Separated from this thread.

Hello

None of these solutions worked.  I am still trying access the windows store, but always clicking on the mosaic of windows store, it's like it opens to load and then nothing happens.  It feels as if it's been quite some time that windows 8.1 update, but I still can't the windows store to open...

I tried the windows app trouble shoot... and I got the following:

-A box opens

-At the TOP, it said "year Error Occurred."

- Then in the box itself, in a blue font, ' an error occurred during troubleshooting:

-Then below, in black letters, "a problem is preventing the troublshooter to start.

I hope someone can help please so that I can finally spend phone my wife to Windows 8.1 because it cannot download apps or really do anything with his laptop.  Thanks in advance for any help!

  • Update Windows Installer is dead & now: 0x0000007B blue screen (0x80399BB0 0 x 0000034 0x00000000 0x00000000) AND a fix will prevent the system from starting.

I was installing updates of windows and the computer is dead in the middle of it.  When I turned it back on it brought me to a blue screen with error codes: 0x0000007B (0x80399BB0 0 x 0000034 0x00000000 0x00000000).  It prompted me to do a system restore or to get to the system recovery, however it shows that there is no available restore points (even though I know that there are a bunch of them... because I checked this before I tried to make the updates of windows).  I went into the system recovery & the scan of my system with a scan of the additional memory, and there is nothing wrong with my real hardware.  The error recovery of the system that was given to me after the scan of my system is "a fix prevents the system to start.".  I looked at different positions in line with methods to get around this, but none of them does not seem to work.  Vssadmin does not appear on my system to try to use it again.

I also tried cela http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistarepair/thread/8b3e2550-c174-486f-b5dc-98260abc05f9, but as I mentioned before all my restore points have disappeared and when I try not to make method 4 there is no pending.xml file and these registry entries do not exist: HLKM\Offline Components\AdvancedInstallersNeedResolving, HKLM\Offline Components\PendingXmlIdentifier.

I'm almost done try all this and ready to make a fresh Windows... Install but I hate to really do this knowing that everything was working fine before all this & my hardware is fine... If I could just figure out how to get rid of this darn update all this hangs then all would be well.  Anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance,

    Phatty

    Hello

When a computer dies in the middle of an update, it often corrupts many system files leaving no other choice than to reinstall. This is why it is always recommended that laptops/notebooks be connected when you install updates. If Windows was trying to replace a critical system file when the power is off, there are very little that you can do to fix it. If possible, start with a system for the Recovery Console disk and try running "sfc/scannow" to correct or replacement of the damaged system files, but does not satisfy, you are faced with a relocation.

  • A patch prevents the system from starting. Windows Vista operating system

More than once, I am unable to boot. Frequently use must be taken at the beginning of repairs and restoring the system. The other day, that the following text is displayed:

"A patch prevents the system to start."

    Hello

    ·          You get this message every time that you start the computer?

    ·          Were there any changes made to your computer before this problem?

This occurs if an update is not installed successfully.

Try the procedure described in the following article:

  • Vista will not start after update 12/9 - a patch prevents the system from starting.

My computer has downloaded an automatic update on 09/12/09.  It restarted while I was at work, and when I got home he had just ran a startup repair function which could not solve the problem.  I tried to run the rapair again and it failed.  I tried to do a system restore on the eve of the update, but the operating system could not start again, and I was sent automatically the Startup Repair tool.

When I look at the diagnostics, the message says "a patch prevents the system from starting.  I have no idea how to solve this problem.  Can someone please?

    PCrepair101,
You try to use the package manager I link a few post above?  Otherwise, demarrer start from your DVD, type command prompt, and then follow the steps in method 2.  http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/940410
If this does not fix it you can rename the pending.xml file and restart.  To do this, boot from the DVD and enter the command line.  Then type:
CD windows\winsxs - press on enter
    Ren pending.xml pending.old - press on enter

    Then restart the system.

