Storage vs. phone SD card internal

Ladies and gentlemen:

Hello and thank you for reading my post.

I noticed that when I download an app, say, of the Android Market, it usually will find its way to the internal storage of phone on my Motorola Droid.  (The 'space' seems to diminish with each new download and is now 185MB).

However, my phone shows 14,89 14.93 GB GB in "Space" in the SD card... which makes me wonder...

Is there a reason why, with so much space on the SD card, apps and such take internal phone storage, instead?

Is there an advantage (or disadvantage), rather than have to go on the SD card?  Similarly, is there an advantage (or perhaps a disadvantage) to go the SD card instead?

If I wanted them to use much more space in the SD card, instead, how could I do?

Please contact your thoughts and thanks once again.

Sincerely,

Bram Weiser

The map is useful for storing pictures, videos, music, ringtones. I just also have mine hooked up to my computer and put an Excel on it for a quick return to the top. Some applications store information about the card. There are apps that will allow you to save apps on the SD (Astro). There are apps that will backup your text messages on the map.

As for your second question, the subtleties of the Android memory usage are something that I've never paid much attention. However, I remember more of some other threads on the subject.

Good luck.

  • Good storage format Micro SD card internal?

    Hey people,

Looking for feedback from users who have their microSD card formatted as internal storage extra. How is this work - not the phone still seem to operate/function smoothly? If so, how about some recommendations on micro SD that seem better suited for this cards?

To add something - if you format the card as external/portable... and you end up by internal storage space. You can back up everything on the card to a pc and then put in the internal form.

If you start with the map to the internal format, and you put more applications on it then will never fit back on your phone, you cannot migrate everything off of your card to a pc. If the card is in internal format, you may be able to move the photos to PC, but applications can be uninstalled or migrated to the inside until the inside is full.

In the G4 forums, a user just posted about how the SD card worked well under the name internal/passed until the Facebook app (it has migrated to the SDCard) got an update - it basically trashed his phone for awhile.

I see simply no reason to implement this (adopted) way until this that forced to do. Maybe N Android will work better, but Android M with adopted storage has much to be desired.

    JoBla, welcome to the forum.

It is becoming increasingly difficult to ensure that the latest components will work in an old computer.  Your computer is almost 3 years old.  My suggestion is to choose the SSD and the video card you want to buy and contact the Technical Support of the manufacturer to determine if it will work with your computer.  They are the experts on their products.  This will save you the possibility to pay for the return of one of them.  That's what I did and it works fine.

I can recommend a PSU 600W (PSU), however.  I love Corsair products.  Here is a very good power supply.  Read the reviews to see what users have to say about it.  There is a modular version of it, too.  The modular power supply is good for medium-sized cases.  It allows you to use only the cables that are absolutely necessary.  Which makes for airflow and better cable management.

Please click on the Thumbs up button '+' if I helped you and click on "Accept as Solution" If your problem is resolved.

  • Android update 6.0.1 impossible to format the SD card internal memory cannot move the app to the SD card

I've just updated to Android 6.0.1 yesterday evening and I realized a lot of things has changed. I can't access my store apps on the SD card in Android 5.1.1. I was able to move apps to the SD card on 5.1.1 to free internal memory. Update Marshmallow supposed to have better functionality. It can mount the provided internal memory SD card I have to formatted as internal memory. I have bee playing around with my phone all day and I made during the liberation of Sony, they do not have this feature. I've been YouTubeing autour and found in 6.0.1 in the submenu settings/storage/SD card, there should be 3 possibilities. Eject, Format and format the internal memory. That's what Miss me. Also if you insert the SD card for the first time, it should appear a notification asking you what to do with the SD card. He don't ask me. This is a feature known with Marshmallow. My phone have 16g, it won't hold all my apps, which was the reason why I spend a few apps to SD on Android 5.1.1. So what's happening?

I have also factory reset my phone and format my SD on my computer, it still doesn't work. He only treats like a portable storage.

