Strange text framework accidents InDesign

I'm working on this book and I have a problem with the file crashing when exporting what either.

I discovered that the problem is a specific text block in the editing of a page table. He won't let me do anything to it without crashing, which is obviously a huge deal.

Things I've tried:

• Delete: hangs.

• Move: hangs.

• Delete the page it is on: hangs.

• Document change fonts: hangs.

• Text of the link for it: hangs.

• Change content options: gray/cannot change.

Things of note:

• It seems somewhat related to Times New Roman Regular, since when I try to change it to something else, it crashes.

• Most of the text of this document was imported from word documents and later re-formatted.

• I discovered the box after each page and manually change the type.

Is there a work around for this? Or is it the ever? I could not find another instance of it elsewhere.

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you.

Try to create a new document and use the Pages to move to move everything except the page assigned to the new document. Try to simply copy the content of the page the last page, and then paste it into your new document

  • Problem of text re-positioning - Indesign (v2015.1)

    Hi guys,.

I don't know what's happening, but when I move through the mouse or incremental text around, boxes with the arrow keys. The text moves inside the text 'framework '. Fonts look thicker than normal, be they regular or "BOLD". But the main problem is when you move.

Does anyone else have this problem?

    V2015.1 InDesign Release (11.1.0.122 x 64)

It's exactly what I said it was - text is set to align with the grid. See https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/using/aligning-text.html and in InDesign help | Grids

In the screen shot under the buttons highlighted is who should control the alignment of the grid, and the non-aligned button is active. These same buttons are available in the control panel.

Snap to grid is not set by default, but is is located in the indents and spacing section of the title 2 green style, and other styles of subtitled headline and brochure are based on this point, so they inherited. If you don't, turn it off in style.

  • I have a strange text box appear on my screen

    Hello

I use Adobe Illustrator CS5, and it keeps setting up this strange text, almost like a translation box boxannoying.jpg

I have never seen it before, but as someone who navigates illustrator almost exclusively with keyboard shortcuts, it makes the program almost unusable. I have to keep restarting the program, and he usually reappears within a few minutes of use. I don't know if I am accidentally by pressing a keyboard shortcut for it, but I can't get it on my work computer.

If anyone knows what it is, and especially how to turn it off, it would be much appreciated!

    Thank you

Thanks for your answers for later use, if someone else has this problem, it was my EMI set up to change the language with the hotkey "alt + shift", which I only really use in Illustrator, so I have now deleted the dictionaries that I don't use, and keyboard shortcuts.

  • Impossible to move objects or text boxes in inDesign CC

I was working on an inDesign document without problem, and suddenly, I was unable to move objects or areas of text with the selection tools. I could move only with the help of my arrows. The objects are not locked and are not on a locked layer. This problem occurs now in all my other documents, and create a document did not help.

I found this thread (why can I not move objects and text boxes in Indesign CS5.5?), which suggests that I have my inDesign preferences 'trash '. I did, and it does not solve the problem. I also uninstalled and then reinstalled inDesign, but that didn't fix the problem either. I use a version of Mac OS X 10.9.5.

    Can anyone help? Thank you.

I don't have any of this

but I deleted the cache & restart & now its good working

  • Paste the text formatted in inDesign

    Hi all

I'm trying unsuccessfully to paste text formatted in InDesign CC (2015)

    I tried the following:

Preferences ()Clipboard handling > option button for pasting of formatted text) in InDesign are defined to manage information. No chance!

I tried with different formats, .rtf, .doc, etc., using the show import options when placing the text. No luck.

Can someone guide me in the right direction?

Sorry about the URL, try this: http://www.lynda.com/InDesign-tutorials/Using-Word-InDesign-Together/122930-2.html

You can map Word styles to Indesign Styles.

  • Several Versions of the text in an InDesign file

  • Switching to text in an InDesign file done with text in a Word document?

    Hello
As I recently started working with InDesign, this question may seem quite silly. I have a finished InDesign file and what I have to do is to replace the text in the InDesign document with the text in a Word document. The text frames must remain in the same places, fonts may be the same, etc., so I just wanted to know how to replace this text in the InDesign document without copy - paste the text in the Word file in each text block. Basically, I have a guide to the user of a device in one language, and I have to insert the translated text that the user guide is in another language. Is it by linking documents?

    Yours faithfully,

    VerySeriousPerson

It is a way to do it. But you will need to format the new document with paragraph styles.

    1. Open existing document ID
    2. Save as and change the file name (language to translate to?)
    3. Insert the cursor at the beginning of the document
    4. CRLT/SHIFT/END to select all of the text in the document (this is for Windows)
    5. Delete
    6. File/Place the file with the text you want. Make sure that you press SHIFT while placing the file, the text flows to all text frames.
    7. Format the document as you wish

Second step is very important to keep the original file.

  • Interim field entry of strange text after publication of the program flash

    Greetings,

When I publish my program, when there is a problem somewhere in the file (REP if I accidentally have a "double feature" or misspelled something and lead to 'unidentified property'), he made the entry fields for the rest of the file text that all act strange. To give a more specific example,

    In scene 1, I have a button called «Scene 5»

I create an event listener that allows users to access the stage 5 when they push the button. Let us assume that I misspelled it and accidentally wrote 'Senna 5' in my script. Naturally when I try to publish the file, the compiler will indicate the specific scene and the line where the error is so I can fix it. Let's say I set and then publish again and there are no errors.

