    Thank you in advance...

    Hello René.

I suggest you try the following:

close and exit all the open documents or windows program you have open.

    1. open Internet Explorer (only!) to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/910336 [ignore the title & symptoms].

1B. make disappear/close the pop-up window "automated troubleshooting! -then...

    2. Restart & then run manually check the updates in Windows Update, etc, etc...
When you get to Windows Update, a custom scan updates. Take (accept) those marked critical or Important.

Those that are marked as "optional" decline.

Have infinite patience so that it scans and it's work.

When you are prompted to restart Windows, please do. Allow it to restart.

If you still have a failure and you just did a Fix - IT in the default mode, date back to 1 a/1 c and now this time make the default mode AND aggressive mode (both) and retry Windows Update again

also I try to communicate directly with Microsoft, and when asked for the PID (ID), I insert and always gives me a server error or other problems

I need help please. Thanks in advance

I ran into the problem last night where I could not install, reinstall, or update all apps in the Windows store.  I'm still under Windows 8 and 8.1 not for reasons known but that is for another place.
This problem took me a day to find and troubleshoot, ALLL and I mean about 8 solid hours.  The error codes I received kept windows pointing store of problems with Windows Update or other corruptions of system, but after all of these solutions and executed the partner checks several times nothing was wrong with my Windows Update.  I would have guessed considering how I could still download updates from MS very well.
What solved MY problem (and I bet that most of your establishments), was actually a file permissions issue.  There are TWO, count them 2 folders that you should be sure your username has full permissions.  I saw there of the patches that speak on one or the other, but you need BOTH.  Here is the path to these files file: (remember 'C' is my root drive, is the name of each user on the system, and if you have customized your installation of windows, or the location of the user folder, you must change this path to match)
    C:\Program Files\WindowsApps
    \AppData\Local\Packages C:\Users\
Before you follow this procedure, access the Windows store and cancel all pending installations (or omitted).
To set the permissions: (if at any time, the system asks the permission of the administrator, you must grant it)
    1. make sure that you logged in with an administrator account.
    2. open Windows Explorer and navigate to C:\Program FIles.
    3. Locate the file WindowsApps (all the way down)
NOTE: this is a hidden folder, so do not forget, you go to the top of the window and click on the 'View' tab, then check the box next to "Hidden items" in the Show/Hide section.
    4. right click on the WindowsApps file and choose "Properties".
    5. click on the security"" tab.
    6. click on the button "Advanced".
7.1 if your username is listed in the list under entity double-click on it (otherwise go to 7.2)
7.1 a - ensure the Type: is 'Allow' and the applies to: is "this folder, subfolders and files.
7.1 b - click the full control checkbox
    7.1.c - click OK
7.2 If your username is not listed, click on the button "Add" below the list (you may need to click on 'Edit' to the 'Add' button to appear)
7.2 a - click on "Select a main" link at the top.
7.2 b-"Advanced", click on "find now".
7.2 c - book here your user name in the list and double-click on it
    7.2d - click OK
7.2E - ensure the Type: is 'Allow' and the applies to: is "this folder, subfolders and files.
7.2f - click the full control checkbox
    7.2.g - click OK
    8. you should now see your username in the list of the "Advanced Security Settings for WindowsApps" with "Full control" in the access column (if you do not, go back to 7.1 or 7.2 and carefully follow the steps once again).  Click OK
    9 go to C:\Users\\AppData\Local
NOTE: AppData is a hidden folder, so be sure you have the "Hidden items" box checked
    10. right click on the WindowsApps file and choose "Properties".
    11. click on the security"" tab.
    12. click on the button "Advanced".
13 follow the same procedure in steps 7.1 or 7.2 to add your username to the list to this folder with full control permissions.

