  Looks like we have a similar problem, although I have a different tablet model (AT10-A) and I did not install anything whatsoever... still, I'm having the same issue on the micro-USB port: it does not recognize the Chargers and USB connections with my laptop.   In your case, I recommend updating BIOS and update Win XP to the last State. All updates and patches XP must be installed!
