Structure of transaction log

Hi all

I need to understand how transactions are structured? Is it change database data block (block of modified vector) or transactions committed by the application (e. g: insert into emp values (1, "uno", "India"))

Also during the replication, if changed block is transferred from the slave master or slave so reecoutee Transaction.

Concerning

Well, I'm not sure that the other guys say exactly by "replication transactions only" but that's basically what TimesTen. Only the information directly to apply properly committed transactions are propagated by replication. Any other information in the transaction logs, which is not relevant is not propagated.

Just FYI, the latest version of TimesTen (11.2.2.8.x) using parallel replication with the optimization of application no validation command enabled (ReplicationApplyOrdering = 2) is able to maintain a flow of replication of database changes more 600 000 (updates of individual line for example) per second between a pair of servers Intel based products. I would describe as personally as 'very fast '. I'm not aware of any other product that can match this level of throughput of replication (but maybe there is something out there that can - I'd be interested to hear about it).

Kind regards

Chris

  • hot flashes control point transaction log

    Hello
Is there a way of hunting/purge the transaction logs, other than to drop the schema for replication?

    Published by: 899967 on November 27, 2012 12:52 AM

If the logs are kept even after the two control points, so it is because they are required for replication. This means either that replication is not working or is it falling far behind. Newspapers to be served in a number of ways that you can do, but it will lose all pending transactions and replicas will be out of sync. You can then choose a replica as the "golden master" and re-instantiate copies which form using ttRepAdmin - duplicate.

The two ways to "purge" the newspapers are:

    1. stop the repagent and then slide the replication scheme. Recreate the schema, restart the repagent, drop each Subscriber and reinstantiate the use ttRepAdmin - double.

    2. use ttRepAdmin to define the "State" of the flow of replication from the node with logs accumulated at each Subscriber to 'stop '. Drop each Subscriber, then re-instantiate then using ttRepAdmin - duplicate.

    (2) If a single subscriber results in the accumulation of journal you can apply it selectively to just this Subscriber.

  • For the 'VIM_VCDB' database transaction log is full

We live the error, as shown in the subject.

The problem is that we continue the expansion of the log file.

We have 3 servers esx 4.1 and about 25 of the virtual machines running on these servers.

    The statistics are at:

    5 minutes - 1 day - level 1

    30 minutes - week 1 - level 1

    2 hours - 1 month - level 1

    1 day - 1 year - 1 level.

Database size check indicates that it should be about 0.5 GB with our configuration.

We have already extended 4 times since our migration to vcenter 4.1 decembre2010 to half way and now it's 4.3 GB.

Reduce the log with the unused space do not clean anything.

Anyone experienced this and has another tip, instead of extending once again?

Don't worry, with the recovery model not set to 'Simple', no transaction log is written.

If you wish, you can compare the settings and the size of the log of your vCenter database, because it is probably set to 'Simple' too.

  • Cannot start the managed server - unable to get the property of the transaction log.

I have a server that is managed in a cluster to a single member. The field is simple - server admin and a cluster, the cluster member.

I can boot is no longer this server. When I try to start, he left after the following message:

< BEA-000362 > < server failed. Reason: Failed to get the property of the transaction log. Make sure that the migratable Transaction Recovery Service is migrated on the current server before restarting.

I've checked everything I can think or offers documentation of the error. There is only one target migratable in the field, the managed server. automatic migration is not enabled. I deleted the store by default from the file system, and it gets recreated at startup (so not a problem of permission of system files). I have Activate Server registration to any Transaction scope weblogic debug debugging tab, no additional messages are coming around this message.

Target only shows migratable are hosted on the managed server and not the last migration status.

So I'm puzzled. Can anyone suggest what I should look at?

I have searched through Foglight and documents, but cannot see a rule that presents its findings on the filling SQL transaction log.  We are looking for an alert on the cart SQL that acts almost as a rule of ability on the cart of Windows OS, so that warning can be review - 90% 80%, and Fatal - 98%.  Is there a rule that acts on the SQLO cartridge the as this or that should be a custom?

There are 2 rules for this-

1-dynamic Log File growths remaining (when the log file cannot grow more due to the capacity of the file system)

You can enable auditing or go with LOGON trigger. LOGON trigger must check if the session is from isqlplus. If so, then enable tracing for this session.

  • Transaction log maintenance

    Hi all
Is there anyway I can delete transaction logs in a specific timeperiod.
My main goal is to keep this in the automation of daily so that it will save the transaction to replay transaction logs and clear previous logs.

