.

And you both use the same password. Unfortunately, this probably means that you can not share files directly... The TC is not a SIN... never, it was designed for this purpose so there no controls to help admin file sharing.

If you create a DMG file on WD drive that encrypt you and you can copy files to and from... but only one at a time.

Another method would be to use a specific software... Watch chronosync.

    http://www.econtechnologies.com/Chronosync/guide-sync-with-disk-image.html

I don't him have not run in this configuration... so, you have to experiment if it manages what you want.

I think that there will always be limitations on concurrent access from multiple computers.

  • Satellite 4000CDS startup password

    Hello
I have an old Toshiba Satellite 4000CDS that is similair to the version of CDT, I think that apart from the LCD screen.
But a startup password, when I turn on there, i get the screen "in touch with tomorrow Toshiba", just after a black screen with: password =: _.
Well, I had this problem once with a Toshiba Satellite Pro 440CDT, so I did exactly the same to remove it.
I have taken apart and removed the two batteries of RTC. I also took the main battery, and I left it for a day or 2.
But now when I put the laptop back together (without the batteries of the RTC and the main battery), he always asks me a password.

Is there anyway to fix this? I like to work with old Toshiba laptops.

    Thanks in advance,

and sorry for my badEnglish ;)

    Kind regards

    Hello

The Toshiba notebook's BIOS password is NOT removed if you remove the battery from the RTC.
This works for desktop PC's but not for laptops.

Only the Toshiba ASP can remove BIOS password.
You have to get in touch with the guys to delete!

    Good luck
