Strange keyboard problem - Portege A100
I have a Portege A100 some three years now.
There is a problem with the keyboard, only the keys 5tgb - a diagonal line.
As soon as the PC is often placed on these keys don't work at all. After a while, if I press hard, especially if I turn on caps lock shift, the key to start work and then more or less work. Sometimes turning the PC and trie still the problem using shift often makes it worse. Sometimes the keys work, but only with a delay. No other keys are affected.
I am confused as to if it's a hardware problem (are these keys connected even if a single connector?) or a strange software problem, perhaps related to the traditional Chinese microsoft input method editor that I recently downloaded.Any help or advice would be welcome.
Alan Watson
Hello
The keys are connected on the map as the rest of the keyboard keys.
There are not connected separately. To me, it looks like a hardware would be malfunctions.
Why? Well, it's not easy to say. Sometimes loses keyboard cable affects the use of the keyboard. But maybe the entire keyboard needs to be replaced. We must consider this possibility I think you should contact the ASP in your country. If the warranty is valid replacement should be done for free.

I can only imagine that HDD produces so much heat. In fact, it is placed in the Middle, under the touchpad, but I still think it's the HARD drive.

Video problems and a green screen
Hello
I read the questions and answers on this topic, but some things work and others do not. For example, I was able to solve one of my problems with some other fixes I found through online forums General for the 'green' screen that plays with the audio only. It seems to work for me on you tube but not on Facebook more videos alhtough Facebook worked the first time when I rebooted.
What I did get into my internet options and under accelerated graphics that I checked use software rendering instead of...
and on the Security tab, I checked activate 64-bit processes in increased protected... It Enhanced protected mode should as well then? Should I check this option.
I also treid to do what the responses recommended... as a right click on the video on Facebook when he plays and then I get a pop up I get the settings options or global settings and adobe flash player info... by clicking on settings gives me options but none for "screen", only for my microphone, camera and storage. If I click on global settings, need me to flash player help. And the last option, I get my version of Adobe info, which is version 13.00.214. So no option to uncheck the box disable accelerated graphics cause I think I already did this in Control Panel.
But why is working with youtube and videos from Facebook that I also tried to play videos as wmv and other video files files in my windows media player flash and then I get a screen black but still audio not play now.
My computer is a HP Pavilion Notebook PC and it came with Windows already installed 8.1. My graphics card is a Radeon R5 AMD graphics card.
So what the devil now. Should I install more recent Adode Player? Even by unchecking the option graphis accelerated, this isn't really a solution for the deeper problem and the question, because then it slows down your graphics card?
My computer is not even a week and I hate having to always download the patches and constant updates and spend hours searching for and trying to solve a problem that really should not appear in a first time. Why are there so many problems with Windows? Is this a problem with windows updates as well. Active X controls? Isuses of compatibility with 64-bit processes. Can I use Firefox. I did with my old HP, which finally launched the bucket and that's why I had to buy a new one. I had to replace my battery before a year and my warranty battery lasted that long either and then the thing finally overheated and died. But I had a lot of similar things happen before with the last HP laptop if it's Windows or is it HP or is it browsers, readers?
I'm sorry if I'm unloading on you... I want too much, but it's so frustrating as a consumer of always having to go through such things. I use my laptop to work on his own account so please help!
Thanks for letting me vent... I'd appreciate your help, thank you.
A frustrated customer
Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I'm sorry you're having problems. I looked into your problem with video problems.
You have uninstalled Internet Explorer?
Have you tried Google Chrome?
It already includes Adobe® Flash® Player built-in. Google Chrome automatically updates when new versions of Flash Player are available. Adobe are on version 15. Here'sa place to update. It has a link to Google Chrome as well.
Here is a link to common problems of Flashplayer.
I would try a system restore because this could undo any change that could happen with an update from Microsoft. Sometimes they have not completed or installed on the laptop.
Hope this helps you.
Thank you.

I have a laptop DV7-3065DX that I got last Christmas and he has recently developed a strange charging problem. The other day and all of a sudden that it stopped charging, so I left FS2004 and within 5 to 10 minutes, I was playing FS2004, it began to charge again. I think it may be an overheating problem. It is not a problem of power adapter, I tried to use my mother G60 adapter and still had the same problem during execution of FS2004.
The problem has become so bad that it would not load when activated, I called HP and I sent it back to get fixed. I came home today, and it works fine now. They have repaired or replaced my mobo, the thermal pad, battery and ac adapter. I paid only for shipping to the France and I am happy to use again.