You said "when I try to do a system restore, it is said that there is no previous restore point" and I was wondering if you have tried a "Startup Repair" not a system restore.  Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers

  • I connect my Canon camera, wiaacngr.exe opens a window asking me to select the program to start. But it offers only two options: M/S Office Word and scanner and camera wizard.

    original title:wiaacmgr.exe

I found a lot on the Internet about wiaacngr.exe not opening not or refuses to recognize the camera.  My problem is almost the opposite!   Whenever I connect my Canon camera, by USB, my current laptop (Windows XP Pro SP3 of v5), wiaacngr.exe opens a window asking me to select the program to start.  But it offers only two options: M/S Office Word and scanner and camera assistant, neither of which I want to use.  If I close the window...  Not much, but it's a nuisance.  I would be happy if she has proposed to launch work stations.  I then click on the box "Make this every time" and will never see the window.  Otherwise, I'd be happy to remove the program completely.  Can someone tell me how to achieve one of these?  S ' Please!

  • Active window color problem - cannot change the background color

original title: Active window color problem

By right-clicking: Desktop, then click on: personalization / window color and appearance / settings (Advanced) appearance, Windows user can assign a background color of the active window in any application.  This is useful for those of us who don't want a stark white screen; We can assign a mild pastel tint which may be easier on the eyes for long term sessions.

At some recent point, I lost the background color of the active window within Windows uses 'household.  I still not my background color assigned in any application I run (Word, Mail, etc.), but using Windows Explorer to navigate through my hard drive, the active window is now always the default stark white Windows.  How this change and can it be forced to adhere to the assigned active window background color?

  • In Windows 8, an error prevents the slideshow to play as screensaver, also error when playing YouTube videos and no sound on videos

Everything was working fine a week ago and I never changed anything, but my screen of sleep (Windows Live Photo Gallery), stopped working and I got this error message.  As it happened, when I try to play videos YouTube I get an error message and it tells me to try again later.  Videos in other formats will play, but there is no sound on any of them although when I run the maintenance program it says there is no problem with the sound.  I don't know which is the case because I tried some fixes, I found on the internet and the screensaver CAME and returning for a day, but then stopped working again the next day.

This question was asked before with earlier versions of Windows, but no one seems to have found a permanent solution?  Help, please.

    Hello

You can run the SFC tool and check if that helps. SFC/scannow is a very useful command that you can use in any version of Windows. When the SFC (System File Checker) command is used with the/scannow switch, the tool analyzes all the important files of Windows on your computer and replace if necessary. Missing and the corruption of the operating system (like many DLLs) files are probably the main cause of the major problems of Windows.

See the following steps to perform a scan SFC:

    (a) press the Windows key + X, select the prompt (Admin) to bring up the elevated command prompt.

    (b) in the command prompt, type the following command: sfc/scannow then press ENTER.

    (c) after the scan, restart the computer and check if the problem persists.

Response with the State of the question and we will be happy to offer you our help.

  • Windows 7 problem after create the paging file

Get message to the windows startup has create a swap file that may be more important that I have, but no match for the swap file

How much hard drive space you have and how many partitions? I saw the page file set on a different partition if the C:\ drive is not large enough. You press 'Set' after you have changed to allow the system to manage the pagefile? You can't just press on apply. Maybe you moved the pagefile to another partition or drive under Vista?

By Googling autour, I found something very similar to your situation here:

    http://social.answers.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/w7performance/thread/992de6a8-bec2-4E74-b6d9-d418a7f5cda0

Thus, according to this link, the procedure is to:

Start > Search > type: cmd
When cmd appears in the above results, right-click and choose "Run as Administrator". Provide the password/OK to the UAC prompt, and a command prompt opens. At the prompt, type:

SC config afs start = disabled [Enter]

and then quit the command prompt. Note that there is no space after 'start' but there is a after the equal sign.

The thread referenced in this link gives more details. Please note that I have not tried this since my Win7 pagefile is fine and I don't want to spoil it. I don't have a testbed box or VM to experiment on this point. YMMV Yes.
