State of the database...

I had a strange question(for me)... when I use oracle as a user my data base search "on", at the same time with my user name, it looks like the "standby". I checked IDs at the level of the BONE and it showed me that I am part of the dba group. Can someone explain to me please on this issue... The datails below...

Thanks in advance.

Hello

It simply means that you have not set correctly ORACLE_SID/ORACLE_HOME before using the sqlplus command.

Set ORACLE_SID correctly and then connect to the database.

  • SQL statement causes the database to hang

    Guys,

    Please check.

    SELECT field1 FROM table1 WHERE Field1 LIKE ' %% ' AND field2 = '123456' ORDER BY Field2 ASC

    Tell me, what is the problem with statement above. The LIKE operator is?

    Thanks for the help!

    Are not specifically related to your question, but having a clause such as ' where Field2 ='123456 "and then you place your order on Field2 is not really going to do much for you, all values will be identical!

  • Backup and restore of the different States of a database

    Hello

    In a development and test system, we want to save and restore the different States of the entire database.

    This means, we start with a full (TAG 1) backup of the database.
    On a day team has done in the database, after that we take a full backup (TAG 2).
    The next day, do us a restoration of the TAG 1 and the B team some works, after that, we take a full backup (tag 3).
    Then, we want to continue: restore from TAG 2, TAG 4 backup, restore TAG 3,...

    I tried follwing RMAN procedures:

    Backup (backup consistent cold)
    RMAN nocatalog target.

    SHUTDOWN IMMEDIATE;
    FORCE START S/N;
    SHUTDOWN IMMEDIATE;
    BOOTABLE MEDIA;
    backup as BACKUPSET COMPRESS database ' TEST1' tag include current controlfile;
    ALTER database open;

    Restore (database in time recovery DBPITR point)
    # get RCS with tag backup rman list «...» »
    # add - one for the RCS, use it in the script for NNNN

    RMAN nocatalog target.
    stop immediately;
    bootable media;
    restore the database to the SNA NNNN;
    recover the database unitl Yvert NNNN;
    ALTER database open resetlogs;

    Problem is: when we try to go back to an older version, we get a
    RMAN-20208: until this CHANGE THAT either before RESETLOGS change

    No idea how to switch between the different States of the database?

    Environment: Oracle 11g Enterprise Edition, ASM, Flash Recovery Area, no turning back.

  • RMAN restore in the State of the mount in Oracle 11 g DB

    I have a question which can be very naïve, it is to confirm if the RMAN restore happens in the mount status of data or can it also happen when the DB is in open State?

    I hope my question is clear what is the eligible state of the database in which the RMAN restore can happen.

    Please get back with the answer to my query.

  • The amendments are not expected to be replaced by "restore database; recover the database; » ?

    Hello

    I just have to experience.

    I create a test table and some inserted rows. The I took a full backup of the database more archivelog. Then I insert more than a few lines in the test table. Then the database to stop and he started in the State of EDITING.

    Then RMAN, I made the following two commands after connection to this database as target database:

    RMAN > restore database;

    RMAN > restore database;

    After the success of the recovery operation, I opened the database. Then, I questioned the test table. I expected to see only the rows that have been inserted before the last full backup, but I can see all rows that were inserted into the table of this test. I am little confused - I thought that "restore and recover" a full backup will overwrite the existing State of the database. I expect that the State of data (database) will be exactly the same as it was at the full backup.

    Now I think I got a bad concept, but could someone please clarify this?

    Best regards

    Since you did not specify a point in time recovery Oracle used the rman backup files including archivelogs and redo to roll forward to the top in its last consistent state.

    Do not know what you were doing to the database before you did the recovery, but if you were to try again but to delete all data files, file archivelog and repeat then try recover again you would only see then the first set of rows.

    It is misleading to the column sequence, sequence of real number is 65 series, but it's beyond. Have you restored any old backup with the incarnation?
    When you perform incremental backups, is the current_scn in the two primaries and Eve was balanced?

    And the sequence number * 29 * is transferred from the primary to the standby (or) he has been removed from the primary?
    Perform the two methods.

    (1) SQL > alter system set log_archive_dest_state_2 = 'reporter ';
    (2) conduct 3-4 log switches
    (3) SQL > alter system set log_archive_dest_state_2 = 'enable '.

    and displays the alert log database and backup files.
    And you mentioned the hostname in the entries of the listener, if this entry is added in/etc/hosts? otherwise you can use the IP address instead of the host name and then reload the listener.

    second method
    (1) copy archives missing from primary sequence of 29
    (2) place manually and then perform a recovery
    or
    (3) retrieve manually

    And update with your conclusions after all these lists.
    Thank you.

