• RHEL 5 P2V converter server to support static IP address problem

  Hello!

  I am doing an internship where I set up a VMware ESXi 5.1 environment, and I have to P2V a couple of servers RHEL (5 and 6).

  So now I'm looking for how the VMware vCenter Converter Standalone Client 5.0.1. I've done a few P2V, successfully!

  But it seems that whenever I want to do a P2V, I have to use a different static IP address by using the converter server because otherwise the converter stops at 1% and tries to connect using the converter server.

  What I don't understand, is that I'm only a P2V both, and so the IP addresses I use are reserved and are not of any other machine.

  Does anyone know what is the problem? Because if I have to make a couple more P2V, I'm out of IP addresses I use...

  We were able to identify the problem and it is not in the converter itself, but rather related to the physical infrastructure. The problem is in the ARP cache on the bridge of the target network. After the first conversion, he has cached an ARP entry for the IP address for assistance. When you start the second conversion, the new virtual machine that is created has a new network card with a new MAC address, but the entry door is not aware of this change when Converter Server tries to connect to the help, the gateway sends IP packets to the wrong MAC address and finally they are deleted. When the cache ARP on the bridge which expires - that the problem be resolved automatically (in our environment by default, it is 15 minutes, but it depends on the material specifc and configuration).

  A possible workaround is to generate network traffic coming from within the VM assistance program (e.g. a ping to the IP address of default gateway) which generate an ARP traffic and update the gateway ARP cache. Once you sign in, you can test anything (same IP invalid target does the job) and the conversion should proceed immediately.

• ASA static IP Addressing for IPSec VPN Client

  Hello guys.

  I use a Cisco ASA 5540 with version 8.4.
  I need to assign a static IP address to a VPN client. I saw in the documentation Cisco that this can be done to validate the user against the local ASA and in the user account database, you assign a dedicated IP address, or using the vpn-framed-ip-address CLI command.
  The problem is that the customer never gets this address and it always gets one of the pool in the political group. If I delete this pool, the client can't get any address.
  No idea on how to fix this or how can I give this static IP address to a specific VPN client?

  Please, I have configured a remote VPN on cisco ASA 5520 and everythings seems to work very well... DHCP IP have been renting to users who connect to the VPN. but the question is now that our customers want a static IP address to give to a particular user when it connect via VPN.

  I can't get my new R7800 to accept a static IP address entry.

  I just wanted you to know that I had found, problem was in my series up to the end of the mixing table.

  As for the reason why static IP address works better than DHCP, I don't really know that it's really helping.

  the Ipad would never sign out but would be control of the mixer application.

  The link between the mixer and the Ipad wifi is only for control data, no audio program be postponed on wifi.

  I run a Windows machine that is attached to the router which has a certain subnet address. On this same machine, I run a Virtual Machine on Linux, which has its own address, 192.168.1.102.

  I noticed that whenever I have shut down the computer and then reactivate them later, they gain another address, which makes it annoying for me to communicate with each other (by, for example, try to load a Web page hosted on the physical machine virtual computer) without knowing the real address, which, as I said earlier, seems to change every time.

  I would like to know if there is a way (with my model of router) to configure so that address subnet of these two machines remains the same, regardless of whether or not they have been stopped and restarted.

  Is this possible? If Yes, could you please tell me where to find this option in the control panel?

  Have you set the DNS server? You must configure at least one DNS server. Configure as DNS server 192.168.1.1 on your computer.

  Otherwise, with DHCP enabled, open a command prompt window and type "ipconfig/all". Copy the full output in your next post.

  I'm trying to put in place a couple of TiVo cable already on my home network so I can 'see' on my Mac using the TiVo Express of Toast Titanium function and copy the TiVo on my Mac programs.   TiVo technical support suggested that the problem is that my Mac IP address is 198.162.1.100 (assigned automatically) and for some reason some of my TiVo is on 198.162.0.2 et.0.3.  They suggested that I have manually assign a static IP address for the for put them in 'sync' with my Mac address - that is to say, something in the range 198.152.1.xxx of TiVo.

  I was able to assign a static IP address of 198.162.1.109 to the head of the TiVo (and my Mac is still not see it), but I received an error message when I tried to assign 198.162.1.110 to the other TiVo.   Technical support suggested I check with you on assignment of the IP address via the router.  Can you tell me if this is possible and if so, how?

  I recently bought a new WRTG54G2 to replace an old one that died.  I'm trying to set up as the former, but without access to the configs I don't know exactly how I've done it before.  Here's what I have.

  Cable modem--> (192.168.0.1) dedicated firewall/gateway Machine--> switch--> other equipment (for a Visual, you see this link )

  Other equipment is wired to the PC and the wireless router.   The wireless router needs to assign a static IP address of 192.168.0.50.  It must go through the dedicated firewall/gateway (192.168.0.1).  The DHCP Service will be switched off.

  I know that it is possible, however, for the life of me... I can't understand how I've done it before.  In the web interface, I can assign staticlly wireless router an ip of 192.168.0.50 via the automatic configuration (DHCP).  But, if I go to the static IP address configuration, replace the IP 192.168.0.50, it won't work (that is to say, the only "static ip" is the local IP address under Network Setup/router IP).

  Any suggestions for how I can do this?  It makes me nuts to be able to access only the web interface page.

One of these pc requires a static IP address, because the router can do only reliable port-forwarding for IP static (I would ssh it and use it as a web server). I was told that this router has this ability, but for the life of me I can't find.

  Could someone tell me how to proceed? I am running the latest firmware (v4.30.11).

  DD - WRT is fairly stable and well maintained. There are a lot of people using it and you get excellent support, if you don't mind not very technical responses to opportunities. Generally, the flashing of the firmware does not support the warranty. But that wouldn't be a problem if you have had a bad flash. And even for a bad flash you often have options to recover the router.

  For the static IP address on the computer, change the settings of network to the ethernet interface. I do not know Gentoo you should have administration GUI for this somewhere.

  You can use the following values:

  IP (as mentioned earlier) for instance 192.168.1.10
  subnet mask 255.255.255.0
  address of the gateway 192.168.1.1
  192.168.1.1 DNS server

  As long as the static IP addresses do not conflict with the DHCP server address pool create there will be problems running some static IP computers in the same local network with DHCP clients.

  I would say to restore the printer back to factory settings. HP LaserJet Pro P1566 and P1606dn - default settings factory restore printers.

  Then, the router must assign a new IP address to the printer and you should then be able to again access the server built-in Web printer.

  If the router assigns the printer IP address automatically, temporarily connect the printer to the computer using the Ethernet cable and ad hoc of the printer. This will give you an IP address so you can access the printer built-in Web server, and then you can configure the IP address again through your network.