URGENT... Driver video problem Check
140105 URGENT... Driver video problem Check
(will take other ideas on what to do for video problem)
performance of device drivers fix security
my video seems to be a xp machine.
When restoring from my pc to an earlier date, it seemed to alleviate the problem.
When I boot in safe mode, I have a video perfect (with the exception of the size of the objects).
When I reboot, screens of washing washing & microsoft come up, when get to xp blue light / logon screen it goes black. What is this 'supposed' to have a problem with?
is there a way to get a proper driver download?
and: is there a utility to repair the files without destroying the data...
Thank youhave: windows xp3 sp3, viewsonic va800 monitor
I went to the site of the Lim. think that was part of the problem with saw to no support. sent them an email / current.
check microsoft to the drivers FRO viewsonic va800, except if someone can help with a good method of downloading drivers before hand.
Hi Dave,.
I could be wrong, but "Viewsonic va800" resembles a monitor? I think that you need to update the drivers for your graphics card. In Device Manager, look at "Graphics cards" (that's what they are called in Windows7, could be something different in xp...).Take a look at this site for more information: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/ht/updatedriverxp.htm
Because every PC is different (a different material) you're not going to find specific instructions, I'm afraid).
Hope that helps.
See you soon

I have a new laptop HP 8440 and I'm having a very strange mouse problem. The point of the mouse on the screen from time to time will crawl slowly towards the top of the screen. This occurs when you use the Touchpad mouse or when you use a USB optical mouse. The mouse buttons remain active and navigation mouse continues to function (so I can pull the mouse down of his craawl), but he continued to creep upward.
This does not happen all the time and 'fixed' after 5 minutes of me being frustrated. I don't think this is driver-related, but my mouse driver is 5.1.2600.0
Any ideas?
Hi Pappytopp,
1. run the troubleshooter from the link below: hardware devices do not work or are not detected in Windows:http://support.microsoft.com/gp/hardware_device_problems
2. also try to disable the touchpad then use the optical mouse and check the results.

Windows 7 64 - bit on Precision M6300 - video problem
I just installed Windows 7 64-bit on a Dell Precision M6300. There is a video problem. Here's what's happening and what I tried:
The problem:
- If I move or resize a window, the colors go crazy and it becomes illegible or at best, barely readable.
What I tried:
- Installed the latest driver from the Dell support Web, for 64-bit Vista site. It has a little less well. With this driver, before even as I resize a window, something white in the window, for example the whole background of many windows, has a checkerboard pattern that makes it difficult to read window. Then that uninstalled driver and I am now is installed by Windows 7 64 bit.
- Disabled the display of the device manager driver and found that in the video simple, low-resolution Windows going when you do this, the prob lem moved not. I was able to move and resize the dialog boxes here without problem.
- With the Windows 7 driver, I tried all available including low video resolutions, I think it's the same resolution used when the driver is disabled. All had the same problem, including the lowest resolution.
- Flashed the bios system A3 to A13, later.
- Downloaded the latest Dell diagnostics, made a boot CD, entered the custom and ran all the tests video. All reported no errors, and I never saw no problem with the video then that in the diagnostic program. I was able to move the main window of the diagnostic program, and it worked fine; no problems of any sort there.
- I also ran Express diagnostics; He reported that everything was fine.
What should I do to fix this?
Thank you
Greg
Hello Terry,
No, I don't have success with the NVidia driver installed by Vista. I spoke too soon on that aforementioned; It turned out that after installation, he always used the "Standard VGA Grahics adapter" until it restarts. While using the NVidia driver installed by Vista and the problem was back.
The only thing that worked was "Standard VGA Grahics adapter" driver for Windows, which is slow. If I deleted the NVidia driver from Device Manager and checked the box to uninstall it so that it has not restored automatically on reboot, the computer was usable, although that slow, until the next Windows Update automatica, who would always reinstall the NVidia driver, and the problem would be back again.
Here is how I solved the problem:
I solved the problem by getting an another Dell Precision M6300. It has no problem with the NVidia driver installed by Windows 7 and Vista. Probably, I will not try the Dell driver since it is about 3 years, while the NVidia driver installed by Windows was only around 3 months of age.
I think it's clear now that there is a hardware problem with the first M6300. He returned to the eBay seller.
By coincidence, the two laptops are from the same seller to eBay and the new its trackpad buttons were a bit sticky. With the agreement of the eBay seller, I swapped the palmrest assembled to get the best of these two laptops. He had a lot of screws to keep track of - 27 for each computer laptop - but not difficult. I was surprised to see how big the fans in the M6300 are compared with the Inspiron 8200 I used before.
The 2nd M6300 works very well with the NVidia driver installed by Windows 7. I'll mark this thread as answered.