  • Recover the database Losted

    I have a new adventure like Oracle Database Administrator (of course as a beginner): I assume that this database has crashed during the backup. Now, I can't launch database, I can't retrieve the database, I can't do anything. EM said "the State of the database is currently unavailable. It is possible Traore, the database is in State of Mount or nomount. Click 'Start' to get the current state and open the database. If the database cannot be opened, click "Perform the valuation" to run a proper recovery operation. "When I try to"Start", according to the information of identification and"work in progress", he returned to the first window. I tried to perform recovery, but the result is same.

    Can someone describe me procedure how to recover the database step by step? I need to recover the data from the tables and if it is possible, the tables.

    I have the database Oracle 10.1.0 on Windows 2003 server.

    Unfortunately the MOS score is General and I do not see this situation described. The newspaper simply indicates this same error.

    Since there is no PDB, why make this mistake?  I don't think it's possible to open the PDB$ SEEDS as upgrade?

    I had already tried cloning my non - PDB in a PDB here (successfully) file, but then I also met problems with datapatch (in PDB not at CDB patch).  I tried with the options and force database and this succeeded with warnings, but I was unable to open the PDB.  I thought, okay, what oracle says that the whole point of multitenant is to be able to update the plugin, it should be possible to patch a CBD empty.  I can't seem to find much on this point, somebody manage this problem?

    What is the best method to establish the original CDB and ensure that it is patched in line with its ORACLE_HOME?

  • The current state of the target is down and it displays red arrow down in OEM 12 c. But in fact the database is running

    Hi all

    my instance of database shows down in OEM 12 c but in fact the database is running and status of the listener is unknown. What steps should I take to make the database appear?

    FYI,.

    The error is:

    The current state of the target is down. (I checked events tab in the incident handler here, it is showing error as "inaccessible agent (reason = unable to connect to the agent to https://sunshine.mad:3872/emd/main / [connection refused]).") host is accessible.

    A week before I made switch to digital, the basics of data, is that this is the reason why it shows this error? do we need to change any configuration after switching to the databases on OEM 12 c. at this point time of the database instance shows down and the listener to the top but suddenly the database and listener went wrong.

    Please help me, give your suggestions in this regard.

    Verify that the agent is in place and suggested downloading like Antonio. For the target of the database, the home page, go to the (Oracle database > Configuration target >) Configuration of the analysis page, check the monitoring parameters are correct and do a test connection. You can check the parameters of surveillance for the target of the listener as well.

  • Copy SQL statement to another database with the same SQL_ID

    Is there a reliable way to copy a sql statement in a database to another preserving the formatting so it ends with the same SQL_ID.

    I want to copy a statement of the shared pool to a test database to develop a plan to import sql database in production.

    In the past, I just did ' select sql_fulltext from v$ sql "in SQL Developer and pasted the result into a spreadsheet SQL Developer and run it.   The statement is now in the pool shared with the correct sql_id.

    This does not work for instruction, I am currently in train.  It ends with a different id of sql.

    I know it's probably a problem of formatting, but the statement is 1000 characters and a manual check will take forever.

    You could put in a SQL Tuning Set and transfer it.

    The problem is solved now.

    new columns added to the database table, after the creation of the entity object. Those changes were not picked up in the entity object.

    I found this difference after object entity with the DB Table comparison.

    And when I added these new columns to EO & VO, I don't get this error more.

  • What update statement is sent to the database?

    In several pages, I use the Apex line (DML) 4.2 automatic treatment processes. If I do an update of a record, which are columns in the update statement? All columns, only the displayed, only the columns changed, also the PK column?

    As far as I can see now all the columns that are displayed are updated, also the PK, which is display only.

    I ask this, because when the PK is updated (not changed is screen only) all tables in my 75 cases, where this PK is used as FK, will get a lock.

    I did some tests and find out that indeed the Apex is updating all the columns used in the elements by Type of Source is the database column. Even if this item is display only, read-only, etc.!

    My solution now, to prevent the locks, is the following:

    Automated line Fetch:

    Primary key column value containing point: Pxx_ID

    ID of the primary key column: (this is the primary key)

    Pxx_ID (display only, hidden or read-only)

    Source: only when the current value in session state is set to zero

    Source type: static assignment<-->

    Source of value or expression:

    Treatment of automatic line (DML)

    Primary key column value containing point: Pxx_ID

    Primary key column: ID

  • How to save the State of the checkbox in the database

    HELLO everyone again ;)
    I want to save the State of the checkbox (checked or unchecked, true or false) in the database.

    For example, if the user, check the box and press the validate, then this value (check = true) should be stored in the database (true), and when the user only view this value in another page jspx, then this value should be displayed: checked (true)

    How can I do? What are the data type in the database object and the entity to do this?

    Thank you.
