I've looked everywhere, I can't understand why there are still some 154 GB of audio files on my laptop. Any suggestions or tips are greatly appreciated. Please be lenient, I was on a pc for a few decades and finally crossed the step last year, but I'm still confused by all this cloud stuff and find my way in on a mac. (I'm on OS X Yosemite). I guess it's one thing to iTunes, but I could be far away.

  This is not a method for loading the songs on an iPod.  ITunes allows you to manage songs on an iPod.  You're a Mac user, iTunes is already installed.  If these song files that you have added manually (using the Finder) are still on the iPod, drag them to the trash.  Don't forget to empty the trash.

  Launch iTunes, connect the iPod.  The iPod is displayed as a button on the device on the horizontal bar that runs through the window iTunes.  Click to display the settings of the iPod summary screen in the iTunes window.  If you want to use the manual method of drag and drop (kinda like what you were doing with Finder earlier), find the check box for the videos and music manually manual.  If it is not already checked, check mark and click Apply (your iPod can be set that way already).
