  Hello

  I update the metadata in HFM application. Version - 11.1.2.3 Classic application. I extracted the HFM workspace metadata and update dimension members by using the HFM desktop client.

  What will be the impact on the data if I'm changing the hierarchy in the app metadata file (I'm not remove all members.) Just create new members and change the hierarchy of existing members)? It erases data from HFM applications after loading the metadata file updated through the workspace?

  Hello. Your level of database will not be affected if you do not remove members at the basic level. For members of parent, if you change the descendants, it depends. If account or custom dimensions, everything is recalculated in the memory as requested, so the change is retroactive. For entities, it depends on if you help org by period and/or parent entities of locking. If one or both of those, entity hierarchy changes generally will not be affected. If you do not either of them, the hierarchy is affected, but you will need to rebind the data in order for the changes to be aggregated.

• Error in retrieving the metadata of HFM. Cannot create the file

  In our HFM 11.1.2.3.503, we get an error when we try to extract metadata from any application of HFM. The States of error message failed to create the file.

  We are on hfm.501 but I tried with connecting to 503 to see if it solved the problem, but there was no solution in sight.

• Load the metadata of EBS to HFM and planning using ERPI

  Hi all

  I have a confusion about the process of loading metadata to HFM EBS and planning with ERPI. These 2 applications in EPMA. The ERPI Admin Guide:

  EPMA - loads of metadata in the interface tables Performance Management architect

  and then uses an import profile generated automatically to load the metadata in

  Performance Management architect. Import profile pulls interface tables

  for dimensions and the Synchronizer data pushes the data.

  This isn't about shared library. My question is which of the 2 following metadata stream is correct:

  EBS a.-> Interface-> target HFM or planning Tables.

  OR

  b. EBS--> Interface Tables-> Shared-> target HFM or planning Library.

  If b is true, why do we even need specify 2 different targets?

  If the size of your account is shared in both applications, the new account will be added in both. You don't need to manually add the two applications.

• Load metadata ERPI

  To the best of my knowledge and belief, ERPI load metadata first in the HFM Application (classic or EPMA, as the case may be) before loading the metadata in HFM (via FDM or directly in HFM as appropriate).
  
  It is possible to prevent the loading of metadata in HFM ERPI or to load data, and to have a drill through to the level of transactions, it is necessary to load the metadata ERPI using? The reason why I ask this question is that we have a scenario, where the customer has a single entity in EBS, which does not follow the COST group and by FDM, the client wants to convert the HFM (Group) COA COA of moral said.
  
  But to the best of my knowledge, both for 11.1.1.3 and ERPI 11.1.2 version requires to load metadata in HFM. So, this will fill undesirable COST so in HFM. Is there a way to stop it? In other words, I can by pass load metadata ERPI and jump directly to the stage of loading data? The option ignore in the mapping of metadata exactly work as expected and will stop loading the metadata ERPI in HFM?

  What struck you talk now + 'Mapping' + has nothing to do with the rules of metadata... they are two different things.

  When I was trying to reverse engineering of metadata from HFM, I got this kind of error.
  com.hyperion.odi.common.ODIHAppException: error occurred in the driver when connecting to the application of financial management [demoapp] on [local] using the [admin] username.
  
  I did all the steps mentioned in this thread...

  -Add the drivers for installation / var PATH environment
  -Check HFMdriver.dll exist in this folder
  -Install HFMClient on ODIServer
  -Check that the HFMClient can connect to HFMServer

  When reversing to a 11.1.1.3.00 HFM application in ODI 10.1.3.5.0 the following error:

  Cause
  The cause is that the HFMDriver.dll provided with ODI 10.1.3.5.0 is not compatible with HFM 11.1.1.3.00.
  Solution
  Apply Patch 878589210.1.3.5.2.01 ODI.

  Yes, HFM is a source of support for OBIEE (OBIEE 11 g only, on 10 it was did not support).

  OBIEE uses SMA driver to get the structure of metadata of HFM, take a look at a few additional parameters: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E28280_01/bi.1111/e10540/datasource.htm#BIEMG1366

  'report smartview as source of data as Excel type': you want to use Excel as a data source for OBIEE and Excel is filled / updated using SmartView?

  Well... Yes... but...

  The Excel need to have data in the file itself, it will only run a refresh of smartview / recover when OBIEE needs to get data, so in the end, it's just a static file Excel and someone need to refresh the Excel when required.

  You must be very careful while consolidating this type of entity.
  One type of consolidation entity C is suitable for a child of one entity and another child of another entity.
  Now, in your typical case since 60% if taking this entity would get 100% consolidated with an entity.
  so the title of the property management this must be attributed with 100% Pcon and POwn.
  and under the entity B as zero.
  In the other type of consolidation if an entity wishes to receive 60% of profit then Pown should be 60% but PCon will be 100% and
  b entity POwn would be 40% with Pcon 0 (associated entity).

  In the accounting world, this type of consolidation is called Cross Holding.

  They are certified for version 11, if not there is always a problem when you use the calc script method to export data.
  There is also a problem with loading data exist on all versions and it had to be fixed in the next EMP coming out later this year.

  It varies depending on the size. The following applies to the account, entity and scenario dimensions:

  appname_dimension_DESC: contains descriptions

  appname_dimension_ITEM: contains most of the attributes

  appname_dimension_LAYOUT: contains the hierarchies (parent-child relationships and order)

  Even for currencies except there is no layout table.

  The size of the value does not exist in any table. It is a dimension derived based on the currency item ID to which is added an index number, which gives the corresponding members of the value. This is not documented anywhere I know.

  Custom dimensions in 11.1.2.2 and later have been combined into a single table. I have yet to understand the relationship between the lCustom1 and the lCustom2 fields in the data tables and the table CUSTOM_ITEM. It is coded in some way.

  ICP is a derived dimension. The table contains only the members of the system to three hooks, while the rest of the dimension of PKI is based on the IsICP attribute in the entity dimension.

  View, year and period are not in any table.

  AppSettings are in the appname_BINARYFILES table, which is coded in XML format.

  As a general rule underlying relational database of HFM was not designed for direct user interaction. You can decode some of them, but I suggest that you evaluate your use case to access directly rather than interact with it from within the application itself.

  Admin users get error popup below when loading metadata or consolidations running...

  "A connection to the server has failed (status = 502).

  I'm on HFM 11.1.2.2.302

  I'm not able to find this error in the logs, also, it does not prevent the tasks.

  I think they deliver is linked with the Web of HFM component and not the application. This is why tasks don't stop and you can't find any errors in the newspapers of hfm.

  Have you checked that the services IIS or ESS log files?
