• Storm screen hangs

  Hi guys,.

  I wonder if someone has already discovered this problem and I have some explanation or a workaround for it.

  We have on-screen editing scope and when the user enters something might be warning with three options in this regard.

  Question - illustrated dialogue is minimal for three buttons and there is little scrolling appears in the dialog box. If the user tries to scroll up and down several times screen hangs. It does not react on the buttons or hard the user entry.

  I only see: JVM: bklt [1]: setTimeOut 45 in the debug log when I touch device.

  I wounder where is the problem and how I can solve this problem.

  I found the solution!

  I cut all the features, no user - this predefined option request. Great! No more freezes.

• Screen of blackBerry Smartphones stuck in portrait mode?

  BlackBerry Storm screen is stuck in portrait mode message or email.  All other apps in landscape mode and portrait work.  I am a new user and I hope that it is an easy fix.  Any help is appreciated

• BlackBerry Smartphones Storm1 screen turns black after sheathed

  I have Storm1 with v5.0.0.328 OS, with 3 "third party" installed applications. (Visual Voicemail, VZ Navigator and VZw tones) I do not have, or do anything else is running in the background. My problem is occasinally, after I unholster my Storm1, the screen is black. I press the buttons at the bottom of the screen, even the release button, nothing happens. I have to do a battery pull to Storm1 works again. Normally when I unholster Storm1, the wallpaper is displayed with a message, the screen is unlocked, press on unlock button to unlock. What's this problem of "memory leak" or something else?

  Thanks for the help. I did the upgrade to v5.0.0.419 on my Storm1. My computer is Windows Vista, so I had fun a little hard to find certain files (c:\program files\). He did not exactly "vender.xml", but I managed to make it work. I did the backup and restore when the software prompt RIM came out. Only problem, all my MMS saved disappeared, but a single message from Verizon is still there. I consider that it is minor, because I saved a few media media card. I can can still send and receive e-mails, sms. MMS. I do not know if this OS update will solve the occasianally Storm screen goes black, after unholstering. But I mark this resolved for now.  Thank you.

  Just bought a BB Storm 2, 9520. But I find that something doesn't look good, but not exactly if this is a problem or it's just the design of the phone. Please enlighten me on this.

  The touch screen of my phone is not 'fix' like other phone touch screen. The sensation of touching the screen of BB is as pressing a button where it will "support on ' when you tap on the screen. Is this normal for this phone?

• S of Smartphones Conncection blackBerry Desktop Manager and Blackberry Storm problems

  Hi, Newbie question!  My storm will not connect to the Blackberry Desktop Manager (although once the reinstallation of the desktop) on my low-end pc screen to the right icon indicates the gray phone and says offline - Desktop Manager.

  In the Desktop Manager I activated the USB - (the PIN code is correct) but that the setting must be activated whenever I open the Desktop Manager.

  I have run the office and then place the storm in the cradle.  Windows recognizes that the device has been connected.  The storm screen becomes white and connect to the office... messages and there it remains stuck.  The only way I can get the storm to work again is to ride the battery pull (thanks for the tip, BTW).  Is there something that I should activate first on the storm?  The storm is for personal use only and is not connected with any company/server, etc.  Suggestions or a fix would be welcome.

  Hi, thanks for this! I found a different solution on another forum that worked. It's OK for my Windows XP SP3 but I don't know if it will work with Vista.

  1. Download the latest BB Desktop software for your region/carrier and save to the desktop.
  2. Right click on the exe file.
  3. New box appears: right click on "Run As"... "then left click on 'run '.
  4. New dialog box is displayed.  Hold the current user radio button, but uncheck "protect my computer and data from unauthorized program activity.
  5. Install the software following all the usal prompts that may appear.

  I then stopped the automatic start of programs for the Office Manager, so it does not raise upward when the pc is turned on.

  Now, I first connect the BB Storm to the pc and then manually start Desktop Manager: office and the BB Storm now connect to another.  Works for me, so I hope this is helpful to someone else pulling their hair!

