Satellite L30-SL33: unknown device after the device external USB connection

Dear all,

I bought a Satellite L30-PS33 with Vista, but due to driver with my existing peripheral equipment problems, I decide to switch from Vista to XP.
I have an internal problem with usb HUB, even if the installation is OK with design windows XP drivers generic when I plug a USB key, I get the message: Unknow device.

Can you give a link to find good drivers I should use in my computer?
It is very difficult to use a computer without any USB equipment?

Thank you and I hope you have any solution for me.

Best regards.

Chris

There is no USB drivers for all Windows operating systems.
Still is it USB driver are part of the Windows system and you will find not all drivers use 3rd for a USB port.

In your case, I recommend updating BIOS and update Win XP to the last State. All updates and patches XP must be installed!

As many users around the vista of the world seemed very slow for me so I decided to go back to Windows XP Pro.
The problem is that I can't hear any sound in my laptop.
In fact I found some drivers for Realtek controller High definition audio
    but they have nothing did.

I give the floor to toshiba in Greece and they told me that this laptop is designed only for windows vista!
    Can this be true?
    Help, please

    Hello

In my eyes, you have misunderstood something. Of course, that the laptop can handle Windows XP and it should work correctly, but as you say the device was shipped with Vista and so the guys at Toshiba support don't provide any support for WinXP on this laptop.

As far as I know page driver Toshiba also provide drivers for win XP. Therefore, visit European driver of Toshiba page and choose the good laptop-> PSL33 Sat L30-113

You will find a driver 5.10.0.5273 version XP. This should work!

    Have a nice day ;)

  • Satellite L30 - 10Y: error checking after the 2 GB of RAM

    Hello

I have a Satellite L30 - 10Y ^ months ago I walking the RAM 1.5 GB by adding a card of 1 GB of RAM in the 512 MB card provided it worked well.
I also have walking my son Hi-Grade lapto with exactly the same specifications of RAM that worked well also. So I decided to grade until my L30 10Y with another card of the same specification to bring it up to 2 GB as specified by TOSHIBA.

I booted the computer to find Hay presto after the message following the start screen appears * "_the file is possibly corrupted.
The file header checksum does not match the calculated checksum_ "* the computer then froze and I turned it off."

Controls, I did tried two cards into the two slots without change, 1 card in both slots (an empty) works very well. Other card in the two sons of slots (works Fine) the two card slots in my computer (works very well) all three cards and 512 MB card in the configuration of the slots and cards (works fine). The three cards 1 GB in all configerations cards and slots to the error message and other times 1 long beep and 2 short.
Yes, the cards have been installed correctly. Impossible to change something to do with the BIOS, even though it may be accssed. Cannot run dvd player although I can select.

I went back to 1.5 GB and reinstalled all OS the drive recovery Toshiba try all over again the same results. Running windows Vista Edition family Basic, Bios is the last download. RAM is compatible. Cheep Hi-Grade son accepts that all RAM in all Configurations without sentence windows XP operating system.

Can anyone think of anything either, I have not tried, or I just have to go and by a Hi-grade computer?

    Hello

I read your announcement carefully, and it seems that you have checked that everything what is possible
So in my opinion the two ram modules are not compatible set
It's the only plausible explanation for this problem.

    AFAIK the L30 - 10Y needs DDR2 533 MHz (PC2-4200) 200 - PIN SODIMM modules.

Finally the short beeps are coming from the BIOS and it means that the error has been detected.

  • Satellite L30 does not start after the upgrade to 2 GB of memory

I bought 2 GB Crucial memory for my L30. After removing the 512 MB module and adding two modules of 1 GB the L30 wouldn't start. With only 1 GB start ok ok, with the other boot only 1 GB.

Either 1 GB modules and module of 512 MB with start ok. The two modules of 1 GB boot not together. Crucial gave up and offered a full refund, but I'd rather have a solution if possible.

At the BIOS level is 2V30, that I understand to be the latest version available.

    Ideas please, John

    Hello

You're right, this problem seems very strange and I wonder why this happens.
Satellite L30 certainly supports the 2 GB of memory and you should be able to upgrade with 2 x 1024Mo modules!

It's strange, but it seems that these two modules are not compatible together
I found Toshiba recommend module on options and accessories site.
DDR2 400/533 1 GB (PA3411U-1M1G) maybe you could try this one...

In any case, I don't think that you will be able to solve this problem in another way. The modules must be replaced.

  • Satellite L30 does not start after the BIOS update

    Hello

I upgraded my BIOS Satellite L30 and now the laptop will not boot. When I turn on the fan starts and that's it. I think I have updated the book with the bad BIOS... The laptop is only 1 day old... Is it possible to reset the machine to the default BIOS.

    Help, please...