    .. The question is,

    In scene 2, I have 3 boxes - box1, box2, box3

Assume that the borders of each box blue when a Word is typed in each, respectively. I tested these boxes separately and published without any problem, so I know I'm coding correctly. The question is, when I "published" for the first time, once the compiler think that I have a problem (again using the example of the misspelling in scene 1), after that I have the problem (even once note above example) boxes, stage 2 entry start behaving strangely. Basically, for any reason, I am unable to enter all the numbers, capital letters or the 'q, z, j, x' letters in the boxes. All other letters lowercase may still be entry in but if I press one of these letters, capital letters or numeric values in the input box you don't know enough. To make sure that it is not a code problem, I create a 'new' file and create a new textbox entry, just to try and in this file of 'other', it works perfectly fine.

Is there something I can do at all? Or is it a problem of program?

Embed your fonts in the textfields.

  • Import and run several text documents in InDesign CS3

I have several files to plain text, where each runs several pages long I want to import into a single document in ID CS3. I want to import them and to make them sink in a framework unique block of text one after the other on several pages. With a single text of several doc page all what I have to do is select the place and hold down the SHIFT key and InDesign adds the necessary pages and run the copy until the end of the doc. However, if I move select the docs and import to try in a text frame by holding down the SHIFT key, it will just flow the first doc in the group without any indication of overset text. I tried to place several docs of text, hold down the shift and command and brings all my docs on the first page, but in the text boxes separated with text in excess for each doc. Is it possible to do this in InDesign or maybe a plugin that can do this?

    Thank you

    Randy

I tried to find it. It was published on 21-04-08 by Peter Kahrel (I can tell because I see on my side of the discussion in my "sent" folder) in response to a post I did called "multiple files". Maybe I'm not the research archives forum correctly, or maybe it was during the time of last year when Adobe was trying (and failing) for updating the forums. In any case, I know at this time as Peter post this for public consumption, so I don't think he's going to mind if I post again:

Copy and paste everything between the lines of hyphen (excluding dash lines) in a text editor and save it with the extension .js and put it in your scripts folder. Should be something like:

    D:\Program Files\Adobe\InDesign CS3\Adobe InDesign CS3\Scripts\Scripts Panel

After the alphabetical order of your files and put them in their own folder, copy the path and run the script. It will make a new folder and place all of your files in a continuous narrative. I don't know how it will work with .txt files.

  • How can I disable the automatic search when text is accidentally pasted on the main window (not the address bar)?

This happens, for example, by filling out a form on a web page. I intend to copy/paste the text in a form input box, but I accidentally stick outside of the box. This causes Firefox search spam based on my text.

    Can it be disabled?

This is not the default behavior of Firefox as far as I KNOW.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).

    • Do not click on the reset button on the start safe mode window or make changes.

You can also try to rename or delete the file prefs.js and possible prefs - numbered # .js and a user.js file possible to reset all default prefs or check for associated user defined prefs on the topic: config page.

  • Put text highlighted blocks Indesign

I use InDesign CC on PC, and highlighting the text with the text tool is blocking the program, give me a message that says what indesign has stopped working. I tried fixing the issue by erasing my preferences many times, but also delete all my files of fonts. However, none of these things worked. I use Windows 10.

Edit: I also discovered that trying to open preferences > dictionary blocks the program with the same error message.

    Two additional ideas

    (1) have you tried with another font?

    2) has enough rights (admin) InDesign to his request and preferences file?

  • problem of block of empty text that makes indesign planter CC

    Hello

I'm doing a report of activity of 75 pages (I do the same almost 5 years already).

Today, arrived at page 59, I tear my account wanting to reread and in reprinting all on page 33, a block of text telling key figures disappeared.

Looking at the page in indesign, the text field is always present but empty, when I try to delete it it crashes the software, when I try to delete the entire block and gathered around the page, the software crashes also.

I can continue to complete pp. to that date, to other blocks of the modifier... etc. But I have a bug of this... I have to necessarily solve.

I have changed the preferences in indesign, revived the software, the mac... I tested the file on another software on another computer that the coup d'etat plant also...

At the moment I have chat with a technician who can not help me... I don't know what to do.

    Thank you.

Have you tried to export the file as IDML? This can sometimes solve minor file corruption.

  • Why have I not these inconsistencies of strange text spacing, and how to fix?

I get a lot of strange spacing issues in the CV document I created. Please see the screenshot file and attached project. I have inserted a few guides to show that the following pairs of text must be aligned horizontally but are not: experience/training, April 2013/OCT 2015, II/B.S. contract administrator: Information technology.

    Thank you!

P.S. - Other parts of the document are incomplete; First of all, I want to solve these problems of alignment at the top of the document.

It seems that the block of text on the left is not a rectangular frame. See the inset spacing, it does not allow to choose the top, the bottom and so on. This is perhaps the reason for your problem.