A Windows Update which included a NVIDIA driver's day, now of video problems
A few days ago, I installed a driver NVIDIA update in the updates of windows. Since then, I have had problems with the video screen goes blank. Whenever I was forced to do a power cycle to recover. Several times. After awhile, I had to reinstall Windows 7, no surprise. But, even after this reinstall I still see video problems. I used this machine for 8 years and never had a problem before this video. Never. It is a new problem that came with the installation of the update of the driver. It seems that the NVIDIA installation has changed something that Windows 7 reinstall couldn't fix! Looks like something in the video card or the BIOS.
I expect that any change in the inner workings of windows, including that the registry would be more written by Windows 7 reinstall. This is a full installation. Not a repair. I tried a repair, but didn't work, so a complete installation.
The update of the included NVIDIA driver NVIDIA console could be appearing in the Panel. This console configures the driver settings, without going through the windows interface. What did do? May have changed the firmware on the card? May have changed the NIC of the OS? Maybe something changed in the BIOS. That was the case, the change persisted after reinstallation of Windows 7. Yesterday, to installed the provided Comcast Norton security suite. After the death of the first installation of the video. I did an uninstall/reinstall and it seems ok at the moment. Never had this problem before. Initially, this machine has Windows XP and has been updated to Windows 7. On both versions of the OS, I have installed security software and never no problem. Not until this update of NVIDIA driver has been installed with the console software.
I have really no need for their new console super driver. I'm not a player, just need to get my system back to a reliable State.
While searching for a solution on the internet, I'm a LOT see people with this problem. It seems that this has been a matter of months. Since I have this problem while performing a Microsoft provided update, Microsoft must weigh on this and get NVIDIA to present a real difficulty.
After having the same DELL machine for 8 years, I thought to be updated to a mini pc. A shoe more small print on my desk. But I'm very concerned about getting a machine with NVIDIA graphics. Also, I now seem that one cannot assume the updates from Microsoft to be sure.
Of course, this seems to be a driver problem. I don't know if the NVidia updates change firmware on the card.
If this computer is a variety of funds, and I presume that it is or it would not still be alive after 8 years, your best solution will be to go to the computer store and buy a low range graphics card that will fit in your PC. Probable cost is less than $50. Only problem is you need to know what type of video slot machine MB of your computer has. The video card must adapt it.
If you tell us the brand / model of the PC, we are able to provide more help.
I should add that my PC is about 6 years old and has a NVidia video card. I made the mistake of getting a new NVidia driver also. He made a number of problems. Finally, I solved it by uninstalling and removing all components of NVidia. Then by restarting. I remember not but either Windows installed the right driver or it has been updated for Windows installed. No problem since.
nVidia is not really interested in visitors like us. Their focus is on the players. Accordingly, users like we end up with a software that is very different from what we actually need.

Need help with a strange crash problem
Hi guys,.
I use Firefox on Windows 7 32 bit 14.0.1. The problem is that every few minutes my browser crashes. The memory usage appears on the rise and until you reach a point where it causes Firefox to crash.
In safe mode, the problem occurs. So, naturally I tried disabling all my Add-ons to reactivate them one by one and try to find the offending module. This is where it gets strange.
After I disabled all my modules and even all the plugins, the problem was still persistent. If Firefox works in mode safe, but out of safe mode with all my Add - ons disabled the problem persists.
If at this point I don't really know what to do. I guess that safe mode is something I haven't thought to do, but I don't know what. The problem any help will be much appreciated.
See you soon.
OK, yes the problem is caused by hardware acceleration. My browser works well now that it is disabled. Apparently, this has something to do with the latest AMD video drivers:
https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/questions/927206
I've recently updated to the latest drivers and now I get this problem. I figured it was something to do with it. Apparently, these problems have occurred since 12 FF. This should really be sorted.
I'll just use FF without hardware acceleration for the moment, but I hope that we see a fix for this in the next version. Or if it's actually a problem with the AMD drivers, if all goes well they will get into it. Anyway, it needs a fix.