    Hi Scott,.

Unfortunately there is no easy way for you to go to your BIOS to its previous level. You need to entrust your laptop to a Service approved partner who has the necessary equipment to Flash the BIOS to the previous level.

  • Problems with the Ethernet controller and PCI Satellite L30-10 X device driver

    HelloW!

Sorry for my bad English, I'm from the Russia.
A few days ago, I bought Satellite L30 - 10 X with W Vista on board. In my opinion, that this OS does ' t very good on this computer, so I install W XP.

I have some problems with drivers. At first, I don't know which model I have: PSL30 or PSL33? I have download all the drivers for the two models. But after installation, computer doen't find the drivers for the Ethernet controller and PCI device...

    Hello

Satellite L30-10 X belongs to the series of PSL33E. This number located on the label on the bottom of the device!

You must choose this number in the form of driver download for XP compatible drivers.
I put t know why you are not able to install the LAN driver. I have the same laptop with Vista and I've install the XP and all the drivers will work perfectly.

I assume that you have installed the drivers in the wrong order. Please take look in the Toshiba installation instructions txt file. In this order, install the driver! This is important.

I think that you should install XP again to ensure that the registry clean, then download and install the XP drivers compatible as mentioned in the installation instructions file.

    Good luck

  • Re: Satellite Pro A200 - black screen after the BIOS screen

    Hello
I'm new to the forum and have a big problem. So, any help is welcome and appreciated.

My Satellite Pro A200 turns black after the BIOS screen and a black screen with a blinking cursor. Also just as the screen goes black a beep can be heard which shows windows boot.
I can access the toshiba Setup screen but not the installation of security mode.

    Kind regards

    Hello

You wrote that you can access the BIOS, but have you checked if the HARD drive is recognized properly? Perhaps because the computer cannot start HDD isn't recognized then you should check this.

If the HARD drive is recognized, I would try a Toshiba Recovery disk recovery facility. It seems that Windows isn't able to start and if you reinstall the whole system should help get rid me of this. Go to the start menu and select the CD/DVD drive as a boot device.

    Check this box!

  • 802.11 wireless pen drive recognized as 'unknown device' under USB. Help, please.

Specs: Windows XP Home Edition version 2002, Service Pack 2. This is the version of XP OEM. Processor Intel pentium 4 2.00 GHz. 1.50 GB of ram.

After an unknown incident (i suspect headphones usb), my wireless USB key has ceased to be recognized as such and become everything simply an "unknown device" under "USB bus controllers. Although windows tells me there is no drivers for the device installed, the wireless pen drive is signed with the Publisher of Microsoft Windows with a version of driver 5.1.2600.0, Microsoft being the driver provider.

Compound number, the 802.11 device is listed under "Other devices" when 'show hidden devices' is selected and the variable "devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices" entered "environment variables", but is washed out-showing that the system thinks that the device is not currently connected to the computer. In addition, under details, it displays error code 45: the device is not connected to the computer. And it is. It's very hip. as cement and connected tape.

I plugged the wireless key USB in all the usb ports on the computer, every time with her recognized as 'unknown device' under usb controllers. I entered in the safe mode, uninstalled all the usb controllers and root usb hub drivers and let windows the respawn after reboot in order to solve the problem. No dice.

I also plugged the USB in a different desktop and it works like a charm, so the issue is not with the hardware.

Clearly there that a conflict with drivers/registry/God knows what, but I'm at a loss. Somehow, windows has taken its decision and the player associated with "unknown device" and I see no way to make the system "forget" that the USB was never connected. How can I remove the ghost driver "unknown device" manually or force windows to re-associate the key wireless USB with "other devices" (with the yellow? mark) and not this useless usb driver "unknown device"?

    Thanks for the help!

  • Satellite P300 itself keeps restarting after the initial splash screen.

My Satellite P300 itself keeps restarting after the initial splash screen.

Start-up of the first screen with the F2 and F12 options down is displayed, the screen goes black, then a cursor appears in the upper left corner and flashes once or twice. Then the laptop stops and restarts and goes through the same process again and again.

That's all with the power adapter is plugged in. If disconnected, he goes through the above process and close with no reboot.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

  • WIN8 sees no google nexus7 as a storage device external usb

Original title: cannot connect nexus7 win8

W8 is no google nexus7 as a storage device external usb and I'm not able to debug Android applications

    Thank you Jeremy and eddieb,.