• Storm BlackBerry Smartphones new

  I've had my storm for a little over a month now and have had some problems. When the phone works well, it's amazing, but I feel like I need some answers. I realize that they probably were all answers here already, but I don't have the time/patience to find if all discussions to find... Any help on this would be much appreciated.

  #1 I already scratched the screen a bit, as I expected. Cures? Repairs? AIDS?

  #2 the storm seems much slow down and/or freeze? Why? Cure?

  #3 any means to improve the battery life? It's decent, but still seems short sometimes.

  #4 orientation seems sometimes a little confused or risk of stuck and the screen doesn't flip.

  #5 if it goes dead it takes forever to load up and it shuts down the antenna?

  #6 the program computer-blackberry jams and does not work very well at all.

  That's all... Seems like a lot, but really is not. Love the phone, looking for some answers/solutions to the theses of the little hiccup.

  I'll try to answer some of your questions.

  (1) the scratches on the screen is most likely on the plastic screen protector that came on your phone.  Just remove it and all these scratches will be gone.  Your storm screen is very durable, and some people said you don't need coverage of the protection screen.

  (2) if it is slow, you may have other applications running.  Best thing to do is a battery pull and see if things speed up.

  (3) the best way to improve the battery life is to turn off Bluetooth when not in use.  Turn off GPS.  Make sure that you are not on the global network and update network 1XEV.

  (4) if all goes well they will be able to fix this in the future.

  (5) not a good idea to drain your battery to death because that will harm the battery and damage it.  Always load before it affects 20% of life.

  (6) do a battery pull.

  Good luck and let us know if one of these suggestions helped.

  Hi all

  I managed to download and install the Google sync for the storm app, and when loading, I can enter my username for google but I can't move the cursor down to the password field to allow me to enter the password.  The screen, no matter where I touch does not.

  Is there a keyboard shortcut for the storm to tab down?

  Well, after addressing different personalities techy of Vodafone, Google & Blackberry they were puzzled.  Then all of a sudden the storm screen froze and nothing I could do would be to make it work.  Then I remembered what I'd do if I had to provide 1st level, which is the standard answer-reboot and call us back if the problem persists...

  I took the battery and everything worked much more quickly - and even Google Sync app now allows me to enter the password information in the password field.  Then duh!  If in doubt, back to basics...

• size different fields on different devices

  I wrote an application that has a few simple fields. The layout is something like below:

  -VFM - VFM
  -HFM HFM

  The low hfm contain the field so that you have two rows of fields next to each other. Now on a BB storm2 they look perfectly in portrait mode (360 wide if I'm wrong). On the BB Bold (9700) looks like * beep *. The text in the fields on the left does not match a single line all of a sudden while the screen is wider? In the code, I even put the width of fields to 140 in size. Can someone explain to me how it is possible that on a BB9700 140 is less wide it is a storm. Or am I oversee something here?

  The reason is that the 9700 screen is 480 pixels wide, while the storm screen is only 360 pixels wide in portrait mode. Thew Bold 9700 has a much higher pixel density, which causes the object will appear smaller than they do on other devices.

  For this reason, a field of 140 pixels wide will fill about half of the screen of the storm, but it will fill only about 1/3 of the 9700's screen.

  The solution would be a relative (like 45%) instead of an absolute value (like 140) the value of the field with

  Try something like this:

  int fieldWidth = (int) (Display.getWidth() * 0.45);
  

  This will outline the variable 'fieldWidth"equal to 45% of the width of the screen of the device. Then you can it use to set the size of your field.

  I use the following code for the image capture.

  In 4.3.0 (8120 device), when we use Display.getWidth () and Display.getHeight () it gives 240 x 320 respectively which has the correct size of the device.

  But in 4.7.0 Blackberry storm, when we use it gives data(240x320) even where the size of the device screen real is 360 x 480.

  So when we capture the image in the storm he's only half of the image. And also when hard code us the image like it from 360 x 480 size is thrown exception.

  Please suggest is there a way to capture full screen.

  After the upgrade, El Capitan for macOS Sierra, whenever I try to Watch youtube videos or videos online on full screen, the computer just automatically restarts itself, why? Anyone with a similar problem?
