Statement of malware in MS downloads

Where and how can I report malicious software, come with Microsoft updates and other downloads?  Recently got Malwarebytes anti-malware the Cnets and he found attached to the files Microsoft registry problems: microsoft\windows\current_versiob\ext\stats\ {bunch of symbols};  ms\affri (malware.trace);  ms\contim (Trojan.vundo); ms\rdfa (vundo trogan.).   I assumed Microsoft dloads were safe.  I was wrong or right off-road in my newbie ignorance? I removed these-a I had reason for that?

Malicious software, which you can download is certainly NOT from Microsoft.  What you posted is partial information associated with a registry entry, not the file information.

Thanks to those of you who have offered to help to solve my dilemma. Since my icon "Downloads" finally just disappeared, I ended up choosing the icon "Open Menu" on the far right of the address bar and then selected the menu item 'customize' at bottom left of the drop-down list of the info. I moved the icon "Downloads" from the available icons in the menu 'Customize' drop down icons available to the area to the right of the address bar between the 'Home' icon and the icon 'send '. Then I went downstairs to load a file & the "Downloads" icon in the icon changed "% ramp full." So, I'm good to go for now... Although I'm still a bit baffled by the strange behavior presented initially by arrow icon "Downloads" remains static during a download rather than change in the '% complete ramp' icon, as it does now...

    Anne

Hello anne, you already have the latest version of firefox installed - these popups are probably a tactic of scam trying to trick you by installing more malware, to not download or run this kind of stuff! just download firefox from its official site at mozilla.org - more updates are managed automatically by firefox if you do not have to download or run .exe files (you can run a check of updates of firefox > help > about firefox).

If you get unwanted opening pages it is also a sign of already active on your computer of malware. Please do the following

    1. Reset firefox (this will keep your bookmarks and passwords)
    2. then go to firefox > addons > extensions and where there are still extensions listed there, disable them.
    3. Finally, run a full scan of your system with security tools like the free version of malwarebytes and adwcleaner to ensure that adware is not present in other parts of your system as well.

  • How can I uninstall the partial download of Yosemite?

    Hello

I've got El Capitan 10.11.4 on a MacBook in mid-2009. But I also have a partial transfer of Yosemite (145KO) for some time I want to uninstall. However, when I try to send to the trash, I get the message that "some elements are in use" - I guess there's an affair with El Capitan. Can anyone tell if I should be OK to go ahead and get rid of Yosemite? I ask because I'm trying to free up space as El Cap has my very slow Mac and it beach balls all the time. I have 4 GB of memory.

Just try to restart your mac and see if you can trash this file after that. There is no "crossover." This partial download file is useless, simply, it was left in an invalid state if necessary as the download failed or was cancelled.

  • Download the file with progress data?

    Hello

I'm looking for a way to download files from a known location, but in a way to have a download progress bar. Is this possible?

I started watching DataSocket and http GET vi and I managed to download files from the Public folder on my Dropbox (which has a link), but these VI put my app in a hanging state until they complete the download and I don't know how long should take to the end, especially if I start downloading something bigger.

Is it a VI everywhere that provides progress periodically data? (Possibly speed would be though, but I think, should be calculated growth data and elapsed time.) I plan to have a status update vi for an app of mine (I hate using the USB and copy to the extent of the PC after every update). I wouldn't really care for progress data, if the files would be<1MB, however="" i="" have="" some="" bigger="" files="" which="" should="" take="" longer="" to="" download="" and="" a="" feel="" of="" the="" progress="" would="" make="" it="">

    Thank you

Don't worry about http, it's a different protocol with a basic goal that doesn't have much to do with the file transfer. FTP is all about file transfers, it's what he does and that's all it does.

Brian's suggestion is excellent. Take a look at the existing screw and if they do what it takes, fine. If this isn't the case, you can use them as a starting point to create screws that provide feedback you need. But do not forget the initial step of:

«.. opening to the top of the screw of NOR and save a new copy with a new name... »

  • After download of mandated Micosost 20/06/12 for the Xbox360, my animated avatar is not working proberly.

Before the update 20/06/12 of my avatar when clicked on in friends would show a backdrop of Gears of War, a throw of gold and an open Pod person. All respond immediately when my avatar in the friends section has been highlighted. Now, after this download, my avatar when you click on a background of GOW3, it is y no bag opened nobody in the context more and my avatar does not display the golden throw regularly may from time to time, but not with the previous action moves or frequency as before. I would like to get that in her previous working state before downloading.

Everything worked fine before downloading. Wednesday, 6-20, 2012, I turned on my Xbox 360 and immediately there was this statement that "Micrsoft has a download for this system and you are not registered live if the download is refused" so I proceeded to update and that's when I noticed the difference in the avatar animation which I paid previously with Microsoft points. I would appreciate any help with this problem. Thanks in advance!

It is always sensible in this situation to achieve a malware check

Download and install Malwarebytes (free version for individuals only), updated definitions and run in safe mode. Disable other security software while you do the analyses.

    http://www.Malwarebytes.org/

Download and run SuperAntiSpyware (Free Edition)

Your problem might be an orphan entry caused by the incomplete elimination of malware.

To identify what loads when you start using Autoruns (freeware from Microsoft).

    http://www.Microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/ProcessesAndThreads/Autoruns.mspx

With Autoruns, you can deselect an item which disables startup, or you can click with the right button on an item, then remove it. If you clear the check box that you can check back for re - activate the element. It is an approach much safer than editing the registry and better than using msconfig.

Another useful feature of the program is that you can click with the right button on an item and select search online to get information about the selected item.

  • Everyone knows feat: JS / Blacole.FZ? What is a Virus or a Malware?

    Hello

I did a full ASNA on my MSE.

He discovered the above and also serious and gave me the opportunity to remove what I did.

That would be enough and no matter who else heard of this?

I also ran Malwarebytes Anti-Malware analysis at the request of [free] and were reported as clean.

    Concerning

    Hi snowshine,

To answer your question: ' "is it a Virus or Malware?".

It really isn't, but a feat. Detection for this was created recently.

"JS/Blacole is a detection of a component of the Blackhole feat kit - one kit used by the attackers to distribute malware. The attackers install the kit on a server, and then when you visit the server compromised, kit tries to exploit various, multiple vulnerabilities on your computer in order to install malicious software. For example, if you locate a site compromise containing the exploit pack using a vulnerable computer, malware could be downloaded and then installed on your computer.

Generally, the Blackhole exploit kit attempts to exploit vulnerabilities in applications such as Oracle Java, Sun Java, Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader.

For more information on this kit of the exploit and the steps you can take to avoid being compromised, please see the detailed description of the Blacole elsewhere in our encyclopedia... »

    From there:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/portal/threat/encyclopedia/entry.aspx?name=js/Blacole
    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/portal/threat/encyclopedia/entry.aspx?name=exploit%3AJS%2FBlacole.FZ

It's in your Temporary Internet files, then removing it via MSSE or deleting your files TIF would have sufficed - until what you return to the Web page in question. If the malicious software has been downloaded and installed, MBAM probably would have found or MSSE could warn you of the additional problems.

  • Driver Whiz has accidentally been downloaded on my PC.

A few days back, Driver Whiz has been accidentally installed on my PC.  Now it allows me to remove it, even by using the programs and features.  The real program, Driver Whiz, just 'change' when I click on it on the option programs and features.  How can I remove it?

    Hello

You have followed exactly the instructions of removal of the manufacturer of the program.

But often they aren't supposed to work to remove their programs :)

You can also try this free Revo program to remove it.

    And also scan for Malware.