I found the solution for my case:

    0. I got this annoyance after update-> w8pro w7pro

    1. I connect nexus7 to my pc
    2. I open Device Manager
    3. find and expand 'Android device"entry in the list
    4. right click on the Android Composite ADB interface"a sub-item
    5. Select "update driver software" from the popup menu
    6. Select 'Browse my computer for driver software ".
    7. Select "Let me pick from a list of devices...."
    8. two options appeared: "ADB Interface" and something like "mass storage device", I select the last one, because I just want to load some files on tablet. Unexpectedly, that solved my problem completely.
  • Satellite L30 - 11 d: update Bios to boot from USB

    I have a Satellite L30 11(d) bought Sept 07.

I'm interested in trying to boot from USB, at the present time, my bios does not.
I am looking to update my bios. There is a updated bios updated for me to download (3.10WIN).

    I have 3 questions:

    (1) 3.10WIN allows to boot from USB?

    (2) is 3.10WIN related to the use of MS Vista? (Looking at this article , it seems that the new phoenix / toshiba bios only allows panoramas...?)

    (3) how to settle?

(with ubuntu 7.10 works well... aside from the sound)

    As to the question;

    (1) No, it is not possible to boot from a memory stick USB HDD or USM

    (2) each BIOS for each series of Toshiba notebook is different! Please don t no matter what other laptop computer BIOS or fixed PCs. Satellite L30 - 10 d belongs to the series of the 3,10 and PSL33E BIOS is OS independent. If your laptop comes with XP then the BIOS supports XP completely. Of course, you can try to install Vista but it is possible that some features of the laptop as FN keys will be does not work

    (3) the BIOS should always be done in the Windows operating system. As you can see on the page of the Toshiba driver the BIOS version is called 3.10Win - version

  • I installed an external USB connected hard drive Seagate, it slowed the computer and check the new disc repeatedly

    Hello

I installed an external USB connected hard drive Seagate to copy some movies and pictures of my HP laptop with Vista, but it became a big problem. It slowed the computer and check the new disc repeatedly. Then it wouldn't start without the external drive at all but it was working fine once he was conducting with the external hard drive. So thinking I can outsmart the computer, I uninstalled the drive from Control Panel. Now it primer not at all. The computer lights up briefly and then goes out of itself almost immediately, is there a solution to this? Thank you

    Original title: startup problem

    Hi SomBhattacharya,

Please try the possible fix following first thanks to Carey Frisch:

    1. open the BIOS of the motherboard.
    2. find where it says Priority Boot Device, then select CD/DVD-ROM 1, 2nd Hard Drive and disable all the rest.
3 find somewhere in the BIOS where it says BOOT USB, Wake on USB, etc. and disable all unnecessary options.

And second if it does not help, you can try the following with Blue Michael:

Local Geek Squad had me intentionally set the BIOS to the correct order, then re-order and SAVE.
It worked, even if the list of the BIOS was always in the right order.

    I hope this helps!

  • Satellite U500-115 - unknown devices after the Installation of Win XP

    Hello

I just installed Windows XP on a Satellite U500 - 115 (PSU5EE) and cannot get rid of several unknown devices in Device Manager.

Before to install the operating system, I changed settings AHCI in the BIOS to Compatibility-Mode (IDE), so I don't need to inject the SATA driver during installation.

    These are the unknown devices:

    ACPI\PNP0C32\1 (location: Intel ICH9M LPC Interface Controller - 2919)

    ACPI\PNP0C32\2 (location: Intel ICH9M LPC Interface Controller - 2919)

    ACPI\PNP0C32\3 (location: Intel ICH9M LPC Interface Controller - 2919)

    ACPI\PNP0C32\4 (location: Intel ICH9M LPC Interface Controller - 2919)

    ACPI\TOS6205\2 & DABA3FF & 0 (location: System compatible ACPI Microsoft)

Of course, I installed driver chipset and graphics driver from the toshiba download page, but the unknown devices are still there! Can you please tell me what kind of driver I need to install ACPI devices - and get rid of these unknown devices?

    Thanks in advance,
    Hans

    Hello

In my opinion the unknown devices belongs to the SATA interface controller and these appear as unknown device because you have installed the XP compatible mode.

Try to install the Intel Storage Manager driver.

ACPI\TOS6205 device can be a Bluetooth device.
You must install the battery Bluetooth to get rid of unknown device.

    welcome them

  • Satellite A100-237: unknown device after installing Vista

    Hi all

Just installed vista on my A100-237... After doing the upgrade of the BIOS and the installation of the "unknown device" Value Pack, with the location "on system compatible ACPI Microsoft" appeared in my device manager, any ideas on how to address this issue?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

Could you please check if you can see the 'Batteries' entry under ' computer in Device Manager?
As far as I know that the entrance of batteries should have a "Microsoft SMART Battery" & "Microsoft SMART Battery subsystem.

If there is an unknown device, this might have something to do with Microsoft ACPI Compliant Embedded Controller.
In this case it seems that you need a driver for MS SMART SMART Battery & MS battery subsystem.