    . Restart your computer.
That's it, once your computer restarts, you should be able to use the store Windows to install applications and updates.
Once you confirm that it works for you, I recommend you to create an image of the master volume of your Windows System.  All this happened to me while I was trying to get everything set up initially, but once you do, using the image as a good quick a good known Configuration reboot is a MUCH faster way to solve many problems with Windows... SAME A WAY TO GO BACK to Windows 8 Windows 8.1 IF YOU FIND THE NEED. • Canon scan to folder (Server 2008 R2) from the latest Windows Updates (13 sep 2012) it doesn't work anymore...

We have a few Multi functional Cannon, who were able to scan to folder to our file server 2008 R2 server.

Since the latest Windows Updates (13 sep 2012) it doesn't work anymore...

Nothing has changed for folders or shares. Actions are like:

    \\fs01\scans\IT

    Shared folder is \\fs01\scans

Share permissions are full for everyone

On the COMPUTER folder, only the service and the Canon scanner user have full conrol...

When I turn off the firewall of Windows on the FS01, it works.

Can I get a SMB = OK on the Multi functional.

When I turn on the WIndows firewall, I get a SMB = NG on the multifuntional

I checked the rules and everthing about file and printer sharing is allowed...

Can someone please think about what to do?
Because really don't want to go with Windows Firewall disabled.

The Endpoint Protection 2010 Anti Virus is installed on the FS01, but given that disabling the Windows Firewall works, I don't think that the Anti Virus has nothing to do with it.

Update: I tried two other servers 2008 R2 (with also the Windows Firewall on) and it works! So there's something wrong with this one server... But as far as I can see, the firewall has all the file and open sharing of printers of things... And when I connect with the Canon Scan on a PC user I can browse places very well.

  • Update XP 32-bit to 64-bit Windows 8 - keep this Windows.old folder?

On this Web page , which is titled "Upgrading to Windows 8.1 of Windows Vista or Windows XP", he States the following:

    BEGINNING

    "Note".

    • You can always restore your personal files after that you upgraded to Windows 8.1. Your files are stored in the Windows.old folder, where you can retrieve them after the upgrade. For more information, see recover files from the Windows.old folder. »

    END

However the foregoing relates to the upgrade from XP 32 bit to 32 bit of windows 8. My question is, is this Windows.old folder that is preserved when you upgrade XP 32 bit to 8 64-bitwindows?

I have a lot of shortcut links to files and folders, etc. These shortcut links are stored in the Windows.old folder, or I will have to be reprinted, tell them that I have probably 100's and it would be so a real problem.

    Hello

Do the following before upgrade you to Windows 8/8.1.

Check if the manufacturer of your computer/laptop has Windows 8/8.1 drivers available for your model.

If this is not available, Windows 8/8.1 not install and work properly for you.

There is a lot of information in this first link from Microsoft:

Download and run the Windows Upgrade Assistant 8.1 of to see if your machine is compatible Windows 8.1 and read the update for Windows 8.1: FAQ here

  • When I try to use the Windows Update link for my XP computer I get a message indicating that the location where the Windows Update stores data has changed and it needs to be repaired. How can I solve this problem?

When I try to use the Windows Update link for my XP computer and after using Windows Mr. Fix - It, I get a message indicating that the location where the Windows Update stores data has changed and must be repaired. How can I solve this problem?

I'm not that computer literate and do not understand what needs to be fixed.

This problem just started a few weeks when I noticed that I had any recent download automatic update that I regularly get. So I tried to do it manually through access via my control panel.

I use ESET Antivirus Node32 software.

    Hello

    1. What is the error message or an exact error code?

2 have you made changes on the computer before this problem?

    3. you try to check the updates?

I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.

    Method 1:

Reset Windows Update components and then try to download the updates.

Could someone help me on this issue.

I need to change the folder where download windows updates, I know there must be a way to do this.

Updates Windows installation location cannot be changed. Windows updates tend to fix and replace the old files of the system, so it would normally replace a file in the System32 folder.

If you want to free up disk space, see the following:
