Store keys BitLocker in AD - create TPM ACE on the ORGANIZATION Test Unit?

Hello, we strive to make our computers store BitLocker recovery information in AD in accordance with the instructions given in these articles:

http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd875529 (WS.10) .aspx

http://blog.concurrency.com/infrastructure/enable-BitLocker-automatically-save-keys-to-Active-Directory/#storeinad

One step, cited in both articles is to allow the computers to write their secure their correspondents computer objects in active directory the TPM recovery information by running the script found here

This script seems to work in the world, I want to only operate on our group ORGANIZATIONAL unit pilot test computers. Is it possible to create these ACE on an ORGANIZATIONAL unit, and how can I do this?

Thank you

  • Yet WT8 - BITLOCK-how to create a key?

    Hi all.

    I have no need of BitLock on my Toshiba WT8 yet, but if you read my last post, you will see that he did a heck of a headache.

    To reduce the risk to be locked AGAIN somehow or other, I don't know how it happened the last time that I didn't activate or touch all the parameters relating to the BitLock) to my knowledge.

    As stated I have no need for this, nor do I have any knowledge in its use.

    I would like this does not happen, so I'll ask a few questions and you can help me please.

    I do not remember, but when the Tablet is first turned on and being prepared I get presented with the option/setting to enable/disable the Bitlocker?

    If not, and the operating system was set in motion, to access Bitlocker (on my Windows 7 PC desktop I'll in the Panel, I suppose that the table would be substantially the same).

    Now when the Bitlock icon has been clicked and it opens, that I have to actually activate it by clicking/tapping/ticking or else create a key, or can I create a key in the Bitlock window without it actually start/turn on the program?

    Concerning

    To be honest it s not I know if you will be asked to configure the Bitlocker configuration first.
    But as the bitlocker is a feature advanced Windows system and not available for all the Windows system, I think that this option is not in the first configuration.

    However, the Bitlocker is a feature of Microsoft Windows, and if you want more details on the features, I recommend you to check the page MS Bitlocker

  • FileVault store keys in iCloud

    Try to encrypt a MacBook Air.

    With more than 3 GB of available disk space in iCloud, when I choose iCloud is the place where to store the key for FileVault, I get the following message:

    An error occurred attempting to maintain the key to recovery in iCloud. The disk is not encrypted.

    I can't find a reference to this anywhere error message and do not want to keep the key noted.

    Why this is happening? (I'm connected to the internet, so iCloud is accessible)

    Thank you.

    Hello there, jgfr22.

    As I understand it, you try to encrypt your MacBook Air using FileVault and are unable to store the key to recovery in iCloud. The following Knowledge Base article speaks with the options available for the recording of your recovery key for FileVault:

    Use FileVault to encrypt the disk to boot your Mac.

    Choose a recovery option

    When you turn on FileVault on your startup disk, you can choose an option that allows you, if you forget your password:

    • In OS X Yosemite, you can store your key FileVault on iCloud. You can then use your iCloud account name and the password to unlock your startup disk or reset your password.
    • In OS X Mavericks, you can share your key with Apple FileVault by answering a set of questions of security. You can then contact the Apple Support if you have forgotten your password and need to decrypt your boot drive.
    • You can also create a recovery key that consists of a combination of numbers and letters. You can use this key to unlock your drive or turn off FileVault. Keep a copy of this key somewhere other than your encrypted boot disk. If you notice the key, be sure to copy exactly the letters and numbers that are displayed, and keep a safe place that you will remember. If your Mac is a company or school, your school can also define a recovery key to unlock.

    Your password and the recovery key is very important. If you do not have access to your password or the recovery key, you will not be able to log on or access to one of the documents or other data stored on your Mac's startup drive.

    Thank you for reaching out to the communities of Apple Support.

    Kind regards.

    Hey guys,.

    I Googled what to do about this error message and all I got was to ensure that the ISO is disassembled. I did, and yet I still get the same exact error message. I am trying to install a partition of Windows 7 with an ISO on a flash drive with Boot Camp Assistant. Everytime I try it however, I get the error "your bootable USB key could not be created there is not enough space available on the disk. The flash drive that I use for this is 64 GB, so I doubt that the issue has to do with not enough available space. I have already tried the obvious, like reformat the flash drive and retry the write. Is there something I could hurt or do differently to make it work?

  • Win7 BitLocker - required measure of TPM is missing

    System:

    PC with Gigabyte motherboard and recognized Infineon TPM module connected to the motherboard header.

    Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit

    Module introduced TPM (taking possession)

    Problem

    When you try to enable Bitlocker on drive C - error requiring a measure of TPM is missing.

    Have you tried

    1. Several reboots
    2. No verification no CD is in the drive
    3. Unplug an external SATA dock
    4. Check that the Windows 7 100 MB system partition is set to active
    5. Checking of the TPM is enabled in the BIOS
    6. A cup of tea and a lie down, before trying again every evening.

    Sometimes it will appear to work, calls me to restart to put in place the TPM, but it starts in Windows and then I get this error again.

    Any thoughts?  I've looked everywhere.

    The only thing I can think is Acronis Startup Manager, that has now been disabled or deleted.

    Thanks Yaqub K

    I have now solved this however, by restoring the default signature my MBR?  I suspect that Acronis can upset the MBR signature during the installation of the (now disabled) start utility.
    So restored by unplugging all my other drives and by following these instructions:
    Anyway it works now so I suspect it was her.
    I also forced an update of the BIOS but I had not received the update instructions (GB) and I've updated just a month or two there (when I built the PC) so I doubt that's the issue.
    Well I was not choosing "clear the DMI data pool" at the same time, so maybe I can't be sure...
    Can I still publish this upward on TechNet in case someone else can benefit?
    Anyway fortunately writing from a Bitlocker Drive encrypted!

  • Create a USB from the recovery CD recovery provided - SOLUTION

    You don't have to buy and CD/DVD external for use provided recovery CD. I guess you all have access to a computer with a CD player. Also, you can buy a 2 GB USB flash memory.

    Using any other computer with a linux or win OS - insert the CD and create the image of this CD .iso file using any application of CD/DVD writer provided. If you use Ubuntu or linux in general, you can use of Brasero CD/DVD burner. Once in the Brazier, choose Copy CD/DVD and in the drop-down menu, select image file. Brasero will create the .iso image file and save it on your hard drive in GNU as file brasero.iso.

    If you prefer to use the terminal / shell to create an iso file enter these commands:

    sudo umount/dev/cdrom

    DD if = of = file.iso / dev/cdrom

    Now we have created the image file and is sitting on the hard drive for you. Now we must create a USB bootable from this image. To do this, download Unetbootin from the link below. It is available for linux and win.

    [http://sourceforge.net/projects/unetbootin/]

    Once you have downloaded Unetbootin, you insert the USB memory (it takes 2GB). Launch Unetbootin. Now the option select the second option - iso image and browse to the location of the file on your hard drive and click Open. Below select the usb - slot Linux key something like/dev/sdb1 or/dev/sdc1 - usually it is the name of the drive selected automatically by Unetbootin.

    Click on apply or Ok. the bootable USB key will be created in a few minutes. Once it's done insert in your Toshiba NB 100 and press F12 to start the netbook, a menu option will display - select USB device and press ENTER.

    Now the machine will start and menu start Unetbootin will show - recovery SELECT, then press enter and follow the instructions - and you'll be all set. No need to spend extra money for an external CD drive.

    I tried yesterday and works like magic. Good luck.

  • Create a backup of the plant on removable storage

    Can it be done? I have a 32 GB Acer Iconia Tab 8 W, with 8.1 on Windows, it leaves me with not enough space for the backup. But I put a memory card and get a command prompt to create a backup. I don't know how the program works, or what he does to create a.

    Edit: Is it fair to backup a partition already on the hard drive if I had to use a USB stick as described here? Because I'm sure that my Tablet does not come with a recovery partition... If this is true, then my problem is solved. I need to order the Acer recovery media. If the nagging thing can actually download the default factory setting on my Micro SD card, which can be placed on a USB key, I'd be surprised but delighted.

    In fact, you have two options. Acer recovery software will create an image of the 'factory restore' for you. The Windows backp (IIRC it's Windows 7 backup & restore) will create a backup that gives back to what you currently have. They will work together with the USB drives, and I think with the SD cards as well. Windows, you will require a second disc to create the boot recovery image. I would suggest using a 16 GB drive for Acer backup images, a 4 GB drive for the recovery disc and a 32 GB for Windows backup. If it were me, I would get a USB adapter cable and do everything on the readers of thumb, so the adapter is useful for little mjuch anything that uses USB.

  • I can't see changes in a folder unless I go up a level and then re-enter folder, for example, create new folder, rename the folder, rotate the image etc. Can someone please?

    I do not see changes within a folder, except if I go up a level and then again enter the folder, for example, create new folder, rename the folder, rotate the image, etc..

    By pressing the "F5" key would probably be to refresh the folder.

    The analysis may take some time, so be patient. Windows allows to fix corrupt or missing files it finds. If the information of the installation CD is required to fix the problem, you may be asked to insert your Windows Vista installation CD.

    Hello

    After trying for a while, I get it how to use FileConnection.mkdir () in my code.

    But I am facing a problem here. When the mkdir() is executed, it gives me FileIOException: file system error

    Here is my code that attempts to create a directory called myDir

    try {}
    FileConnection fc = (FileConnection) Connector.open ("file:///store/home/myDir", Connector.READ_WRITE);
    If (! fc.exists ()) {}
    FC.mkdir ();

    }
    } catch (Exception e) {}
    Dialog.Alert (try ());
    }

    I even tried to give the path like 'file:///store/home/myDir/' because I tried to create a directory. But it also gives the same exception.

    Please let me know if I'm doing one any mistake here.

    Thank you

    Hello

    I think the problem is... BlackBerry does not allow a directory to be created in the folder /store/ the device. Because I am able to create a directory in the directory/SDCard /.

    Is this something that we cannot create a directory in the root directory of the device?

    I'm sorry to keep posting here because I'm trying various things in my code and got to know more. But I write as soon as I get a result, so that it can be useful for those who are looking for the same thing.

    I even tried to create a directory in/store/home/user/and it works fine. So that means, we need to create our directories in the directory/store/home/user or/SDCard /.

    Please correct me if I'm wrong.

    Please make sure that the BlackBerry Simulator has been configured to support a micro SD card.  For this in the BlackBerry JDE by clicking on the menu Edition, by selecting Preferences, by clicking on the Simulator tab, then on the tab memory and filling of the size of the SD card and the SD card image settings.

    Hi yog123,

    The code you mentioned is valid, but I guess you make a small mistake here.

    Whenever you want to create a directory, you should give "/" after the name directory to inside the Connector.open)

    Just put "/" after the directory name "sp" in your code as shown below.

    FileConnection fconn = (FileConnection)Connector.open("file:///SDCard/BlackBerry/pictures/sp/",Connector.READ_WRITE);

    Please let us know if you still find no problem.

    Thank you