Stop the application and have a script that deletes files in the transaction log directory.

Or the official Oracle is: -.

    * "Periodically, you can delete the store transaction logs, and files in the Replay directory to increase the disk space available on the server of messagerie.* Essbase

    * Transaction log store: store to recommend Oracle deletion of a database transaction log. The log store is in a subdirectory under the log location specified by the TRANSACTIONLOGLOCATION configuration setting. For example, if the location of the log for the database of Sample.Basic/Hyperion/trlog, delete the content of the following directory: *.

    * / Hyperion, trlog, sample, Basic *.

    * Directory of proofreading: after you have reviewed the transactions, the data files and the rules associated with memorized transactions can be removed from the directory ARBORPATH/app/appname/dbname/Replay (see Configuration of the replay of transactions). You can delete all files in the directory of proofreading or follow these directives to selectively remove files: *.

    * Delete the data files and rules in chronological order, from the earliest to latest.*
    * Does not remove data files and rules with a timestamp that is later than the timestamp of the last fichier.* archive

    * Note: Oracle recommends to wait that multiple backups of the following databases have been taken before you delete the files associated with the transactions record and playback. » *

  • Checking the logs, error, transactional logs logs

    Hello-

I was wondering if Eloqua has Audit logs, logs errors or transactional to show newspapers if information is captured by Eloqua, or if an error occurs somewhere behind the scenes.

Going through the manual, I am only to find references in the log files as part of the add-on of HIPAA.

Are there logs without the Add on HIPAA and they easily accessible?

    Thank you

    Doug

    Hi Doug -.

There are a few different types of newspapers, that you can find in Eloqua:

To access each, you will need the correct credentials (usually the customer administrator) and will find them inside the Configuration tab:

    1. connection of the user history.

This is located under the users

And the tab inside users dashboards

The dashboard looks like this, you can access the raw data in the button of "additional reports:

This is a very old style scoreboard E9 and cannot be found inside the preview.

    2. errors and history of CRM integration

It is located in the database of the administrative menu section, and more particularly in the integration:

Your integration to different RCMS that SFDC and can display different names as the picture below, but the statement is located at a few places here:

If you point to each of the following areas (waiting for update, update complete, updated failed, with success of the imported records) you will get the menus that look like the image below and you can click on them to view a specific report on integration:

There is also a button seen above you can click to review additional reports:

Similar to the dashboard above, these are not available in Insight.

    3. download history

Within the area of integration (as shown above) you can access the data on downloads and file transfers, click "Incoming" - it will open something that looks like the image below and in the reports tab, you can find additional reports on data in the system.

    4 marketing Operations Center

The other place, you can find more information is the center of Marketing operations, it can be found after the path in the image below:

It is more operational data, but may be some of you looking for example how it looks:

    Hope this helps,

  • How can I purge transaction logs files?

I have a transactional database (i.e., created by using the db. DB_CREATE | DB. DB_INIT_TXN | DB. DB_INIT_LOCK | DB. DB_INIT_LOG | DB. DB_INIT_MPOOL flags) which also generates a file log.0000000001 as part of its operation.

The log file exceeds the limit of 10 MB by default recently, and I saw this error: ' Region of logging out of memory»

While it was easy enough to fix (temporarily) by setting the variable configuration set_lg_regionmax for a larger number, is it possible to purge just the file log.0000000001 to something significantly less than 10 MB?

In my PB, I don't have a history longer than the previous transaction, so no logging more is superfluous.

    Hello

Yes, by using the DB_LOG_AUTO_REMOVE flag with the log_set_config of the environment
method automatically deletes log files that are no longer needed. Another suggestion is to take a look at the method of log_archive environment with the DB_ARCH_REMOVE flag, which also removes log files that are no longer needed. It is documented at:

  • transactional logs

    Hello
Is there a notion of transactional connects to Oracle, as is the case in SQL Server?
How to delete these log files, if necessary, to free up space?
    Concerning

I'm not a user of SQL Server, but if I understood you correctly, Oracle has the same thing available in the form of Redo Logs, which contain the information of all transactional changes you make in Oracle.
    http://download.Oracle.com/docs/CD/B19306_01/server.102/b14231/onlineredo.htm#sthref850

You don't need to delete/remove in Oracle because they are already circular in nature and get automatically deleted with every order of newspaper.
