Strange error BSOD on HP Pavilion dv6t (XW898AV)

Hello. Sometimes my computer starts late randomly and does not respond. It seems to be related to the graphics card drivers. I'm on the latest version of the BIOS and the graphics drivers from the HP site. However, if I try to reinstall (or even during the first installation, I think) graphics drivers I get a BSOD the drivers not being is not the right one.

However this BSOD error is unlike the one I've seen before. It happens if I try to leave my computer shut down by itself when it gets all the lag. In the meantime, my a CPU core random would be just to go to 100% and just hang there. There don't seem to be able to resolve itself.

Here is a picture of the BSOD screen I got.

The computer specs are:

Windows 7 Home Premium - 64-bit

Intel 2nd Gen Core i7 - 2630M

ATI Radeon HD 6770M

8 GB RAM

Any help would be appreciated. Already, I went into the BIOS and made a disc and check the memory and both come clean so you don't need to post that.

If you had read that last line, you would hav seen that I had already done this but through the BIOS instead of the HP UEFI thing.

However I found the problem with my computer. For any reason whatsoever, when I wasn't using on power HP Power Manager plans and used the built in Windows instead, it would cause my computer to start to hang really bad if I put the display to sleep and then wake it up and save. Now that I have uninstalled HP Power Manager everything is fine now.

  • Install WD Black2 Dual Drive on a Pavilion dv6t-7000

    Hello

I recently bought a new internal hard drive for my HP Pavilion dv6t-7000 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC and have some difficulties to install the drivers for it. I bought a Western Digital Black2 Dual disc, which is a hybrid disk with 120 GB SSD and 1 TB of HARD drive, but I can't access the 1 TB because the installer for WD drivers keeps returning an error code.

After much digging, I found documentation of the WD site that States the particualr error I received was due to one) the SATA mode to RAID in the BIOS, or b) an Intel driver a RAID reporting configuration. I can not check the BIOS settings myself, because the tab in the BIOS for this is hidden and locked down due to the fact that I'm working on a laptop of HP (I found answers on the forums for models with slightly different laptop computer that reported the AHCI is the default SATA for HP laptops) (, but unable to verify for my particular model). However, I was able to find an Intel driver that can cause the problem in the Device Manager. It is listed under 'Storage controllers' and is called 'Intel(r) ICH8M-E/ICH9M-E SATA RAID Controller '. When you contact the service customer of WD, the representative has tried to help me change this default Microsoft Inbox Driver by following the process: (right click > update driver software > Browse my computer... > choose from the list of device drivers). Unfortunately, it was not useful because the afforementioned Intel driver is the only one available. I was a bit puzzled by that because I installed windows 7 from scratch, only adding the drivers from the HP site needed to establish a wireless connection to download the installation of WD software.

So basically I'm looking for help in these areas: a) to determine the particular my laptop model SATA mode, b) to understand why I have the default Microsoft Inbox Driver, c) installation of the Microsoft Inbox Driver default value or a Variant that works with AHCI, and/or d) any other course of action I could take additional troubleshooting.

  • HP Pavilion Dv6t 2000 CTO-two unknown device

    Hi all

My laptop is HP pavilion Dv6t 2000 CTO, product no.: NQ615AV, run the Windows 7 64-bit operating system.

    It has two unknown device:

    1. PCI Express Root Complex
    2. Intel PM55 Express Chipset LPC Interface Controller - 3B 03

    Driver status: code 28.

I haved installed driver: audio, graphics, Player cards, chipset (sp45629), quick launch.

    Please help me!

    Thank you very much.

The Unit came with Windows 7, or is it upgraded to Windows 7? If you upgrade, what was a facility on the spot or own?
It was like that out of the box, or was it a recent development? Nothing changed at all before that? It is strange for drivers just disappear.

Have you tried to use the automatic update of the Intel driver? If not, go here and select it. It must analyze and find the drivers for the listed products that both are involved with the motherboard and chipset.

  • Edition of Quad Pavilion dv6t-7000

Hi, I need to buy a fan for my Pavilion dv6t-7000 quad edition, where can I get this part? I have searched for it for a while now and I can't find it.

Using the HP Pavilion dv6 Maintenance & Service guide as a reference, the part number of HP laptop is as shown in the image below. The choice will depend on whether your laptop has the graphic solution (NVIDIA GeForce GT M 630 or 650 M) is equipped with only the graphics card Intel HD integrated. It's pretty simple to find an online seller using a search Google or Bing with HP and the part number as the search keywords.

  • HP Pavilion dv6t-6100 CTO Quad problem with graphics switchable

    -HP Pavilion dv6t-6100 CTO Quad

    -Win7 64-bit

-Can not pass an Intel HD 3000 and Radeon 6770

I recently had a problem with my computer that I solved it by using a recovery disk to do a clean install of windows.  When I was running, I noticed that when I right click on the desktop I no longer get the switchable graphics configuration option.

I started by redownloading from the site Web of AMD catalyst control center.  For some reason any installing this forced my resolution of 800 x 600 instead of 1366 x 768.  I drove back on two graphics cards drivers and that fixed my resolution.  I went to the HP website and updated all drivers related to graphics cards.  However, the CCC gave an error message saying that it detects all the drivers AMD.  At this point, I uninstalled CCC and other AMD software on the system, and I'm a little stuck.