I have a problem my laptop lcd is scrambled with verticle lines, I can't reset the video resolution. The screen is always blurred except when appears on the Windows XP start screen is displayed perfectly. I've updated the bios and video drivers for v2.8.4.6. Any help will be much appreciated.
Hello
Sounds strange!
Are these vertical lines there as well, shortly after press power button (black and red screen Toshiba letters) or fact that occure only when load you your profile and the office is the show?
You upgrade your XP SP2? Since when does occure for the first time? Did you change aything before the error occure?

Hello
We have two expressways and we have received a report of a company, call one of our sites had issues with one-way video. The appellant could not see the person they had composed, but they could see the appellant. Audio was OK. They were ordered to place a new call through our other expressway and all audio and video works just fine. So, I'm trying to understand if there is a difference between highways and why this happens. They run every two X8.1.1. The strange thing is that we only received from an enterprise report then having this problem through this "faulty" highway is us or them? Apparently, they do not have problems with one another that they make calls...
Looks like maybe it's time to collect newspapers... but everyone else encountered this? No I well confused everyone :)
Thank you!
In general I really wouldn't expect things to need to a few reboots to register.
Well sure a typical tech & response of the TAC will be "upgrading to the last" which I also recommended,.
but your symptoms still its a bit sketchy.
Its a good start to check if your firewall/network/dns /... are ok as well. A lot of questions
are hidden there. It is difficult to see the full extend of here.
Please get some internal or as a good Cisco partner or network resources.
And Yes, look in the upgrade to CUCM!
But the network / the environment should still be ok for that as well :-)
Please note the messages with the stars below and define the thread if it is a response.

Strange intermittent problem with macbook pro
Hey there ppl.
So, I have a Macbook Pro (15-inch, mid-2014, retina), processor i7 2.2 GHz, 16 GB of memory. Running OS X El Capitan.
My problem is a strange, because it is only intermittently. ID say like 10-15% of the time. But its very frustrating and annoying when it does and because I am working on my computer (poker), it's also costing me. in any case, the problem usually occurs after I've been using the computer for 1, 5-3 hours or more. Usually ill be playing poker online, listen to spotify and use of the internet for stuff randomly. Everything will be fine and then suddenly ill notice that my mouse cursor will be suddenly shot through the screen occasionally. as ill be goes well with the cursor but it'll jump to the left, a couple of inches or more. Also bad note that some of my habit of 'clicks' record, so ill use the calculator for example and badly want to press 543 and maybe 5 records, but when I go to click on the 4 it does not work, and ill have to like wait a second, then click New to register the click.
Also, if im typing something, as in poker, I have sometimes to take note of the way in which an opponent has played a helping hand or whatever, a letter or a space press custom register, so ill be typing a phrase and the space bar is and I'll have to press the key once the couple , then a letter will not register, etc.. Sound very disorienting and made it difficult to continue the task IM because it does not smoothly because of the LAG, unregistered, mouse jumping, etc.
IM really not sure of what the root of the problem and what it is. Ive has run the malware anti-malware bytes, but that has not solved the problem. Usually when that happens ill try to restart the computer, or stop and return back but generally the problem persists. Then, after some time, maybe 20 to 45 minutes or so, when I try to use the computer it works normally with any of these problems.
Very bizzare. Any help or insight is appreciated, let me know if you need more information
Brandon
Good afternoon brandonfrommililani,.
Thanks for letting us know about the problem you are having with your cursor jumps erratically on the screen of your MacBook Pro. The resources below provides some initial troubleshooting steps, you can try at this address. I suppose that you work with the trackpad on your MacBook Pro. In addition to the steps suggested below, try to connect a wired mouse to your computer to exclude Wireless interference.
If your pointer is nervous when you use a trackpad, Magic Mouse or Magic Trackpad