    @CameronT

    Problem solved

I don't know that it's a bug or not. the reason why he did not move the app to the SD card was because the SD card has been beyond 32 G. Since I was a 64G with a total of 59G free. It will not transfer.  So I downloaded my photos, music and videos to take 1/2 of the memories. Now I have 29G left, restarted my phone and transfer of applications very well. go figure.

A solution has been published on Androidcentral.com

    http://forums.androidcentral.com/ask-question/598712-can-t-move-app-not-enough-storage-space.html

It's just a work around now, it would be really nice to have just mounted as internal memory memory card.

  • No space left on the partition SD card internal

    Hello

After the last update (32.2.A.0.305) a couple of days for my Compact Z5, I noticed that the free space on the internal SD partition is almost out. I cleaned cache applications.

I have not rooted the phone.
I don't have that many apps installed, but still the storage/settings page look like this:

In addition, solids Explorer application provides the following:

So from what I see, I should have about 18 GB of free, but I have almost nothing.

What's past and how to get back my space?

Guys you saved me... I've been struggling with internal storage on my Z5c problems and it turns out that this Xperia backup takes place near 7.5 GB of internal space even thought that my backup was put on the sd card... Perhaps, it creates a temporary backup on the internal storage before copying to the final destination...

While no case, no need for third-party tool erase it. Can be done via Apps I'm setting menu the process of the system see the and seek back and restore...

  • I have a graphics card internal "Intel (r) G33/G31 Express Chipset Family" which is supported by all other browsers expect Firefox. I'm under Windows8

I have trouble understanding why h/w acceleration is not supported for my graphics card. I have an internal card "Intel (r) G33/G31 Express Chipset Family '. Firefox said "Blocked for your version of the graphics driver" under troubleshooting information. I use Firefox beta 18 under Win8x64. So, here's the problem. When I ran Windows7x64, h/w acceleration was available under chrome & limiting too. I complained ever really because I realized that my card was about 5 years old. When I moved to Windows8 I was planning on getting a new graphics card, to my great surprise, Intel had released new drivers for this version of windows, but suddenly I was getting full throttle under IE, Chrome & Adobe flash plays also support accelerated videos. It would be useful that someone could tell me why Firefox only seems to have a problem.

  • Satellite A30 - 303 install wireless mini PCI card internal

    Hello
I am installing a PA3300U (Atheros) mini PCI WiFi internal card and have a basic question that I hope someone will be able to answer. There are two cables, white and black (under the cover of the wireless card on the case) which I suppose are for the internal antenna. The question is where do these attach to on the mini-PCI card (unfortunately I have no instructions for the card mounting)?
I'll be very grateful for any assistance with this.
    Best regards, Dave.

    Hello

I don't actually see one of the Atheros cards, but on other brands, there are two connectors that are marked with the HAND and to THE.
A white cable normally goes to the HAND and a black to the auxiliary voltage

  • Camileo S20 - do not use SD card, internal memory of only

    Anyone could be useful...

I have a S20 Camileo and you have inserted a HCSD class 6 8 GB card.
However, it is only using the internal memory (about 50 MB) and will not recognize the SD card.
In the settings there is a choice of "Format"... I chose 'YES '. This does not alleviate the problem.

I also have a Canon T1i with HD video movies. The card has worked wonderfully in this camera is not a card problem. Unless it must be formatted to the Canon and reformatted for the Toshiba. I'm a novice at this.

Is there something I'm missing? It seems that it should recognize the card or receive a framework to use the card.

    Thank you for your help.

If you bought the phone without a SIM card, it came with a SIM removal tool. If your phone does not have, a small paper clip, unfolded should work as well. Insert the tool into the small hole in the SIM tray (on the right edge of the iPhone) and press firmly until the tray ejects.

    Hello

Satellite P20 S203 is certainly Wi - Fi level and according to the specification of Toshiba (at this time), you can use two compatible WIFI adapters:
    Wireless LAN card PA3212U-4MPC (Agere 802. 11b) and PA3273U-2MPC (Atheros 802.11ab).

The card you want to use is new product, but I see no reason why it shouldn't work. Just try everything and if there is a problem of compatibility you can return.