I can't download CCC again because it seems to mess up the resolution, but it seems to me to need to change graphics cards.

    Hello TacitRonin,

Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!

I understand that you are not able to re - install the CCC that there is a problem with the resolution with its installation, and I'd be happy to help you!

To re - install correctly CCC, I recommend to delete the entire AMD driver on your computer and re - install. To do this, remove the software from programs and features.

Once the driver is then deleted, please remove the driver from Device Manager by following this document on Uninstall or reinstall a device. This should help to re - install your CCC program to your laptop.

In addition, I also suggest to use the re HP Recovery Manager - install the supplied with your laptop original drivers. This can done by following this document on the use of the Recovery Manager to restore the software and drivers (Windows 7).

Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, and I look forward to your response!

I have the HP Pavilion dv6t-7000 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC, with 8 GB of RAM, hard disk 7200 RPM and 32 GB of WSSD Cache on the hard drive, and I noticed that there was a problem of freezing of small. Happens at random times, everything freezes, I get messages only respondents, and if the music plays, he also stops, but he just goes for 15 seconds and picks up back. I already did a check of the hard drive and gave me no error and I also did a factory reset and problem persists. My sister also has HP Pavilion dv6t-7000 CTO Quad Edition and same problem appears. I don't know if it's a hardware or software problem.

I did a clean install of windows 7 and just reinstall the drivers, so the problem is now resolved.

  • Pavilion dv6t Touchpad freezes

HP Pavilion dv6t, Win 7, IE9, no changes made to the system. My touchpad hangs. It gives a window with a finger and a red line through it. No other error message.

You are actually right there is a button to turn off the trackpad.  On some laptops, it's a physical button.  However, for you, it's that little TRAINED.  I made myself using laptops to work for training.  Double-tap the LED with the finger when it is red and it will trigger again.  Let me know that it works!

I have a HP Pavilion dv6t-7000, equipped with the Ralink RT5390R wireless adapter.  For the life of me, I can't get it to connect to my home network when implemented as 802.11n.  They connect other devices. If I change my router 802.11 g, but no other change, doe HP connect. But if I return the router to 802.11n, HP sees the network, and it correctly identifies as a 802.11n network, but does not connect.

    The router is a D - Link DIR-615 (N300 2.4 ghz)

    All this experience? All solutions?

    Woo-Hoo.

Found a solution.  Both HP and windows said I had the most current drivers, but this HP forum had a link to a newer driver.  Installed and it worked.

  • w2207h monitor and Pavilion dv6t

I have a new Pavilion dv6t Select laptop running WIndows 7 64 bit directly connected to a monitor in w2207h 22. It does not preserve the configuration of display resolution when I power it back up again.  Before he turned off had a resolution of 1680 x 1050 configuration, small icons, and other parameters, the first two being those that I am more interested in maintaining.

I used to have a laptop no HP on a docking station connected to this same screen, the old laptop had no problem to recognize the resolution that I put up on the screen.  In fact, all I had to do was power up and presto.

My new dv6t does not keep the display setting unless I do the following:

    (1) I opened the lid of the laptop and start it (if it is extended or not standby mode)

    (2) when he us operational, the monitor looks different (large icons, fuzzy fonts, lower resolution).

    (3) I use the F4 key to tell him that I have duplicate monitors.

    (4) the monitor then displays the appropriate resolution.

If I don't tell her to do with the F4 monitor rest at the wrong resolution (for example (for the larger icons, fuzzy fonts, a lower resolution).

I'm annnoyed enough I need to power my laptop by opening the cover when it is connected to the monitor, but now I have to do the extra step of the F4 to get the external screen is displayed correctly.

Any ideas as to why the monitor does not display the appropriate resolution when I turn?

    Thank you!

Yes.  It's good information. Thank you.

Try using the latest version of the ATI video driver.  Don't forget to create a system restore point before updating the pilot arrived that something goes wrong.

Look at the bottom of the laptop.  Do you see a sticky HP label with the model number?

  • Pavilion DV6T - B 6, 00 QuadEdition: update my centrino N-1000 wireless card (do you want with bluetooth)

I want to improve my wireless card, currently Intel Centrino N-1000, one with bluetooth. I saw a lot of people do and replace it with an Intel Advanced-N 6230 on different computers, but I am also aware that this can cause problems with my BIOS. If anyone can tell me if it works with my computer

    I have a HP Pavilion DV6T - B 6, 00 Quad Edition CTO Entertainment notebook PC with

    Core i7-2670QM CPU @ 2.20 GHz

    8 GB ram/memory

Intel 3000 Graphics and AMD Radeon 6770M

Running Windows 7 Professional, although I would not want to mess with dualboots and other operating system a few times

I'm open to suggestions of any other wireless cards that have built in bluetooth because I hate the external bluetooth dongles.

I have (of course the HP modified version of) Insyde H20 Bios F.1C

I wasn't able to find the required information on the HP website for the life of me!
If someone could help me out, I would be really grateful!

Do you happen to know which card will work?

I don't think that any card WiFi dual band (5 GHz) will work. The best option for you is Intel 1030. It's the same chip as the 1000 but combo with bluetooth. Reference number: 631956-001. This part number is indicated in the manual as Intel 6230.
