Statement and alias in VeriStand System Explorer

I have the following questions about the procedures and the alias configuration in System Explorer of VeriStand:

(a) using methods that States that "you can set up procedures to run only once, more than once, or in response to a particular event like an alarm. While I know how to triger a procedure on an alarm, how to set up several procedures to run only once or continuously at startup? The checkbox 'on start run the procedure"only allows to choose a single procedure.

(b) when you add more than one alias in the Explorer of the system, the name of the alias by default '%s' which basically returns the channel name without path information. Is it possible to return the name of level one pathname instead of channel name (or several) to the top? Thus, for example, if the full channel path is "controller/Simulation models/models/CCH_v1_0_bad/Inports/Islington 220kV Bus EAD/CB668/host_close", I would like to have an alias of "CB668 host_close", or "Islington 220kV Bus EAD CB668 host_close.

(c) I don't seem to be able to map aliases to the controls and indicators on the VeriStand workspace. Alias appear just not at all in the list of the channels of the controls and indicators. Is there something that I am missing?

I think that the help topic refers to the fact that procedures may call other procedures. For example, you may have a boot procedure that just had the following structure:

1: call the A Proc

2: call Proc B

3: dial the Proc C

4: Goto1

In regard to alias names, which is a good suggestion to be able to use more of the path the name comes from. To work around the problem, you could look at using the import function to create aliases, which imports a standard delimited by tabs of the file and you can create names based on some agreement you choose.

The map control on controls of the workspace has two methods of selecting a channel. If you have aliases configured, you can use the drop-down list directly to choose an alias. If you don't have aliases or want to browse a channel without alias, you can hit the button browse, where you see the system tree.

Not all e/s (digital, analog meters), of the Board of Directors must be defined in the solution Veristand System Explorer, or only those that I want to use?  For example, can I leave # DI = 0 and #DO = 0 if I only intend to use the differential inputs/outputs?

Y at - it a tool that could transfer material MAX for System Explorer settings, because I have the feeling that I have to redo, which is already MAX... Or am I missing something?

    THX.

    See you soon.

You don't need to define all the resources on your Board in the system definition.  It is recommended in VeriStand to fill the system definition with the resources you need.  The motivation is to load the system as little as possible.  Currently, there is no integration with MAX, but it is as well a System Configuraiton API and a Defintion of VeriStand API systems so you can build this feature if you want.

  • "My external hard drive does not appear in Windows Explorer and cannot open 'Help and Support', an error message" Windows cannot open help and Support because a system service is not ongoing.

    Original title:

Everything was fine until yesterday. Juice now, when I plugged the external HD into the USB port it does not appear in the 'my computer' window. It is recognized by the computer as it is present on the list of the "Disk Clean Up" and it also appears when I click on ' Safe Remove Hardware ' on the taskbar. But if she does not appear in the 'my computer' window I can't work with it or don't even know what it I have arquived in it.

Trying to find a solution, I realized that same 'information system' to 'System tools' is also not available. Pops up a window saying that "Windows cannot open help and Support because a system service is not ongoing enforcement. " To resolve this problem, start the service named help and Support '. OK, I tried to open 'Help and Support' ' Start Menu ' and the same window appeared again to "not have a system service that runs". There is nothing without the appearance of HD in the window of thw work? Everything else works fine and the calculation is virus-free. What should I do?

    Hello

You did changes to the computer, before the show?

    Solution A:

For the problem with the external drive not appearing is not in Windows Explorer, see the following methods.

    Method 1:

    Check out the following link.

A computer that is running Windows XP cannot detect a USB, an Apple iPod flash drive or an external hard disk drive

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/925196

Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

322756 how to back up and restore the registry in Windows

    Method 2:

Connect the external hard drive on another USB port and check.

    Solution B:

For the problem with the help and Support, check if the service is enabled.

    a. click Start, click run. In the Open box, type services.msc and press ENTER.

    b. right-click on the service called Help and Support , and then select Properties.

    c. under the general tab, set the type Startup to Automatic and click Start.

    d. close the services window and check for the issue.

  • Change of LabVIEW VeriStand system definition

    Hi all

I have a project where I need to be able to change the drawn in LabVIEW VeriStand system definition.  The project will use a LabVIEW user interface and I would like to be able to programmatically change of LabVIEW VeriStand system maps (unloading and loading mapping .txt files via LabVIEW System).

It seems that the SystemDefinitionAPI contains the methods I need, but I can't figure out how to get a reference for VeriStand.SystemDefinitionAPI

If there is an easier or simpler way to do this, please let me know.  Thanks for your help,

    Phil

A bit more info that may be useful...

The examples referenced by Jarrod contain a constructor .NET to create a file system definition by giving a name, description, creator, version, etc...  If you double-click on the node in the constructor it will bring up a dialog box that shows all the manufacturers of the SystemDefintion object.  You should see another manufacturer that only requires a string entry "nivssdfFile".  Use this constructor and provide a path to your nivssdf file to open your SysDef existing (instead of creating a new).

Remember, you should always call the SaveSystemDefinitionFile method when you finish your changes to commit everything on the disc (such as demonstrated in the example).

  • Type of change VeriStand system channel

    Hello

I've developed a VeriStand project and I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on how I can change the types of channels in the system of double uint32, or uint64. I see that there is a .net NationalInstruments.VeriStand.Data object that has the classes I want, but I'm not very familiar with the .net api or how to create definitions for VeriStand system in LabView.

I thought I could create a project, import my models and then use the .net API to get the system of channels and change their type. The problem is that using the GetSystemChannels does not give a method to allow this.

I got the VI somewhere on NEITHER, but I can't remember where.

    Thanks in advance,

    Brent

Why do you need the channels of the system as the variants?  When you use?

You cannot change the type of the system channels in VeriStand.  VeriStand is double.  Period.  No exception.

However, in LabVIEW, you can easily convert a doulbe U32 or I32, almost any other type of data or elsewhere.  Just use the screw of the digital palette converstion.

    Restart

    Hello

Welcome to Microsoft Windows Vista Forums.

I suggest you follow these steps:

Method 1: See if you can view another Web page

To do this, follow these steps:

    Start Internet Explorer.

In the top of the browser address bar, enter one of the following addresses:

    http://www.Microsoft.com

    http://www.MSN.com

    http://support.Microsoft.com

If you do not receive a similar error message after entering one of these addresses in the address bar, contact the owner of the Web site where you see the problem. The website is maybe temporarily unavailable or other problems.

If you receive the same error message, go to the next method.

Method 2: Run the Network Diagnostics tool in Internet Explorer

To do this, follow these steps:

Start Internet Explorer, and then try to access the Web page that displays the error message.

On the page that displays an Internet Explorer error message, click diagnose connection problems . The Network Diagnostics tool will run. When the tool has finished, it will notify if you one of the following results:

He was unable to find a problem.

It has detected a problem. In addition, the tool will provide guidance on the next steps to take to resolve the problem.

Note Users of Internet Explorer 6, click on detect network settings

Click IP address , and note the IP address. You may have to it for future troubleshooting.

Follow the steps in the Network Diagnostics tool to fix any connection problems.

    Start Internet Explorer.

If you receive the same error message, go to the next method.

Method 3: Use the delete browsing history

If resetting the modem or the router has not resolved the problem, delete your browsing history might help. Follow these steps to delete your temporary Internet files, history and form data:

    Internet Explore 7

    Start Internet Explorer.

On the Tools menu, click delete browsing history .

Select the check box next to Temporary Internet files .

Select the check box next to the history .

Select the check box next to form data .

Select the check box next to Cookies .

At the bottom of the window, click delete .

Close Internet Explorer and restart Internet Explorer, and then try to access the Web page.

    Internet Explorer 6

    Start Internet Explorer.

On the Tools menu, click Internet Options .

In the Temporary Internet files section, click delete files and then click to select the text box delete all offline content , and then click OK .

In the history section, click clear history , and then click Yes .

Close Internet Explorer and restart Internet Explorer, and then try to access the Web page.

If you receive the same error message, go to the next method.

Method 4: Use the Internet Explorer (No Add-ons) mode

To do this, click Start , point to programs , point to Accessories , point to System Tools and then click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons) .

Note The Internet Explorer (No Add-ons) mode is only available for Internet Explorer 7 and Internet Explorer 8.

If this resolves the problem, follow these steps to isolate the browser add-on that is causing the problem:

Click Tools and then click Internet Options .

Click on the programs tab, and then click Manage Add-ons .

Click an add-on in the name list, and then click disable .

Repeat step 3 until you identify the add-on that is causing the problem.

If the methods in the "Resolution" section General did not resolve your issue, you can try to use the methods in the "Advanced Troubleshooting" section If you are not comfortable with advanced troubleshooting, you can ask for help or contact support. • Windows 7 hard drive stolen when idle and during programs execution system

I can hear my hard drive C beating away when my system is idle, and even though my system is running programs.

Think it might be Firefox that uses the hard drive much - checked, uses the hd a little, but not more than usual, but I can still hear the hard drive clicking suite. So I close Firefox. Still ongoing.

Tried to switch browsers Chrome, and even has a lot more use of the disk by cycle Firefox did. But no matter whether Chrome is open or not, I can still hear the beating of hard drive.

Tried to use IE as my main browser, still no luck.

I checked on the Windows Task Manager, but no 1 process shows a lot of the use of the disc. I tried then to resource monitor and 'System' appears at the top of the list of processes sorted by use of the disk. But there are a lot of sub-thingos (forgive my ignorance of jargon) ongoing enforcement under 'System', while originally the beating of disc?

I disabled the process that has been suggested on the forums, without any change in the use of Windows Media network share drive.

Then I saw a thread in which someone talked about disabling Marvell / RAID drivers remains other manufacturers (where the system has no installed RAID array) slow down its use of the disk.

I have no RAID array on my PC either and noticed a Marvell driver under the heading 'System' using SysInternals Process Explorer.

I also noticed that some other drivers stray, maybe one of them is originally the use of disk problem?

It is terribly random - will start and continue for 30 to 40 minutes and then stop for hours, then start again.

I don't think it's a virus, as I have Avast! and can use the shield of file to control what files Avast! analysis - strangely, although I hear the hard drive in use, Avast! does not pick up/scan all files that the disc is supposed to be using.

Here are the various screenshots that I downloaded in the hope that someone can help me solve this problem of disk hard until it wears out and dies a lonely premature death: P - thanks

I downloaded SysInternals Process Monitor of

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/Sysinternals/bb896645.aspx

But the program is much more complex than Process Explorer and I have no idea how to use it.

Can someone tell me please how to run a trace through the events that may help determine which of the processes analyzed in running process monitor is / are the ones that are causing high disk usage?

    An analysis more

Restarted in safe mode (without network) and entered the resource (part of Windows 7) monitor and SysInternals Process Explorer (in Microsoft TechNet) to see if I could pinpoint the problem.

All the time, I was in safe mode, the hard drive kept in fly! : O

I started first of all resource monitor and saw that the 'system' with the PID of 4 remained the more intensive process of disk. Using the disc went from 100 KB/s to 1 MB/s as before when you are connected to Windows 7 normally.

    I also saw

    svschost (netsvcs),

    Svchost (secsvcs)

    Svchost (dcomlaunch)

    and like other processes

    wmiadap.exe

wmiprvsv.exe appear. 2 wmi processes disappeared after a short while leaving svchost and remaining 'System '.

I closed the resource monitor shot to the top of Process Explorer and found some weird-looking process:

Under wmiprvsv.exe, there was a file called locale.nls, with no manufacturer name/description (unlike some other services/sys files having a "Microsoft Corporation" as their name)

Under each of the svchost.exe process, out of all the files that have name descriptors (Microsoft Corporation), there was a little without name descriptors that caught my attention:

A file that found in Windows/Globalization/Sorting/Sortdefault.nls

A file called locale.nls (sorry don't remember the location of the file)

A file that found in Windows/Registration/R00000000000.clb

A file that found in Windows/System32/C_28591.nls

All the files above with the exception of the R000000.clb one found in svchost, lsass and csrss.

The R00000.clb file was found only in svchost.

I noticed these files because they had no name description next to them - could all of the files I mentioned contribute to the problem of the use of disc?

Hard drive stolen continues even after I Logout

I have my own PC and use an administrator account (not the default "Administrator" account, but my own account with administrator privileges).

I tried logging my regular account and another account limited, I have on the PC. Not only the disk thrashing hardcontinue while I was connected and on the screen of welcome, but he continued even after I had connected to the limited account.

    Weird Hey?

    Daniel,

The problem is that you are using the ODBC Postgres driver for the HS_FDS_SHAREABLE_NAME parameter, but this must be an ODBC driver manager and not the driver ODBC Psotgres.
    Go to the.

    http://www.unixODBC.org/

Click the 'Download' and follow the instructions to download the 2.3.1 pilot and make libraries and programs.

Once this is done, then use the driver as parameter HS_FDS_SHAREABLE_NAME Manager, for example-

    HS_FDS_SHAREABLE_NAME =/home/odbc64/unixODBC/2.3.1/lib/libodbc.so

Depending on where you install it.

    Kind regards

    Mike

  • Corrupt VM - vmdk merged and flat.vmdk, operating system not found

I got a suspended virtual machine. I tried to reset it, he failed in this weird State and after 10 minutes it allowed me to turn on. The metadata files were missing when I scoured the data store. I saw a file flat.vmdk.

So, I created the vmdk file by using the http://www.phdvirtual.com/wrapgenstub creator. Once I copied the hard file I created in the flat.vmdk folder, I could see the file merged into the store data as a virtual disk, earlier, it was just a file. My next step was I created a virtual machine with a similar name and serves the existing vmdk file disk that I merged just for her.

I checked the size to match the original size of the disk. I get "not found operating system". I could make the progress of this community messages so far, so thank you VMware for this set up and if someone can help me here, that would be great.

Called Costco to get assistance from the technology with a desktop computer HP Envy. The tech asked me to do a system of hard drive recovery, even if I got recovery discs...

The computer screen showed 100% software installation of recovery in less than two hours and the machine came into fashion "deactivate the tower."

Problem: 'Disable lap' mode is still ongoing, and now it has been a full 6 hours and then some.

Question #1: Can the office be manually stop to stop the process without end 'disable on tour' without harming the computer?

Question #2: Guidance concerning such a judgment and then redo the system recovery once more, but this time with the recovery discs?

Theoretically, the hard drive by using Recovery Manager F11 recovery should produce the same results as the set of recovery disks.  The set of recovery disks will probably replace all and then give the factory settings.  The result should be the same, however, I don't see no harm to do so.  What did you do to try to get out if "turn on, turn off"?

On the thing to try before using the drive set - unplug the PC from the wall.  Press the power button, that would be turning on the PC if connected.  Hold button power in 30 seconds to a minute.  And then reconnect the power cord to back in and try to feed normally upward.
